Galaxy Moving

My sister tried to hire Galaxy Moving… This business (and I will use that term VERY loosely about them) should by far be shutdown. 25+ years experience (yeah right) — With under three years of being in business. After being called the night before the move, to be told that they would call by 12pm and people there by 1:00pm. No call– Go figure and not only did people not show up until almost 5:00pm it wasn’t even GALAXY MOVING!- They contracted out to another company. I didn’t want to believe Jan W. review, but sure enough it happened. Honestly, call someone else, because that is what they do! If people wanted to deal with crappy service, people not showing up, and getting d*cked around– They will call Comcast.

I wonder who’s writng the «good» reviews. I too reserved them 3 weeks out and I called the day before. everything was fine until the day of the move when another moving company called me a said «Galaxy» called them and wanted them to move us. They said they couldn’t be there there until 5 this afternoon. The move was suppose to start at 10am. I told them to forget it and went out and hired a truck and moved myself. If you hire them «BEWARE».

I have moved several times and by far this was the best move ever. Richard and his team were very focused on making the customer extremely happy, which I was. They were excellent in managing pulling apart and rebuilding some difficult pieces of furniture and thinking out of the box on how to maneuver a large piece through a small area. His crew has worked together for a while and it shows. Each person on his team was concerned that the move went well. The movers even helped me move my groceries from one house to the other! I would recommend them to everyone based on their expertise and the way they handled the move with such care. In addition, their rate was extremely fair and within the range we agreed upon before move day.

Beware!!! Hire these guys at your own risk! We scheduled our move with them weeks in advance. We answered the usual questions about the number of rooms in our house, how many movers we wanted, etc. Originally, I thought we’d need 2 movers. Rich at Galaxy suggested 3 guys for a house our size, so I agreed that that probably made sense.
The day before our move, I called Rich to confirm we still had movers coming the following day. He seemed a little caught off guard, assured me that we still had guys coming, but mentioned that he thought he may have double booked us. It sounded like he’d forgotten about us. At any rate, he did confirm we’d have 3 guys out the following day around 9−10am. I let Rich know that with our house closing, we were on a strict timeline to get out on schedule.
Move day comes… About the time the guys should have been at or getting close to our house, I called Rich to see how far out they were. It was a little after 9am. I was told they were just getting the truck ready and heading right out. An hour late, at 11am, they showed up. It was 3 guys and a truck, as expected. We did a quick walkthrough of the house. Half of our stuff was already packed away in a storage unit, and we aren’t hoarders, so there was just an average amount of furniture and boxes (which were already all packed and neatly stacked in the garage for quick transfer to the truck). At this point, they tell me this is too much work. They said it would be a 10 – 12 day for them, and they didn’t want to do the job because they would have to do it all over again tomorrow (meaning that they had another move scheduled for the next day). They suggested coming back the next day with 6 guys to make it go faster. I let them know that waiting wasn’t an option. We had to be out that day. I asked if they could please just begin work with the 3 of them, and just get as much out as they could by the end of the day. Still, the answer was no, and they just wanted to come back tomorrow with more guys. I called Rich at the office, and left him a voicemail, telling him the situation and that we needed to get the guys working right away. No response.
Meanwhile the guys are out on the phone, assumedly with Rich. When they got off the phone, one of the movers told me that one guy said if the office said they had to stay, he was going to have someone come pick him up. I made another call or 2 to Rich, with no answer. Eventually, the guys left, saying they’d be back to the next day with 6 guys. I had no option but to let them drive away, hours late to begin the move, zero work done, and now having to spend moving time looking for help instead.
I ended up getting a friend to leave work, hired 1 mover on short notice, and had another friend of a friend come help. I had to go out a get a rental truck, wasting a ton of time. We didn’t actually get started moving anything until about 3pm. We worked our tails off and got everything moved and into the new house at 9:30pm. So 4 of us, (3 amateurs and 1 professional mover) completed in 6.5hrs, what the «professional» Galaxy movers said would take them 10−12hrs.
Galaxy Moving really left us in a terrible spot. To this day, Rich has never called back. And the 6 guys that were supposedly coming back the next day never showed up.
Galaxy Moving has demonstrated to me that they are unreliable, unprofessional, and have no business taking on time sensitive projects. The scheduling was sloppy. The movers I met were unmotivated, and full of excuses. They showed up late, did nothing, and never made any effort whatsoever to correct them problem. I’m sure they’re capable of doing a good job sometimes. But if you asked me for a mover you can count on, these guys would be at the bottom of the list.

These guys are wonderful! They were organized and efficient from the minute they arrived. They loaded up our condo very quickly and unloaded our new home even faster. They were nice, professional, and more importantly careful with our belongings. They were very mindful of their surroundings making sure they didn’t damage walls, light fixtures, etc. I was most impressed at the strength it took for our elliptical machine and leather sofa. They made it look so easy. The fee was much more reasonable than other companies that I contacted. Between the price and the kind voice on the phone, it was a no brainier that I was going to hire them. I am so glad that I did. Moving day was a breeze and stress free! Thank you so much! If I ever move again, I will definitely call Galaxy Movers!

Experienced and efficient movers with reasonable prices and a great attitude. They have a large enough truck to move an entire house in one trip. I Highly recommend Galaxy Movers to get the job done.
