Came for the beer and was impressed by the food! Great beer selection but that isn’t what surprised me, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I had the avocado roll and would definitely recommend it.

Came in here with some friends that were visiting. It was about 2 on a Thursday afternoon during the holiday season. The place is nice, the beer selection is great, but the service and food are garbage. Luckily the atmosphere and beers were good or I would have split before I finished my 1st round. Biggest complaint: the young female bartender(you know who you are). This women couldn’t have acted more unwelcoming or cold. She acted annoyed that we wanted growlers filled, and her attitude just got worse and worse as our time there progressed. She was happy to chat and tend to the few locals/regulars but seemed burdened and frustrated to help my guests and I. Overall she was cold and unwelcoming from beginning to end. Bottom line, I don’t write negative reviews but felt inclined to for this tap house, that’s how bad the service was. Another note: don’t get the Lebanese skewers. They are over seasoned, dry, salty, and disgusting.

Oh my freaking goodness the Z Kitchen food superseded my expectations!!! Wow, wow, wow. We got Kefte: hearty portions of meat with a vampire kicking garlic sauce. We had both the Bacon Wrapped Poppers and Devils on Horseback and they both were memorable. Salads good. Beef Rouladin was great. Congrats to the Z Kitchen on such wonderful flavor combinations. Food was quick and beautifully presented. Too many drink options to even mention ;)

While I still really enjoy this place and the beverage selection is great, I’ve been a bit disappointed with this place recently. Meal portions(other than the nachos) are often too small for the price, leaving us still hungry after we eat. I’ve also had cold food twice. :(such a bummer.

The food menu has really improved and includes appetizers, pretzels, pizza, nachos and typical«bar food», what is unusual is that everything on the menu is excellent and beyond the typical«bar good» you find in Eugene. We especially like the Little Italy Pizza, the Paninis, and the nachos. You can’t go wrong ordering their sandwiches or wraps. The other pizzas, besides the Little Italy are flat, since the pizza dough tastes like pillsbury dough and the sauces are a bit different. Great selection of beer, one of the best cider selections in town and enough variety to please a oenophile, even if it tends to the jammy. Great place to watch the football game in a low intensity environment or sit outside and listen to the trains. Best bar food with TV access in Eugene. Try to get Rachel as your waiter

Let me just start with… this place rules! Their slogan is «Stay or Growl» which I think is clever. If you don’t know what a growler is, google is your friend. My husband and I were visiting Eugene recently and decided to stop here for a light dinner our first night in town. Upon walking in, it has a super cool industrial type vibe. They have an extensive menu of both local craft beers and wine and a small menu of food and snacks. We ordered the nachos with smoked pulled pork to share, he had a peaches n cream ale to drink(recommended by the wonderful employee who helped us) and I enjoyed a root beer. Before diving in to the food and beer, I just want to say the guy that helped us(kicking myself for not remembering his name, but he had long blonde hair tied back in a low bun and a beard) was really super friendly and patiently answered all of our questions and entertained us with a little conversation and samples of the beers we were deciding between. We never felt rushed or like an inconvenience, which I very much appreciated. In helping my husband decide what he wanted to drink, he mentioned his favorite was Fearless Brewing Company’s Peaches and Cream ale. Now, I myself, am not a beer drinker simply because I’ve never found one that I REALLY enjoyed. Problem solved. That beer is DIVINE. So, kudos where they are due… this discovery made my day! I still decided to go with the root beer because I didn’t think I could finish a pint of beer, plus I am a BIG fan of root beer and theirs is delicious. There’s not much I can say about the nachos except that they were quite good! I definitely recommend adding the smoked pork because it is wonderfully smoky and full of flavor! Very very good! I also want to mention that during our dinner I kept stealing sips of my husband’s beer, enjoying each sip more than the last. This prompted us to return before we left for home to purchase a growler of delicious peaches n cream ale to go. Since it was from the tap, it has to stay chilled, which was a little bit of work with an 11 hour drive home ahead of us, BUT we managed to keep it good and enjoyed some glasses just last night! ANYWAY, go check this place out! Great beer, great food, awesome employees! I definitely look forward to returning to Eugene so I can stop by for another visit!

Really delicious beer selection. And get the traditional pretzel to soak up the alcohol.

I went here just to have a beer and check out the local scene. When I came in, I sat down at the bar and asked for a menu. The bartender looked at me a little confused – then explained«It’s all on our site.» My first online menu experience! It makes sense, really – they switch their beers so often, it’s silly to print out a new menu whenever something changes. Thankfully, I am the owner of a Smart Phone, and luckily semi charged at this point. I order something hoppy and citrusy. It was amazing. Definitely stop in for a drink and a chance to try something you haven’t before. Bonus: there is kombucha on tap and they make their own.

This is my favorite place in Eugene for craft beer and wine. There is usually a decent selection and the pretzels are soft and yummy! Compared to the Beergarden and The Bier Stein, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the Tap & Growler the most.

The beer selection and staff get a 5 star. Food gets a 2 star. We ordered a simple pork nachos and the left pork gristle in the nachos, there was not nearly enough salsa on them, and there could have been more pork for the price. Overall great place for beer and wine. Dog friendly outside picnic tables.

This place is awesome. We’ve been coming here since they opened and now that they have a full food menu and not just snacks, we can’t stay away! It’s clean, beautiful, with a laid back atmosphere. The pretzels are delish and I love the huge variety of drinks on tap.

Found this gem while working in Eugene. They have A LOT of taps — wine, cider and beer, beer, beer. The drink menu wall is logically arranged by type(light, IPA, cider, etc.) to make your decision a little easier. Friendly servers let me take a taste to make sure before I ordered a full pint. I got a pineapple cider(I know right?!). It was on the sweet side, but very light a refreshing on a hot day. We had eaten next door at Cornucopia, so did not try the food but the menu looked pretty darn good. I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in the area and have food(and a beverage)

Just wrapped up a visit here for a beer and lunch with a friend while visiting from Portland! My thoughts: Great beer selection with good variety of beer styles and breweries represented. I had the pulled pork flatbread pizza which was good. I commend them in sourcing the pulled pork from Longs Meat Market. I remember Longs from my time living in Eugene and they have some of the best pulled pork that has ever entered my pie hole. So good. The crust on the flatbread could use improvement and the cheese wasn’t fully melted in spots. However, the flavor was definitely there. All in all a good place to hang out and enjoy some tasty brews with room for improvement on the food execution. I’ll definitely be back.

I get that this place is called Tap n Growler but I am a food first person. Food was lack luster and service was spotty. Okay beer though. Will try again when not as busy maybe…

3 Stars does not mean that Tap & Growler is not AWESOME. Don’t read into it that much. If you want a great beer selection, served in proper glassware, with a great environment that is even better when they open the patio in the summer — GOHERE. Great wine menu, great beer menu, and a great selection of Belgian-style crafts which is fantastic. However, the nachos were a class-A disappointment. The pork was great, likely a whole roast with a good smokey flavor. That’s all great until you’ve eaten all 4 pieces of it. Oh well that’s OK, but then after the top layer of chips you run out of salsa and everything else and are left with a cheeseless abyss of soggy CHIPS. I was so sad. $ 13 for soggy chips and with some really good nachos on top.

My friends and I regularly go to Cornucopia right next-door for trivia and I’ve always wanted to check this place out. And tonight was finally the night. The vibe is super chill. I love that the beer and wine menus were projected onto the wall and that there were so many options for each. I also really thought that the barstools that swiveled to either side were pretty cool. Their pricing on food wasn’t too expensive at all, fair for a relaxed night out with a friend. It was a little slow getting my small charcuterie plate out, but it was pretty busy(to be expected on a Friday night #NBD). But what always makes it for me at any place is the service and they totally get an extra star for that. The employees were super nice and had great suggestions for what I should get. And I didn’t even notice until after I got home that they actually comped my wine(probably because the first one that was suggested they actually ran out of, again #NBD)! I’ll definitely be coming back here.

Yep. Unilocal delivers again. We spent an evening in Eugene recently for a David Sedaris event at the Hult. And of course, I headed to my Unilocal app to find somewhere for a snack before the event. The beer menu isn’t event written with chalk, they have it computerized! What a great way to allow for so many taps in so little time. My sweetie pie had the Kolsh. I tasted was stupid and ordered wine.(Who does that?!!) We had the pork nachos — because other folks recommended on Unilocal — and toasted hazelnuts for dinner. 1. The service was efficient even with a packed house. 2. The beer selection was great. 3. Even the wine and Kombucha selection was over the top. The pork nachos were just right. If we lived in Eugene, we’d be a pair of regulars there.

Love this little spot! The options of beers and ciders isn’t as numerous as the Bier Stein but it stands on its own with its multiple beers on tap. I love the wine and cider options too! This spot is lovely in the summer and the fall with it’s retracting garage door and outdoor seating. I wish the food menu was more extensive but the nice thing is the location is next to sooo many dining options! Great spot to get together with friends, watch some football, people watch, sample beers, nibble on a charcuterie plate and enjoy yourself!

I randomly came here with my boyfriend on Memorial Day after hearing so many good things about it and finding out they had wine flights! When we got there it was empty except for one table, we expected that with it being Memorial Day weekend. We got both a beer and wine flight and chips and salsa. I chose 6 different wines for mine at random. They all ended up being really good! My boyfriend liked most of his beers except for one. We didn’t try much of the food, just chips and salsa, which was good! I would say all around it was a nice experience here and something fun to do. Their prices aren’t outrageous and it’s a good atmosphere! We’ll be back!

Tap and Growler is another Growler fill station that recently opened here in Eugene. I’ve been here probably 10+ times in the past 3 months. If I simply want to stop and run in to get a quick growler, I’ll go here or The Growler Guys. However if I want to sit down and have a few beers and grab a growler, this is where I go. Where as TGG is a great place, Tap and Growler has more of a «pub» type feel to it. The wooden walls, low lighting, and intimate space, makes this one of my favorite places. In the summer time, they have a bay door that rolls back and opens up to Pearl street. It’s great during the summer, and just as good in the winter. They have a great selection of beers, ciders, and wines(70 taps). I believe Tap & Growler is one of the first places in Eugene to take advantage of the new license allowing Wine to be bottled in a growler to go. I’m not a wine-o, but Woo Hoo for those who are! What a victory! Husband gets his growler of brew, wife gets her growler of Wine. It’s a win-win. Service has always been great. Normally when I order a pint and a growler, they offer to keep my growler in the fridge in the back. I prefer to keep it nice and cold while spending 20 minutes enjoying my beverage of choice. Location is great considering it’s across the street from 5th street market, and there’s lot of parking across the street behind Steelhead Brewery. Lastly, a great perk is that it’s right next door to Cornucopia. Granted, I do prefer the location on 17th and Lincoln, it’s very handy to grab your brews, take them out to the car, then head back into Cornucopia for a bite to eat. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it!
