History

Established in 2003.

After 8 years of being a pest control technician John Ciampa founded Beantown Pest Control in 2003.

Originally in 1996 a family member (Joe Albano) who had owned a pest control company had let John help on various pest control jobs mainly through-​out the summer when school was not in session. He didn’t really take this career too serious due to his future career intentions of working with & repairing computers. Pest Control then was just a way for John to make a couple extra bucks plus it was fun to be able to work with his friend. Gradually year after year he would work with Joe increasing his work hours & education in the trade naturally with no real intentions on the career. He eventually went on to get professionally certified with 3 state licenses mainly for pest control just to be more marketable in case the computer thing didn’t work out. We recently purchased a second multi family home in Everett and was surprised to find out that we had what seemed to be a considerable insect problem in multiple units. Never having this problem before, we looked to Unilocal to find our solution. We called John and like many of the other reviews on here, he was quick to respond. He surveyed the area and put us at ease and after a couple of visits and some advice we haven’t seen anything since. Thanks a million John for helping us evict those unwanted bugs quickly and painlessly as well as the prompt, professional service!

I recently bought a condo in Medford, which had a pre-​existing termite problem. I looked around Unilocal and found Beantown Pest Control was one of the higher rated companies in the area.
John came by and did a free inspection of the problem and gave a very reasonable quote to take care of the issue. He came by today and, again, was extremely friendly and good to work with. He laid out my options, and answered all of the questions I had about the process (this is my first time owning a home, therefor first exterminator). He offered to come back a year from now and make sure things worked out as planned.
I can’t speak highly enough of John and his business, will work with him again if something else comes up.

I will keep this short and sweet and rhyming.
Two months ago when I woke up yawning,
I saw a red bug crawling,
up my arm, it’s moving,
I cried aloud «o hell no»
I called my sister for the Pest Guy’s number, name, and so
She reminded me that his name is John from Beantown Pest Control
She said «Call John and he’ll take care of it»
I did and I have to say his work is legit.
Haven’t seen any signs of bugs for while,
I will spread Beantown Pest’ Control’s name a thousand mile!

Beantown pest control has the best customer service!!! John, the owner, is very professional and friendly! He also replies quickly to all of the photo emails of bugs I have forwarded to him, that were in my home and was unsure about. He was on point every time! He also came out to inspect my home and gave a free inspection, all within hours of contacting him. Very honest and didn’t con me into a service I didn’t need. Highly recommend Beantown Pest Control!!!

I used BTPC a few years ago for some roaches. The stuff he had was nontoxic to pets and worked terrific. His explanation and follow up were excellent.
I had problems communicating with John recently as he was having some issues with his email server. He has since rectified this. I did not get to use him this time but will recommend his business and definitely consider him in the future.

John was very responsive to my questions and concerns and was on time. He inspected the house and gave clear advice. Seems like he’s been doing this a while. I would definitely call him again if I had any issues pest related! The guy refused to take any money for an inspection because… he didn’t find anything. Highly recommended.

If you have a bug problem, call John and thank me later. John provided an extensive no charge evaluation of the situation and recommended treatment plans. He is professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. John worked around my schedule and solved the problem in one visit and even called to follow up. I could not be happier.

5 stars! I am so impressed with Beantown Pest Control. I called on a Saturday in a panic because I suspected that I had bed bugs in my apartment. I left a message and within five minutes John called back and I was able to schedule an inspection. John came to my apartment and was able to look at the bug I had trapped that morning (yuck) and told me that I did not have bed bugs. To my relief, John explained that the bugs were actually tiny spiders. He offered several tips for getting rid of the spiders and explained that insecticide could be used but that it was not necessary. John was very knowledgeable, reassuring, professional and personable. I highly recommend Beantown Pest Control and I will surely work with them in the future if another problem arises.

This place seriously deserves more reviews! I had a bug issue in my apartment, and thanks to fellow Unilocalers, I was able to find Beantown Pest Control. I called probably around 10 companies and Beantown was one of the first to return my calls (yay!).
I worked directly with John, the owner. Super friendly guy, good sense of humor and professional. Good pricing. As others have mentioned, he offers free inspection and lists out options for you even if you decide to find someone else to do the job. Very responsible in follow ups. I freaked out a bit when I saw a bug a few days after my first treatment, and John offered to inspect again and do a spot treatment. Working with John gave me a peace of mind.
Will definitely work with John and Beantown Pest Control again! Ain’t nobody got time for bugs!

I would never wish termites on anybody, but if you ever find yourself needing an exterminator for those (or other pests), call these guys!
If you have read my other two reviews for other exterminating companies, you will realize how difficult it is to find one that:
A. Calls you back and
B. Shows up.
If we continue with my dating analogy in those other reviews, Beantown Pest Control is like the guy you want to take home to meet your parents. He shows up on time (not only did John show up but he arrived ten minutes early), smiles (he even told us our baby was cute), and treats you to dinner (okay he didn’t offer us dinner, but he offers free estimates which is apparently not standard in this industry as the competition quoted $ 150 just to do an inspection). FYI they do offer a paid report option if needed.
We thankfully do not have termites but we are somewhat glad that the home inspector suggested we might as we never would have crossed paths with this exterminator otherwise. You can contact them via phone or online. If you contact them online, it says they respond within 24 hours. John, however, contacted within minutes on a weeknight. We were impressed with his friendly demeanor, customer service, and knowledge, and would hire him again without hesitation. Hopefully, our next home will not necessitate his services, but if it does, we will be making a second date with him. :)

Wow– we have been so impressed with the customer service we have received from Beantown Pest Control.
After suspecting that we had a flea problem, we contacted three pest control services on a Saturday morning. The only one to call us back the same day was John from Beantown Pest Control. And he called back within five minutes.
What struck us the most about John was that gave us advice about the problem, what our options were, and didn’t push his services down our throat. My husband probably called him five times that day, and he returned calls promptly. After finally catching one, he asked us to text him a picture, and when we couldn’t get our camera phone to work, he came to our house to take a look. He gave us options to try on our own, and gave us pricing on his services.
I would recommend John at Beantown Pest Control to anyone– his service is top notch and you don’t find customer service as good as his anymore.

I dealt directly with the owner John. I had some bee issues and some carpenter ant issues. After a single treatment all of the problems seemed to have gone away. Very professional, on time, reasonable rates. If I ever have need for an exterminator again Beantown will be the first place I call.
