The Home Depot

Every time I have gone in here I have never been greeted or asked if I need help finding something. It seems like every time I see an employee they always run away to another isle.

Staff is very friendly. The shelves are well stocked and there is plenty of variety. I’ve shopped here for plumbing items, for paint and supplies, and also for outdoor plants. In each case I was able to find what I needed for a price on par with other suppliers.

It’s time I review this place… give them their «due».
So I’ve recently (a year ago) moved from west Eugene out to the Hayden Bridge area, which puts me squarely between a Jerry’s and this HD. For most things, I’ve been taking the straight shot to HD – though I love me some Jerry’s.
My last few visits to this HD have been all about tools, lumber, paint, and electrical nonsense. I also buy my pellets here. My most recent trip however… was to buy a BBQ grill. So after I’d done some online research and sorted out what grill I wanted, within my comfy price range… It was determined that the highly rated machine is an item HD carries.
With that info in mind, I sped over there straight away and was grilling chicken skewers within hours. My first ACTUAL BBQ grill. Makes me feel like a card carrying «man», finally.
In my zeal to become a grill master, however… I managed to bust the handle in my new toy. It was completely my fault and had nothing to do with HD or the manufacturer. So… I rang HD up to see what it might set me back to have a replacement shipped. The lady who took my call only asked what my order number was and then issued me a new handle. She said I should see it in the mail promptly. Not only that… she credited my account back $ 10, «for the inconvenience»!! Say what!?! I f*#ked this thing up and you want to give ME $ 10 in credit for it???
That there deal is like a sore d_​_​k. Ya just can’t beat it!
On top of that very cool bit O’ service, they’ve also treated me really well on a few returns and a suspicious claim (suspicious on my behalf). I bought a tool a few months back, but when I got home and unboxed my item… I found everything BUT the tool in said box. Knowing full well that I was going to be looked at rather suspiciously… I headed back to plead my case. After what was a very brief line of questioning, as well as additional HD staff being pulled into the matter… they exchanged my empty box for one that was full of the tool in question.
I guess I’m saying this location, and the Home Depot in particular, have been very good to me. :)
I especially like Dean, in the paint dept. That dude is not only knowledgable, but funny and engaging.

Prices are decent ans staff is friendly. The firewood especially is cheaper than most places around. The bricks are also affordable.

I’d probably give this place a 3.5, but I don’t feel anything particularly negative enough to round down to 3, so 4 stars it is. Me and my boyfriend always come here for firewood and wood pellets, but I find it fun to pick up household things here and there as well. A huge variety of items in an equally large range of prices, Home Depot is a fun place to shop, as long as you know your prices. If it’s for the home, Home Depot probably has it in on one of its many clean and well organized warehouse-​sized aisles and shelves.
As far as customer service goes, I haven’t encountered any problems, but nothing spectacular either.

Educate your employees, Home Depot. It doesn’t make much sense to put a person in the tool department who doesn’t have a clue as to what an air tool is.

This poor place struggles with customer service. We have been here several times and there is no one around to help us out. Tonight, I thought we entered the Twilight Zone. We literally had to chase after one guy to help us and he left to go find someone. He never did come back. Meanwhile, another employee asked if we needed help and we said yes and he kept on walking. Then finally we thought someone was coming, but to our surprise, the mustached man stood two aisles down from us, stared for a moment or two and then left. We headed to Jerrys!

I personally love Home Depot. The most #1 reason was that they allow our dog inside the store. Our dog has been going to Home Depot since he was about 10 weeks old. Everyone has been very friendly. They have treats at the customer service stand. My dog knows when we are at Home Depot. He’s directs us to hit up the Customer Service Stand 1^st! He is aware of some of the long time employees! He get so excited because some remember his name! :0)
Not to mentioned they didn’t bock at our dog being a Pitbull. Just so you are aware we asked prior just to taking him in when he was 10 weeks and what the requirements were. He has learned to be social and have good people skills! I’m glad Pet Smart suggested Home Depot during his training! Thank you Home Depot!

We have had some amazing service from this store! The customer service was outstanding! We were looking for lighting, Bob M. Was super helpful, and helped save us $$$$!!! He helped price compare, without us prompting him!
My guy is kinda grumpy and doesn’t like to shop! Hardware store he can tolerate and he was impressed! He was looking for a clip for his drill and they didn’t have one but the young-​ish guy that helped him said why don’t I just give you one from the display model!!! Are you frickin’ kidding me! Couldn’t ask for better service than that!
Some else complained about them always asking if you need help, we were asked a lot of times. Sometime we did and sometimes we didn’t. I would prefer to be asked than ignored the whole time! And it ended up saving us money!

I used to love Home Depot for their customer service, but it’s just not the same store. I needed to pick up some lumber for shelving and have it cut. I walked to the front of the store twice to ask for an associate to help. Both times the call was made but after 20 minutes nobody showed up.

I had the Home Depot windows replacement crew out here to do an estimate yesterday. Their estimate for two windows and one sliding glass door was three times higher than an excellent local provider. And the windows and sliding door they specified were lower quality than the ones from the local provider. Unbelievable! Only little old ladies who don’t know better would go with the crew like this and I suspect that that’s who they go after. An informed person would never choose this.

Previously I have not had good customer service at Home Depot so I wanted to be sure to take a miinute to talk about the fabulous and exceptional service I have gotten in the last week from them. I was ordering carpet and Nick has been fantastic in expediting it to get it here timely for me as well as calling to update me. Additionally had ordered a set of front doors and that company that they outsource it to said that the delivery of them would be delayed. Daniel, David and Ryan have been instrumental in working to get them here sooner and calling me also with updates which has been very much appreciated! Thanks Home Depot!

The people here have become very helpful and friendly. In years past they seems very indifferent, now its nice to shop here and get great help.

Don’t even bother.
You’d think that it being 2014 and all they’d be able to fill a simple on line order/​local pick up. But no, not the case at all.
Ordered and paid for a new washer yesterday around 4:00. Made the designated pick up for 9:00 am this morning. This was an item as listed in stock at this store.
9:00 am comes and goes with no call, no pick up notification, nothing. Ok… Call the store and we’re told to come on down and everything will be ready to go, ok great. When we get there we find that they do not have the item in stock. Instead they want to offer us the beat up floor model at a 10% discount. No thanks.
They had plenty of time to call and tell us the item was no longer, or never in stock. Someone seriously dropped the ball here.

Dunno why this place gets such mediocre reviews. Granted, this place is no Jerry’s. But compared to the Home Depot back in Los Angeles, the staff here are awesome.

The service here was incredibly bad. Everything that I needed help with seemed to make the workers mad. They didn’t take their time to help me out and I really needed it.
Go to the Senica location! They are so great.

Simply needed a worker with scissors to cut a couple yards to plastic covering. A 30 second task. Asked for help and was told I would need to wait 15 minutes until an employee was available. When finally helped, the man was extremely condescending and rude. Wish I would have spent my money at a locally owned store like Jerry’s…

I have always received great service and solid answers at this Home Depot. The appliance delivery contractor was stellar.

I used to like shopping there, but that was years ago and now something is different. The people who work there just don’t seem happy and it comes through in the way they treat the customers.
Of course I am generalizing and there are some employees there with great customer service skills, but my experiences lately have me rethinking my next «big store» choice.
I called there recently to ask questions about product availability and specifics. The girl (who I doubt knew anything about the product) was extremely rude. She then put me on hold and never came back.
No big loss, really. Just one less pain in the neck. See you home depot.

I stopped by the other day needing some paint for a small project I had going. I’ve frequented this Home Depot quite a few times in the past years being it’s rather close to my home. I know this place pretty well, and the department areas are labeled and pretty clear. I have experienced not being able to find help, but if you go to the front counter by the entrance and ask for help, they can page somebody for you.
I’ve bought lots of plywood and lumber from here. The guys are always helpful and they’ll even cut the wood to your exact measurements. Very helpful for when you have a simple project drawn out and just need the materials.
They have a large selection of paint as well. We came here to choose the color for my daughters room and had help immediately. 2 days ago I came in and got a quart of white paint for $ 9. The paint did a great job and looks wonderful. It dried to the touch in 1.5 hours and that allowed me to throw the 2^nd coat on which helped me wrap up my little project all in the same day.
Also…They have self check-​out for days they may be low on cashiers or if you’re like me and just needed a small can of paint and a brush really quick.
