Good stuff! Very well done fried cat fish, generous portion of jambalaya, great fritters. The young lady with the long black hair who served us was very nice and helpful.

Not impressed Ordered the 26.00 rib eye, full of fat and overlooked. Gumbo was flavorless and all rice. The cook was in the kitchen eating(chewing) the entire time. The only thing worth our 70.00 dinner for two was the cornbread. Sorry, won’t be back

So I have lived down south for most of my life and ever since moving to Washington I have been trying to find a good Creole restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to find olé soul creole. First I ordered the andoullie sausage and shrimp over grits and it was beyond amazing. I’m not a fan of grits but they were perfectly cheesy and the sauce was very authentic. Next I ordered the bowl of gumbo with a side of fried green tomatoes and cornbread.(was looking forward to getting jambalaya but was sadly disappointed they only serve it on thursdays) The gumbo was amazing! The only problem for me was that there was soo much okra and the green peppers were sliced way to thick which made them overpower the gumbo. As for the fried green tomatoes I was not so much a fan of. They weren’t very flavorful and also cut way to thick. BUT I would definitely go there again and maybe on a Thursday so I can try out their jambalaya!

Apparently Olé Soul has been around for a couple of years, and I missed the memo. My wife and I were finally able to make it in for dinner last night, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is smallish, with a very relaxed atmosphere. Service was prompt and friendly, and the food… oh my. We both had trouble deciding what to eat, because everything on the menu looked so good. We started with the prawns, andouille sausage and creamy grits. Amazing. For dinner I had the fried chicken with the mac and cheese. The chicken was lightly fried and perfectly seasoned, and the mac and cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had. My wife had the fried catfish, which was also delicious. I loved the corn bread that came with both our meals. If you haven’t been here yet, I highly recommend it. I know that we’ll be back soon.

This place is solid! Our server was hilarious and quick. The food was AWESOME, everyone at our table loved it. We ordered: — Ribs: Ribs fell right off the bone and were super juicy. I’m not big a coleslaw fan but this stuff was so good. I got the potato cakes with this. and they’re probably THE best sides on the menu. — Fried chicken — Crispy skin, nicely seasoned, and juicy inside. The portion was big too — we got 4 pieces! — Jambalaya — This could easily serve 2 – 3 people and was loaded with flavor, hush puppies and sausage. They ran out of the fried green tomato when I was there, so that is definitely what I want to try next.

Absolutely amazing family-owned and operated Southern-inspired restaurant just within the heart of downtown Everett(with a terrific view of the water front). I highly suggest trying their smoked ribs and their garlic mashed potatoes and corn bread is off the charts good! I can’t forget to mention how terrific their service is. Calley(sp?), the daughter of the owner, is very sweet and easy to talk too. This is a DEFINITE must visit! Especially if you love Southern/Creole food!

I am actually surprised anyone would consider this place great for southern cuisine. We had a reservation for 645 and came in a little early and waited as they got is a table ready. Sat down and were immediately told they were out of fried green tomatoes and their ribs(not the baby back though). We ordered drinks and the waiter was bouncing around with the other two women it seemed like chickens with their heads cut off. The restaurant itself is dirty and needs to be cleaned badly and organized. I don’t usually judge a shop on its décor because some of the best phở places are gross. Anyways service was not very good but now the food. The fried chicken wasn’t anything special the fact that a piece didn’t have a bone in it left me wondering if this was frozen chicken just thrown in a fryer. Corn bread was good but the bottom was burned and it had more of a maple flavor then corn. The gumbo was good but I noticed the chicken in it looked like the Costco canned chicken. It also had more of a tortilla soup flavor then gumbo. It’s hard for me to try a new southern creole place since kingfish café closed and sadly the reviewers that gave this place above 3 stars will never to get to try Kingfish to understand real and amazing southern creole. Sorry but the people were nice but the combo of bad things means my rating is lower. I wouldn’t recommend if you want some good hearty comfort food.

This is one of our favorite places to go! We used to go to The Prohibition Grill and then the food got crappy and we bought a Groupon for Olé Soul Creole soon after they opened since it was so close by and realized that the owner was the chef from The Prohibition Grill, just a couple blocks further down Hewitt making all of the awesome food The Prohibition Grill didn’t serve anymore. They have awesome cocktails that are so different from what you’ll find anywhere else; they have one that I always order; it has an anise flavor and is amazing! They also have a jalapeño margarita that’s awesome and I’ve been meaning to try their mojitos. The food is what keeps us coming back, though. The fried green tomatoes are so delicious, I was so sad that they were out of them last time we had dinner there. They serve them over their cheese grits and it’s the best appetizer and I seriously crave them. My husband loves the ribs, too. It’s nice that you can buy them for $ 2 each and get exactly what you want, they also let you make appetizers into meals by paying an extra $ 5 and then you pick a side and get corn bread. My favorite entrée is the southern blackened style catfish, it’s crispy and delicious, wrapped in a piece of bacon. You get to choose your side and all of the sides I’ve tried have been delicious, my favorite is the mac and cheese. The coleslaw and creole fried corn are also amazing. The portions are big and usually my husband and I share an appetizer and entrée and get an extra side or two(the sides are only $ 4 each if you want more than one with your dinner.) We try to go during happy hour and get a couple of drinks each. We end up stuffed, with plenty of left overs. The restaurant is pretty small with about 10 tables, it has a rustic feel with mismatched table cloths and different chairs and tables. They have a cute little bar where they make samples of their cocktails that they pass around for you to try and you can see into the kitchen and watch the owner and sometimes his wife if they’re busy cooking up your dinner. In the summer they have a back deck so you can enjoy the nice weather. Sometimes they serve a plate of sliced fruit when they bring you your water which I love. I think they make the fried green tomatoes out of the tomatoes that they grow in the back, too. The family that owns Olé Soul Creole are sweet and nice to chat with. I think they have their daughter and friends working when they’re busy on the weekend. We love supporting this small, family owned business and it’s our favorite restaurant in the area.

Phenomenal food and service was 5-stars! I have a dairy allergy and they totally catered to me to make sure there was plenty of options. The jambalaya was OUTSTANDING! Fried green tomatoes and fritters were equally outstanding! Highly recommend if your in the area!!!

Great tasting food, I’ve been missing good olé southern food. The atmosphere is very laid back with rythm and blues music playing in the background. They have happy hour where you can get pan fried oysters cheap. They taste very good and you get a good amount too. Definitely plan on coming back here it’s worth the drive. We live in lacey Washington.

Love it. Hidden gem on Hewitt. Had the shrimp and andouille with cheesy grits — the sausage was sweet with a spicy finish. Excellent. Fried green tomatoes were excellent too. Service was slow, appears to be 1 waiter, 1 bartender for the whole joint which was evident as the place filled up. Newspapers on the wall say the chef was on Iron Chef. The check was the only thing that came at record speed. I will be back here, thats for sure.

Just discovered this place! Where have we been for 2 years? We tried the Black Jack shrimp with cheese grits, the gumbo with jalapeños fritters and Bourbon crepes! The service by Ashley and Sylvia was excellent as was Rocky’s food! The drinks were generous and the prices were a bargain! It’s very casual and feels like you are eating in your Moms kitchen! It is so friendly and welcoming! Try it you will love it!

Long wait but worth it. Food is amazing. Kinda felt ripped off. Ordered the black prawns and I was given a plate with amazing sauce for the dish lots of veggies(I am not a vegetarian) with 3 pieces of shrimp. Just 3. I wish they gave me at least 6? It’s a very expensive plate for 3 shrimp. Lol. I’m not able to share my food because I only have 3 shrimp. Lol. Hilarious but the food is great. Make sure to request more than 3 shrimps for that black prawn. I might come back to try other dishes. The 45 min wait for the food is not acceptable though. The place was busy that time so I’m giving them a break. The bartender entertained us and gave us free shots so we don’t notice the long wait. Haha! Smart move. Lol.

I have to admit, once we saw that it was chef rocky that we had seen on Kitchen Nightmares we actually got up and left But, not want to waste money, we decided to go back and give it a try! This place is fantastic! We started off with a cup of gumbo and fried oysters. It was great! I had the half of fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and corn bread and my fiancé had the New York steak with shrimp and fries. My fiancé ordered his steak blue, and the chef cooked it to perfection! My fried chicken was just as good! I tried to convince my fiancé not to eat is corn bread so I could steal it off his plate, but no luck. This is truly a family restaurant. Chef Rockys daughter was our server. She was very friendly and accommodating! The chef even came out to check to see how my fiancé like to steak. We will definitely go back again and again and again!

After spending an afternoon up in the area, we were searching for some food to try out. We stumbled upon Olé Soul on groupon with a deal and decided to give it a try. As recommended by our waitress we got half rack of smoked ribs and the black jack prawns. Both came in huge portions and the sides on them were huge as well. I loved the food, it was homey and comfortable, and I can’t stress enough that the portions were massive! I had dinner for the next day too. My only complaint is that service was a bit slow for us to get our order taken, and especially to pay. We were hoping for a quicker meal but it was a bit slow. The food did come out really timely, and we were done eating really quickly too, it was great! Would definitely recommend! The mac and cheese is the ultimate side!

It has been far too long since the spirit of Mike West filled my palette. The NY surf and turf was perfect, as was the oysters and mojitos. Great atmosphere, staff that gets it. My only complaint is that my stomach is not larger. I’m hugging the chef!

A group of 17 dined here last night for our book club meeting. Tabs were easily split with an 18% gratuity added onto each tab. This was the first time I has been back since my previous review. I was tickled to see that there was a separate drink menu. As per my last review, the food is awesome and the staff is super friendly. Thank you for caring Olé Soul enough about my previous review to incorporate a few changes. I will be returning soon.
