Unreliable. I set up an appointment to move a mattress and box springs. They gave me a time of noon and then called back a couple days later and asked if we could move it to 3:00. They never showed up. I called them and e-mailed them and never heard back. Not the way to do business!

I was in need of some same day moving help so I called these guys. They told me they were busy all day, but could possibly fit me in at the end of the day at 5, so they’d call me back(it also helped that I was just moving a one bedroom apt, so he said it wouldn’t take long). Around 4:30, I was getting skeptical that they weren’t going to call, but at last, they called me at 4:58. They were ready to come and load up! They were a little rough with my stuff, but nothing was damaged. I’d probably say something if my furniture was actually expensive. One of the guys was carrying some drawers from my dresser, he was dripping sweat and probably got sweat on some of my things… So I don’t know how I feel about that. Ended up costing $ 99 for one hour. All in all, they were speedy, cheap, and friendly. I’d hire them again, but next time I’ll probably move my drawers myself. If it wasn’t for the sweat, I would have given 4 stars.

I asked for a quote. The first two times they canceled, the third time when they came they didn’t provide a written estimate. I asked for one, and never got it.

I was new to Eugene, looking firstly for a piano, and secondly, for someone to move it. After I located the perfect piano, I looked high and low for the perfect mover. McDougal & Son Movers picked up on 1st ring and offered me the extraordinary flat rate price of $ 99. They stuck with me while I vacillated on what day I wanted to pick up the piano, and then on the specific hour. After jerking them around for two weeks with different dates and times, I finally decided(Thursday; 2:30pm) and they grandly rose to the occasion. I waited at home for my baby to arrive from out of town, tightly bound and snugly wrapped. They lifted her up the steps, slowly and gently, and set her down on the living room floor, before pushing her into the room I had laid out for her. They moved her back and forth, left and right, «(“a little more to the left… no, on second thought, to the right») until she fit perfectly in the nook beside the window. And then I gave them my check, And then everyone was happy. Bottom Line: Very reliable.

I called and left a voice message, waited two weeks… McDougal’s never called me back. Web searched Cross Town Movers, filled in their on-line form, they called me back the very next morning at 9:00 a m and we scheduled the move. So while they may do quality work… they won’t be working for me.
