Business Owner

In 1979, Kip Husk, a Junior in High School, began hand-​painting signs at his Mothers’ kitchen table. His clients were mainly local retail companies. After a short time in business, he established Husk Signs.

The clients soon began requesting various other types of signage such as banners, wooden and aluminum signs, billboard advertising and electric signs. Always willing to accept a challenge, Kip took the necessary steps to increase his company’s flexibility and ensure the clients satisfaction.

These steps included the purchase of a manufacturing facility on the north-​side of Evansville, IN, increased staff, and advanced production capabilities with the addition of computer automation.

After being accepted as an U/​L sign manufacturer, electric signs, channel letters, neon and electronic message centers became the heart of his business.
