Our ReUse Store provides low cost refurbished computers and other electronics to individuals and businesses in our community. At our donation center, we offer a variety of job skills training opportunities as well as life skills training opportunities to community members and other organizations. NextStep also protects our environment and community from hazardous e-waste by accepting electronics donations from all people, households, and businesses.
History

It began in our founders garage and developed into an organization called MacRenewal, in 2002, and later on, in 2006, it evolved into NextStep Recycling.
Meet the Business Owner
Lorraine K.
Business Owner
Lorraine Kerwood-McKenzie, our Founder, was working for the Sate of Oregon Department of Human Services as a child welfare case manager when she learned that she had a knack for fixing and building Macintosh computers. She began giving the working machines to families in need of technology. She decided to create a non-profit that provided computers to community members in need of them and found that a great way to get the parts needed in order to build the computers was to accept electronics donations from the community. She has won a multitude of awards and can still be found wandering through our facility from time to time!
