I don’t drink coffee so why am I reviewing a coffee house? Well I’m a supporter of local businesses and the place just smells incredible to walk into. Enough said.

A decent place for you to run away from home and be surrounded by good atmosphere and put yourself in a working mood again. Reasonable price.

Cozy café on Main St. Though I’ve visited quite a few times, I’ve always had to either get a drink to go or walk a half block down to Hoosier Mama because Brothers K is always full. I got lucky today and nabbed a window seat. Good amount of natural light, delicious(and not too strong) cappuccino, and homey ambiance makes this a great study spot. I’ll definitely be back to try the delicious pastries! Coffee menu is simple – nothing too fancy or out of the ordinary – but they seem to do it well, which is what any caffeine addict could ask for.

As a previous reviewer wrote, THEYHAVESTUMPTOWNCOFFEE. It’s my favoritest(yes, I’m using that as a word) coffee ever. It truly is the best. It’s rare for a coffee shop in the city to carry Stumptown, so I was delighted to find this place. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was so delicious! ugh. so perfect. I recently started working in Evanston so this will definitely be my go to spot in the morning before I start my day!

Solid espresso drinks featuring STUMPTOWNBEANS. Stumptown is the best. THEBEST. The baked goods are sourced from bennison bakery and other local places. And bennison makes one of the best croissant. Baristas are nice. There are lots of seats here for a study session.

The quiche is so good — rich and cheesy(and a little greasy, FYI, but I liked it.) Iced tea was also very good. Food and drink both came out very quickly, despite the crowds. I’m here on a Sunday afternoon and this place is BUSY! When I arrived around noon, I was worried I wouldn’t find a seat(inside or outside!), but luckily I snagged a great table in the corner by an outlet. Even though I wasn’t sitting outside, the large windows lining nearly all of two walls let in tons of natural light and created a warm atmosphere/happy vibe. Bike racks outside helped add to a pleasant morning ride from home(and no trying to find parking… yay!) Downside: I didn’t get there in time to try the Apricot Cheese Flakies(brought in from the Lucky Platter) everyone talks about! :( Wish they would post the WiFi name and password in multiple places throughout the store. I was asked by three separate people today(during my approx 2 hour visit) and while I could direct them to the front of the store where it is posted, I couldn’t — for the life of me – actually remember what it was!

Whenever I think about moving Brothers K is a main reason to stay, having the perfect coffee shop right across the street is great, esp when the staff and especially the owners are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Brain is never in a bad mood! I’ve searched in several states and throughout Illinois for a vanilla latte even close to as good as theirs and have not found it(closest is in Dallas)! My wife loves the mocha freeze. Their breve(sic?) is delicious. Most of their baked goods come from Bennison’s in Evanston. I usually hate quiche but they get a yummy one. I could eat their burritos from Blind Faith everyday for lunch. All across the board, an amazing, welcoming gem. One day when I move I know I’ll miss this place most!

This is a solid place for coffee. There is also plenty of space to work. The staff are friendly and inviting. I had both a house coffee and a mocha during my several hours here and I was pleased with both the flavors and the prices. I will definitely be back. Also, the giant water jug for hydration is really nice. There food options are also nice!

Best coffee on the North Shore. The Barristers are so friendly and they always top it off with a cool picture. I love the pastry too. They have great wifi, you will find many people working inside and outside here from journalists to students to portfolio managers. Oh yea dogs love the water bowl outside on hot days!

The best coffee I’ve had in the North Shore area has been Alchemy(Wilmette) and this place. It’s amazing by not just their coffee but by serving at the perfect temperature. Not too hot, not too cold and perfect — to chug, which won’t make the experience last that long unfortunately. An eclectic and no frills place with a clientele that ranges from students to artists to locals. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Parking not the easiest. Some food — local bakery stuff that’s there until gone and some various protein bar type things along with some cookies. They also have some remade sandwiches available in their fridge. A definite place to visit for a great cup of joe.

Been going here for a while now. Good coffee, always consistent. They have great baked goods from bennison’s nearby. The interior is so-so but the employees are very nice. Prob the best coffee spot in Evanston.

Considering I’ve always get my coffee here I should give it a review. Service is great, Love love love the coffee. That’s all I can say. I don’t know what they do but the coffee is so smooth and aromatic. U cannot get coffee like that at starbucks. I wish they had more chains so I never have to drink another starbucks again.

Hands down the best coffee in Evanston. The staff here are true professionals — antipodeans, they know what a flat white is and make a mean one. The coffee is fantastic, the service is friendly and realllllly efficient, but what I appreciate most is the consistency. I’ve been going here 1 – 2 times a week for two years and have never had a dud. That’s pretty fantastic, considering that they seem to have a fairly large staff rotation(probably due to always being busy and having great, long hours).

How I heard of this place: Our Evanston-ite friend, a local to the neighborhood and promoter of local coffee establishments. Type of cuisine: The finest, smoothest coffees prepared by trained and eager baristi accompanied by savory or sweet, tasty morsels from fine local businesses. Ambiance: «Frequented by people from many walks of life, the shop has become a beloved neighborhood hang-out and a popular place to work for telecommuters and students.» What I ordered: A small Hot Cocoa($ 2.50) in a soup-bowl mug. My dining companions chose a medium Vanilla Latte($ 3.60+), times two, and a large Caramel Latte($ 4). What I loved: I only tasted the hot cocoa, but it’s foam held a melt-in-your-mouth fluffiness, and dark chocolate with a hint of vanilla-sweetness that made for its easy journey across my tongue and down my throat. Why I loved it: The space is reminiscent of a college town hot spot, with very limited seating, know-it-all baristi and intriguing music mixes. Cost: Average($ 2.50 — $ 4.78 per espresso bar beverage)

I don’t know why I’ve never reviewed Brothers K, since this is my local coffee shop and I come here pretty frequently. They serve Metropolis coffee, which I really like, so I guess I’m predisposed to like the place! This place gets so, so crowded in the mornings. I am more of a coffee to-go person, so it doesn’t really bother me, but you probably can’t count on a table if you want to come here and do work for hours. There is usually at least a seat or two open at the bar by the window, even at prime times. The coffee is great(much, much better than the Starbucks down the block!), and I love the selection of pastries, which they get from Bennison’s(croissants and sweet rolls) and the apricot cheese flakies from the Lucky Platter. If you don’t get there early(before 10AM) the flakies will be gone. I appreciate that I can get the best thing from Lucky Platter in a cleaner environment! I also stop by regularly to buy coffee to make at home, and they are always really nice about grinding it. They stay open late, too, so you can come by after work or in the evening. I was worried that Hoosier Mama would cannibalize their business, but this place is clearly so much better than HM, it doesn’t seem to be a problem.

New spot for me. Quick notes: — Really love the Costa Rican house blend coffee. I enjoy a nice ceramic mug«for here», and they had one. Re-fill policy is a $ 1 for the mug. — Great set of outdoor seating — Relatively friendly staff — Internet connects and remains connected. Relatively slow speeds of 2 – 3 down, but sufficient for web or simple work. — Quiche was $ 3.80 but turned out to be a bad choice. Microwaved too-small slice of egg grease from Costco-ish with deflated mushy crust. Note to self: don’t get suckered into that again. Food was the bad spot, but I’m willing to return and try again.

Went today for the first time and LOVED it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, great for studying but not too quiet so you can still sit and have a long conversation like we did. I had the café au lait, it was very rich and strong but with a little added sugar it was perfect for my taste. I’m def coming back.
