To start off with, we had this restaurant’s food delivered to us by a food delivery service here in Eugene, Oregon Just after Christmas time, so I cannot brand this joint«good» or «bad» in regards to their customer service, Temperature regulation within the dining area, or the rumors of the«lack of seating» thereof due to the fact I ONLY consumed the food at my home. So, for that reason alone I give Taco Loco a four-star rating because the food, well, was pretty dang good actually folks! You might be asking first off, what did I order and why four instead of five stars if the food was soooo darn good, right? Ok, Good questions my FRIENDLYFRIENDS! I ordered a variety for myself and the family which included their Nacho Plate Appetizer, which in reality should be classified as a meal in itself, but none the less it was Hearty, full of more cheese and meat than the beans & other trimmings & did not shy away from the Guacamole & Sour Cream marriage which always makes Nachos a pleasant treat of sultry Latin Flavors. I also ordered The«Burrito Rojo(red)» which did not disappoint either with the surprising correlation of homemade vinegar tasting red enchilada sauce smothering the large sized burrito filled with white rice, cilantro, onion shards, cheese(mozzarella) or Cojita Cheese, along with the small to mid-sized pieces of seasoned steak. Loved the charred texture on the steak pieces! NOW, Why the Four Stars instead Five? The food would have been a flat Five Stars if they would provided the Pico De Gallo Salsa instead of selling it to the customer. Does Burger King & Mcdonalds sell theri ketchup packets when you buy their fries, NOPE?! Second, the Pinto Beans on the Nachos Plate should have been hands down REFRIEDBEANS, &NOTTHEWHOLEPINTOBEANS! Nobody wants a quitter folks. If your going to go all out and make a plate of «Latin Love» in the form of food, then use no shortcuts! Anyhow, Great food Taco Loco, We will eat with you again!

Went for my birthday and was sooo disappointed. The salsa was basically tomato flavored water. Awful. The food just as bland. The margarita was the only thing worth the trip. Definitely over priced as well and won’t be returning. Too many better restaurants out there.

Great! Got there in the slowest part of the day and was not disappointed. I ordered the daily special of Tacos Carbon(can’t get the accent to work) and they were perfect. Love the salsas and pupusas — yum! My friend got the Carne Asada. It was freshly prepared — none of that reheated stuff. For both of us the beans and rice were perfectly seasoned and not dry. .. Yay! Oh and the margaritas were very good!

I just moved into this neighborhood & called for a take out order. The menu I got from my «around me» app was incorrect, so I decided to walk down & take a look at their menu. From the minute I walked in the door I could not have been treated better! The owner and his family were all there eating & they welcomed me in like I was a member of their family. I decided to eat there instead of getting take out…& from the wonderful Margarita to the absolutely«to die for» fish tacos to the warm and friendly company, I could have not been more satisfied! I can’t wait to try everything else on their menu and to become a regular! I am extremely lucky to have such an amazing place a 3 min walk from my front door! Thanks Salvador & Sonja… keep up the great work!

Sorry, really want to say something positive about our meals. We both had fajitas. I had the tequila lime fajita– pretty much every part was underwhelming. The chicken — dry and unflavored. The onions not sweet and no seasoning. The green peppers bland. AND that was it for their vegetables — just not a great blend. I felt like I could do better. Left wanting.

From the outside this place looks like it qualifies as a delicious Mexican restaurant, but I was greatly disappointed after wanting to try this place(for the second time) after five years. Service was incredibly slow, so much so that we had to ask«…do we get chips and salsa???» Chips were cold and on the verge of tasting stale, and the red tomato paste salsa was unappetizing… green salsa however was delicious! I have to admit, two of my three tacos were pretty dank! I got the taco platter with one chicken, carne asada, and one carnitas. The chicken was bomb but the carne asada was a tad chewy. I rate this a two overall for these reasons: prices were very high(a combo platter for 20 bucks?!) for the quality of food, service was poor(I hate having to ask for more chips after the server has walked by four times), and my two friends didn’t like their dishes(veggie burrito, and a fish and carne asada taco). I did like how much character the place has however! Hope I didn’t leave anything out…

Awful. Awful. Awful. As in, the food was virtually inedible. Why did I qualify that with ‘virtually’? I paid $ 50 for a meal I pretended to get a to-go box for in order to seem polite; this was promptly chucked in a bin approximately half a block away. The chicken on my limp salad was plainly microwaved; the service was indifferent and unbelievably slow despite our comprising perhaps one-half to one-third of the people dining … Taco Loco has steadily headed downhill over the past decade, but last night represented a low-water mark that robbed me of any will to try«just one more time» because it’s worse every time. I should have gone, I kid you not, to McDonalds. Dinner for two would have boasted at least mediocre quality, and it would’ve been a lot less than $ 50.

You would have to be loco to eat here that’s for sure. Its hard to mess up Mexican food but they manage to do that quite well.

So my bf and I ordered some stuff from here and when it got here(we had it delivered) we began to eat, unfortunately that’s when our craving for Mexican food ended. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with re fried beans but the beans were whole and my bfs burrito had no beans at all. Not to mention the whole meal was waaaay too salty and I have a salt deficiency so if that’s not too much salt idk what is.

I have been coming to Taco Loco for two years now. I love this place. I’ve had birthday parties here, and been treated like family. The owners are here, every single day, and work open to close. If you ever have any questions about how the food is made, the differences in the wide selection Tequila, and the daily specials, ask them! Or when of the many regulars sitting at the bar.

Service was good. Cold stale chips. Red salsa decent. Green salsa watery and bland. Overpriced… way overpriced. Sour Chili Verde. Very unimpressive. Weird frozen veggies and black unrecognizable leaf like things in rice. You could do much better at a food cart.

Quirky and fun. Although I just had drinks the margaritas were amazing and Salvador was great behind the bar! He was extremely knowledgable about tequila and expanded our drink world with wonderful tequila selections. Go there if nothing but to learn and taste tequila!

It’s been too long, Taco Loco. Some things have changed, and for the better. The margaritas were tasty this time, mine with blue curaçao. Service was friendly and attentive. The chips were definitely better(not difficult). While the salsas are still very thin, the red one is sweet and tomatoey and tastes more of ketchup than enchilada sauce, but I enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken tacos Oaxaca special: two good and soft corn tortillas heaped with decidedly C-grade shredded chicken and topped with not nearly enough diced onion but plenty of cilantro. What saved this dish was the delicious homemade mole and the added sour cream(actually more of a crema Mexicana). $ 13 for three tacos a la carte — filling, but dumb considering beans & rice cost you nothing. Since our last visit, Taco Loco has laid down the law: No split checks, $ 1 to use more than one card, $ 1 if your bill’s less than $ 10, 20% automatically added for service on parties of eight or more(higher than the typical 18% added at much nicer restaurants than this), no checks accepted. Jesus, sorry to bother you, TL. Still three stars.

Food was pretty delicious just as described and for under 10 $ couldnt beat that burrito… Habenerro margarita is to die for but watch out its not for the faint of heart …and service was awesome… came for a friends birthday and our server went above and beyond to make it seem special and memorable and not in the cheesy wear a sumbraro and sing happy birthday way… anyway i would say give it a shot

Not a lot of Mexican places in Eugene and this is my favorite! Staff are always friendly and helpful and their happy hour items are good. Sometimes the indoor seating gets a bit hot and feels like there is not enough air going in, but the outdoor patio seating is where the party is. Sometimes they show fights with an admission fee. Good place to hang out and just have a few drinks and eat some chips.

I think the food lacks taste and flavor — bland. Rice has frozen vegies in it … and it white with no real spark. The rest of the food is mediocre as well. Some people love it but just not me.

We were able to place our order, head over to Ninkasi, and come back to pick our fod up, which worked pretty well. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The pupusas were tasty and I enjoyed the mashed potato-y special a lot. I also liked that their hot salsa was pretty hot.
