The service was very quick the food portions were tiny i ordered sweet and sour chicken and it had 5 pieces of chick with some bland sauce. The place is in a good location and it was quiet. The vegetarian options seem to be a lot larger. The tea was good.

Food is good, but not the best. The garlic chicken was good, but there was a lot of bamboo shoots. The cheese puffs were awesome, as usual.

Ming Wok is such a perfect little neighborhood restaurant nestled in the heart of Excelsior. I dream of their pot stickers when we’re not there. I have yet to be able to replicate them at home. The service is friendly and accommodating. We’re always substituting certain vegetables in and out of our dishes and they never bat an eyelash. The menu is huge, the options endless. I can’t say we’ve ordered anything that we didn’t end up liking. As far as Chinese food goes, Ming Wok ranks up there with the best of them.

Being a product of the Southwest suburbs, I am a lover of Ming Wok. It is a quaint little restaurant in the quaint little town of Excelsior. As much as I can appreciate great Asian cuisine, I know I am not qualified to properly critique it, however, my Cambodian friend swears by this place and says it is as authentic as they come. This place is great for dining in, but they also do take-out. My family used to order to-go once a month and we’d usually get their vegetable fried rice, shrimp lo mein, and kung pao chicken. All three dishes are wonderful and you’ll definitely have leftovers. It’s a small, best-kept-secret kind of restaurant so the service isn’t always the fastest but know you’re in for some great food. Also, stop by Capers(the boutique right next door) it has some darling items!

I found this place a few years ago — the very best, yummy won ton soup ever. The broth is to die for — if I ever have a bad cold I’m ordering gallons of this stuff. Delicious, ginormous won tons stuffed with pork, floating amongst lovely, green crispy bok choy(I think it’s bok choy, I’m not a vegetable expert). I’ve also had the pot stickers — awesome — the sweet and sour chicken — more awesome — and the chicken and pea pods — fabulous. Everything is always hot and freshly made. I’ve eaten at lots of Chinese places around the northern suburbs, and this is one of the best!
