We used Pat for a landscape job and we were extremely disappointed. She charges a fee for her design (which is fair) but when we received the final design it was terrible. Very bland, almost cookie cutter right out of a book with no customization for our yard, or the plants we were interested in. We asked for a number of changes (which included removing plants we told her we didn’t like, as well as adding plants we specifically requested) and after several weeks we finally got the revision… and a hefty fee for making the changes!
We broke any more business with her right then.
Look elsewhere you can find much better…

I had my backyard designed by Pat this past spring/​summer and the transformation was extraordinary! My backyard used to be overrun with dying trees and bushes and a patio that lacked any style. It’s now an outdoor living area and is joy to be outside again. My dogs love it as well! Pat chose beautiful plants, flowers, and trees and has a beautiful flow! If you’re planning on re-​doing your back yard (or front yard) you need to use Pat Bernard!

Pat brings an incredible design sensitivity to the business of landscaping, dedicated with equal measure to the considerations of HOW the space needs to be used… what the most successful CHOICES will be for the setting and exposure… and the VIEW to be enjoyed over the years to come. It’s three years later and we continue to love our yard. Pat Bernard Design comes highly recommended.

We were referred to Pat Bernard by Gethsemane Gardens, and we were very pleased with her work. She is very knowledgeable, and also budget conscious, which is appreciated. We needed help with our front yard in terms of its overall style and Pat made excellent suggestions that better complimented our home. She was very easy to work with and appreciated that since we love gardening that we still wanted our own personality to show through. As mentioned previously, Pat made use of existing plants and made good suggestions for relocation of them. I would highly recommend Pat.
