History

Established in 1988.

Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School opened in 1988 as Holy Cross High School in Everett, Washington. The school was founded as an independent Catholic high school through the vision and energy of a small group of parents committed to providing their children with a college preparatory, Catholic education within the Everett community.

In 1999, the school moved to its current campus in the South

Everett/Mill Creek area. At that time, the school’s name was changed to Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School in honor of the late Archbishop Murphy, a strong supporter of the school in its early years. For 23 years, AMHS has served families in the North Puget Sound area as an approved Catholic school under the auspices of the Seattle Archdiocese. AMHS is known for its faith-filled, rigorous college prep curriculum and supportive community atmosphere.
