Reserve at Evanston

Very neat living spot. We stayed with some friends for two nights.
Pros
+ They accept let’s, rare for the area.
+ Free coffee at all time in main building.
+ Will accept packages for you up front.

This is by far the best managed apartment complex I’ve ever lived in. These guys go above and beyond to help with any issues and are extremely accommodating with picking up packages or dropping off a parking pass for example when I’m always working odd hours and missing the normal open office hours. Since I travel a lot for work, it’s nice to know that I have such a comfortable, nice environment to always come home to! :)

The Reserve is a well run, very comfortable place to live. The apartments are fairly large and well equipped. Pam, the manager is terrific and the staff, overall is great. The tenants are a mix of grad students, couples and some seniors. Strongly recommend the Reserve of Evanston.

I had truly a great living experience at the Reserve at Evanston. It’s a great place to live, particularly for young folks or people with new families. The things that sets this property apart from other properties in Evanston are:
1) Extremely professional, helpful, friendly and accommodating building management — Pam, Tessa, Simona and others do a fantastic job of taking care of the residents. I don’t remember a single time when any of my requests wasn’t given due attention.
2) Quality of the units — Many units are newly renovated and are very spacious with all new appliances and carpets. The in-​unit washer and dryer is an added advantage
3) In-​door heated parking and free guest parking
4) Pet friendly building for dog-​lovers like me :)
5) The amenities are also very standard. The gym and the open-​pool is a great way to meet new people and socialize. The management also organizes periodic events that are always fun
6) Service staff is very responsive and quick
I will definitely consider the Reserve at Evanston if and when I move back to EV!

Coming in from out of town and trying to find a place to call home is a truly important necessity for the mind and soul. Think twice about this location. I truly believe in giving people more opportunities than they deserve so I will write another review after my lease is up. This initial encounter has been nothing but substandard, unprofessional, and atrocious. Everything from ill accommodating management staff to having the apartment have numerous issues that were not fixed prior to me moving in. The constant updating of phone numbers/​email addresses to receive proper communication is also a hassle. Yes, the town and building for most parts are great. However, the lack in cohesive management ability make this yet another headache. I am grateful for a roof over my head, and I truly hope this initial experience gets better. If you are looking, you may want to keep looking some more.

The reserve is a fantastic place to live. I lived here for a year and a half and probably would have stayed for longer if I didn’t upgrade to a townhouse. From my experience doing research when I was looking for places to live, the reserve was either equivalent or cheaper than similar apartments in the area. The management crew is fantastic. If you have any problems at all, they take care of it as soon as they can. If you have a car, the underground parking is a blessing in the winter. I don’t think I could have chosen a better apartment to live in Evanston.

I lived here for just over 2 years and I had a very comfortable stay during that time. Pam, Daisy and everyone else was very responsive to all my maintenance requests (which were very few during that time because the property is very well maintained). The entire crew was always welcoming whenever I had packages to pick up, or lease renewals to sign, or anything else.
All in all, I will say that this team displays excellent customer service.
I have relocated out of the area now. However if I were to ever return to Evanston to live, I would definitely consider The Reserve At Evanston.

We have lived at the Reserve for five years and we have been very happy. Our apartment is spacious and quiet, and when something breaks it always gets fixed immediately. The amenities are very nice, including the gym, package collection service, and free Starbucks coffee. All of the staff are always courteous and helpful, and they even occasionally organize fun little events for the Reserve community, which we unfortunately missed out on. The pool and the outdoor grills are also terrific.
The only minor complaints we would make have been mentioned in another review. The air conditioner is annoyingly loud, and the fans in the bathroom cannot be turned off. We were also a little frustrated when we renewed our lease each year by the ~$ 100 increase in rent, but we would have probably faced these kinds of minor issues anywhere.
Overall, we love the Reserve, we would live here again, and we highly recommend it.

We lived here from 2008 – 2011 and miss it dearly! The apartments are really nice (albeit expensive), it has a nice gym, and it is within walking distance of a lot of amenities like Whole Foods and the public library. It is maintained very well, with meticulous snow shoveling in the winter and fast maintenance at other times of year. Pam and Reve in the front office are great!

Confrontational. Wanted to dictate the color you can paint your apartment. Demanded to know your annual income. Absolutely no service orientation. High prices, bad location on top of train tracks. Much better off at Evanston Place.

What makes this apartment so great is Pam, the model property manager. After months of apartment hunting in different cities, we now see how important it is to have a reliable, dedicated manager like Pam.
We stayed at the Reserve for two years. Given the high turnover, we saw MANY staff, management, and maintenance people come and go. During our first year, we were often frustrated by the slow and poor maintenance services and the sheer arrogance of the rental office. After Pam’s arrival, however, many of us tenants stopped complaining. She cleaned things up in a short period of time, put together an excellent team, and remained on top of everything.
PROS:
1) Pam and her crew
2) the gym is small, but has new equipments and is open 24 hours
3) the community lounge is nice, has free computer access, printer, freshly brewed coffee, tv, etc.
4) monthly party and happy hours where you can easily befriend your neighbors
5) large underground parking lot
6) complementary wireless internet and cable
7) washer and dryer in each unit
8) walking distance to both Metra (Davis) and EL (Foster and Davis) stations
9) over all, very clean, new, safe and comfortable
CONS:
1) the air-​conditioning/​heater is super loud
2) thin walls
3) no way of turning off the loud bathroom fan when the lights are on
4) no whirlpool at the pool
5) a bit of a hike from the NU campus, if you’re a student/​staff there
Will we live there again if we move back to Evanston AND if the P-​team is still there? Absolutely!
