History
Established in 1924.
In 1924 the Minneapolis Rotary purchased Minnesota Govern Lind’s vacation property on Lake Minnewashta and gifted it to Camp Fire Girls (today, Camp Fire Minnesota). Since 1924, Camp Fire has offered summer camp to youth ever summer, connecting youth to outdoor learning.
Today, Camp Fire Minnesota, a nonprofit organization, guides youth and teens to discover their spark, or inner passions, and develop a growth mindset for youth to thrive. Through Camp Fire clubs and summer camp, youth engage in the natural world to catalyze growth. Camp Fire Minnesota is committed to making camp accessible to as many youth as possible by offering camp scholarships to families needing assistance.
