Specialties

Wright Guitar proudly hand builds the original travel guitar called the SoloEtte. Please note that we are no longer at the Isabelle Street location. Please call ahead to check our stock and make an appointment if you would like to visit us. We will provide our physical address with the appointment. We offer nylon and steel string travel/practice models as well as performance electric guitars. All of our SoloEtte guitars disassemble for travel. The SoloEtte also functions as a practice guitar with it’s onboard headphone amplifier. You can play anywhere with a SoloEtte. In addition to the SoloEtte, we also make lovely solid body electric guitars. We are a manufacturer of high end guitars rather than a retail store or guitar repair shop.

History

Established in 1979.

Wright Guitar began as a local guitar repair shop. Luthier Rossco Wright repaired hundreds of guitars while designing his own invention: The SoloEtte. After repairing many guitars that had been damaged during travel, Rossco decided to make a rugged, portable instrument for the traveling guitarist. He made a few models when his design caught the attention of Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield as well as Grammy winning classical guitarist Sharon Isbin. Now, after building 5000 guitars, we are proud to offer high quality, handmade guitars built in the lovely Pacific Northwest.

Meet the Manager

Vanessa R.

Manager

Vanessa moved to Eugene, Oregon from the midwest in 2004. She began working with Wright Guitar Technology right away. When she started with this business, she had no background in woodworking or guitars. In fact, she didn’t know how to play. Now, Vanessa not only handles all the office aspects of this business, she also is proud to help build every SoloEtte that she sells. Vanessa loves talking to guitar players about the many options SoloEtte provides. When she isn’t building guitars or reading about stringed instrument history, Vanessa likes to explore the glory of the Oregon outdoors. Please give her a call anytime.
