McShanes

I have to give a big thanks to the bartender who worked her rear end off yesterday, probably not knowing she was going to have such a large crowd. We were all coming from a great bike event that contributed money to fallen soldiers families. So there was a large group of Harley riders. She really did a great job. We stop in once in a while on ride nights, and the food is pretty good as well as the drinks.

Jackson (owner) has the golden touch. Great staff. Friendly and quick to serve. Amber and Forrest are two of my favorite bartenders. They always remember what my wife and I have, even if it’s been a long while. And Chris the manager/​cook keeps the menu fresh and the food delicious. Great job McShanes!!!

Stopped by there for the first time Saturday night never new it was there great bar food liked the whole set up bartender was so nice right on top of things will be back with friends and family for sure

Skip it ! I’m not sure how they got all the good reviews but this place was not good. The girl who took our order didn’t write it down then when the food came we told her she messed up our order she said my bad, I can get you what you ordered but it will be a wile I just put in like three orders or do you want to just eat that. We said fine we don’t want to wait longer so what ever. Then my husband asked for a beer she said sure but didn’t bring it for 10 min so his food was almost finished. When we got up and waited at the bar to pay she came and said now what did you have? My husband said the wrong order, she said oh that’s right and still charged.

Had a great time there with our group of ten. A pretty good number of craft beers on tap, though some tasted a little stale. Maybe they don’t do enough business to justify have that many taps.
Food was good too. Nothing fancy. Just solid bar food. Reuben sandwich was a winner, as well as the basic burger and fries. Salmon was just so so.
Service was very good all night.
Pool tables looked inviting but did not give them a try.
Would definitely go back some day.

This has been my go to bar for the month or so that i have live here. It has its pros and cons.
Pros: Good beer on tap, good bar food, TVs to watch the games. Forest the bartender is a kool guy.
However, i feel like this bar trys to take advantage of drunk people by overcharging. They have tryed to over charge my three times now and that is only being there about 6 or 7. Those are terrible numbers and that is why I really am that is more then a «mistake» so watch out for that. Plus there other bartender Hymen is a prick who also tryed to overcharge me and when i called him on it he got all sad and said i was wrong. Um no dude where the fuck is forest? Eventually he got it right but my fuck that guy is terrible for business. Will not be going back here.

First thoughts when walking in: Rundown, stinky and dark.
The thing is my ham focaccia with a pesto aoli was SO good!
it cost $ 8 and came with your choice of fries/​potato salad/​chips.
The service was less than desired but the only salvage was the great food.
a few pool tables and some games downstairs and a few TV’s to watch some sports.

Outside definitely looks a little sketch as you pull up in the dark, but it’s absolutely worth it once you open the door. Warm an welcoming inside with the kindest servers. I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and the food is great. Their potatoe skins are bomb and I loved my veggie grill, my boyfriend tried their bear burger and is definitely in love. Great spot I’m so happy we Unilocaled something new!

The Ruben is amazing. Get the onion rings there hand dipped no kidding! Awesome selection of micros. Great service. Definitely coming back here!

Awesome! Came into town for a wedding and found McShanes on Unilocal and near our destination so we thought we’d check it out. It was a midday on a Saturday. Place kind of looks like a hole in the wall kind of place but don’t judge a book by its cover! Great atmosphere, good food, and beer! Staff is super friendly and the place is actually quite inviting! Kind of wish we could come back this evening to check it out! Also very interested in their tricycle races! Definitely would stop in again and/​or recommend!

This bar is awesome. My first glimpse was an older building on the side of the highway and I was thinking maybe they weren’t even in business anymore. Then my girl friend took me inside and it was huge! A giant bar with 2 floors and booths and couches. All our drinks were $ 2 and decently strong. We went on a Tuesday night because they are known for having Tuesday night tricycle races. Yes that’s right, adults racing on tricycles! I decided this is something I should do once in my life, and hopped on. 3 laps and a lot of laughs, I got 3^rd! My friend who got second won a keychain! And the races are free to join! Didn’t use the restroom but the place was very clean and friendly workers. I’d totally come here again!

Stopped in this afternoon (too briefly) to this strange cavernous place in the middle of nowhere, which always looks closed. For — you guessed it — Happy Hour! Our first time for HH, happened to be in the neighborhood (how’d THAT happen??).
Amazing deal — $ 3 for «choose your poison» — 4 ch’burg sliders, 2piece fish & chips, nachos etc. Basement prices and good pours on well drinks (a PINT of G&T”s?!) and microbrews (29 or so on tap). Great deal, friendly barmaids, good cook, a little odd. We like it.

First impression from the empty parking lot at noon on a sunday was «is this place even open?» The answer was yes and I’m glad it was.
This place is great — good drinks, good food, friendly folks, free wi-​fi, and an available power outlet. That’s pretty much the entire list of things I could want while on the road and trying to find a place to recharge and catch up with the world before heading back out.

Apart from feeling like I had pulled into the parking lot of the crime scene of my own murder, Mc Shanes was delicious, cozy on the inside, friendly, and fast. Its shady crumbling exterior was a little foreboding at first but once I entered through the heavy wooden doors and was greeted by a cheery hostess and served giant plates of crispy french fries and beautifully fried mushrooms, I fell hopelessly in love. All the food listed on the Ireland green laminated menu sounded delicious but I wound up honing in on the Chicken Cordon Blue burger with a grilled chicken breast, ham, tomato, lettuce, onion, and Swiss cheese. Delicious, but a little dry. Nothing a side of ranch dressing can’t handle.
The tables were clean, the waitress was very friendly, the atmosphere was incredibly comfortable and toasty, and while I haven’t been to Ireland, I felt like I was sitting in one of the Irish pubs featured in movies.
I will be back… in the daytime.

I love McShanes, but it might just be that I have a crush on Reagan the bartender. The drinks are always strong and the pool tables are usually open. They make a delicious quesadilla, too.

This is an Irish themed bar that has a full selection of beer and wine. They also serve mixed drinks. Lots of TVs to watch sporting events are spread throughout the bar. They have one HUGE screen over the bar for (I suppose Duck football games) major games. The bar is in 3 levels. Pool tables located in the bottom floor. The main floor is where the dinning tables and bar is located. The upstairs balcony has a few tables and TVs where you can eat, drink, or watch TV.
Their menu is designed with an Irish theme, but I went with a hamburger. It was awesome. The burger I ordered had everything on it egg, pastrami, bacon, ham, cheese, and of course a full condiment of veggies. The Fries that came with it are seasoned and tasted terrific. They also have sides order that are great too. If your in Eugene check this place out!

After watching an episode of Three Sheets, my bf had a sudden craving for Irish Coffee in the morning. Where else to go but the only Irish pub we like? McShanes we go! What a pleasant surprise it was to find that their parking lot was FULL at breakfast! Just shortly after 11 am on a Sunday and a full parking lot in this bar in the middle of nowhere?! We had never had breakfast there before so it all looked very promising. Oh and it was SO worth the drive!
Hands-​down the best hashbrowns in eugene! It’s not just salt and pepper, there’s SOMETHING else that puts McShane’s hashbrowns way the heck over the top of all the other hashbrowns I’ve tried at other breakfast joints. They taste amazing! And to think that the hashbrowns are only a side to their breakfast dishes. Their breakfast menu is very unique but also very basic. Challah french toast, eggie in a basket, chicken fried steak, omelettes, and so on. Their country gravy is good, but not great. It’s lacking something that I can’t put my finger on. But the cfs is beautifully crunchy and tasty; challah french toast was wonderful. I wish I could have eaten more… but next time!
McShanes has great bartenders that make REAL drinks, yummy and very strong. The waitresses are always the most cheery and pleasant people, very attentive and helpful. And the cooks are incredibly skilled at what they do. As far as the best bar food in the Euge, I’m torn between McShane’s and Highlands… tough tough choice. Breakfasts, dinners, and drinks are excellent here and I strongly advise people to check it out. Everyone here works hard to put up a great business. Huge fan of this place. P. S. $ 3 happy hour menu items are totally worth more than that. It’s a steal for amazing food!
