History

Established in 1978.

In grafting and growing apple trees to start an orchard, Tom produced extra trees, and started the nursery selling these extras to the public. Thus, Cloud Mountain Farm as both an orchard and nursery started together. The nursery expanded to grow and sell many types of fruit and ornamental plants that thrive in the Northwest. Trial gardens and demonstration gardens have always played a part, where new varieties of plants could be evaluated. The orchards continue to be a part of the business, producing fruit and produce for sale at the Bellingham Farmers Market and at the farmstand.

Tom and Cheryl are Cloud Mountain Farm’s original owners. Cloud Mountain is now a non-​profit farm whose mission is to build experience, knowledge and community to expand dynamic local food systems.
