* We record music in all styles and specialize in recording acoustic instruments and ensembles using a blend of vintage analog and contemporary digital gear. Studio instruments include two expertly maintained grand pianos, a Yamaha C-​7 and Baldwin SF10, and Gretsch drum kit.

History

Established in 1983.

The studios opened in this location in 1980, the in-​house recording facility for a creative services company run by talented Northwestern grads. Staff audio engineers took over in 1983 to focus on professional recording services.

Business Owner

I didn’t set out to become a studio owner, just worked that way. I came on as a staff recording engineer in the analog tape era and continue the job now in the era of digital recording. I’m lucky to love how I spend my time at work.
