Strapworks

I’ve been very happy with strapworks. I make custom running sandals and was referred by Chaco sandals. They have cool designs with hard to find nylon patterns. I’m particularly happy with their ½″ black tubular nylon webbing. I do hope they will add more colors in the future.

Two custom orders processed — one was drastically horrible customer service right on up to the top (owners eventually involved). One star generous. It’s really like they could care less about the customer — but I’ll save you the book (just think several weeks overdue on processing the stuff I paid for — I’m not a big business but it was a fairly big order for me, with my own customers waiting). The second experience was much smoother, although a much easier order. I swore I wouldn’t go back with these guys after the first custom order, but didn’t have an option as I needed to reorder custom webbing and they had the pattern.
Not sure what to think since it’s a real mixed bag (good customer service outside of the custom order stuff, as you can see in my previous one), but not many options out there so I guess they figure they can give horrendously bad customer service at times having that corner on the market? Not sure.

Amazing company I’ve had the pleasure of using their quality products in my designs.
Looking to them for more product, in the near future.

Mediocre quality materials and stitching at prices that are not very competitive. Customer service is horrendous.
The highest quality straps come from NRS and have stronger material, far better quality 2-​spring cam buckles and much higher quality stitching. They also have the length stitched, in bold, into the entire strap. And they also have heavy-​duty ID tags sewn near the buckle. They’re also very comparably priced.
Strapworks straps have far cheaper buckles, no ID tag, no length indication and highly variable strength ratings (the same material varies (depending on color) by as much as 167% and it’s impossible to know what you’re getting).
You’re far better off getting straps from NRS, Whitewater Designs, Cascade Outfitters or SOTAR, as they all make far higher quality straps, with consistent strength ratings at pretty much the same price as strapworks.
It’s interesting that the owner of this business only shows concern (see below) after a negative review has been written online, not while a customer is attempting to resolve quality issues with the company (as I tried numerous times).
The owner claims to supply straps to their competitors such as Whitewater Designs and Cascade Outfitters. Well, Cascade Outfitters’ straps are made by Whitewater Designs and Whitewater Designs makes their own straps. I know because I just asked Whitewater Designs and they confirmed that Strapworks is «full of it». So, if Strapworks is not forthright on this, I very highly doubt the validity of their claim to also provide to groups like NASA and Cirque du Soleil, (where quality and reliability are paramount).
He also claims that Strapworks will custom printed the length onto the strap. Not the same as it being stitched into the strap, buddy. Printing is not nearly as durable as stitching. Not even close. And, when you factor in the custom printing fees, Strapworks’ price will be exponentially higher than NRS’ (which is still a far higher quality strap). So, apples to oranges, dude. But nice try.
He claims that their buckles are the same quality as NRS’, SOTAR, etc… Not even close, dude. Strapworks’ buckles have the cheapest springs and lowest overall quality of any of the straps mentioned in my review. Buy some and see for yourself.
He also claims that strength only varies by material. To the contrary, according to Strapworks’ sales staff– strength varies by material, size and color (because some colors are far more UV-​resistant).
The point is– Strapworks sells products that are far inferior to those of their competitors. And the do it at prices that are not competitive. Their customer service sucks and the owner makes dubious claims about the quality of their products and who the companies and organizations that they provide straps for.
If it weren’t for the shady claims the «owner» made in response to my 2-​star review, it would still be a 2-​star review.

I rarely leave reviews unless I am absolutely blown away by a company. Customer service, cost, shipping, product quality, all A++. Spoke with someone via their click to chat function, the person I spoke with was quickly helpful, friendly and knew exactly what he/​she was talking about.
I use quite a bit of webbing to customize and repair all of our packs, I will order everything I need from strap
from here on out.

I love this place! The products are really high quality– and I couldn’t find these items anywhere else! The items arrived pretty quickly, especially considering they were custom powder coated. On my second order they sent a few of the items in the wrong color, but the online chat support made it really simple to sort out. They are also, in my opinion, very reasonably priced. THe same items, or lesser quality, are many times more expensive at a place like Joann Fabrics or Michaels.
