I love the concept of paying for only what you get and the option of fresh ingredients. The location is perfect. A nice addition to Exeter. The staff seems young, uninformed on basics, and overall follow the stereotypes on teens running fast food, but are friendly. The place is clean. The prices are high but they give you a card for repeat customers. I look forward to my piña colada frogurt every time. It is a nice alternative to the other numerous ice cream shops around Exeter.

I have become a fan of Orange Leaf and have now been to the following locations: Epping 2X, Danvers 2X, Exeter 2X and Andover 5X. I have gotten to see how these franchises are made to work in the space they are in. This review will only detail this particular location. I will post reviews for the others independently. This location appears to be in the perfect spot, the center of Exeter, NH with local shops, town hall Phillips Exeter Academy and the Exeter Hospital to name a few. Depending on the time of the day or the day of the week you should be able to find a spot in the town in order to go in. The store is very small and it is narrow. They have capacity to have 12 different flavors going at once. I think all Orange Leafs have Vanilla and Chocolate as standard flavors so that leaves 10 up for variation in their cycle. The 2 times I have been in this location it has had younger and less mature employees working the counter. They have not asked if «I wanted to sample any flavors» as is the case in most Orange Leafs. They personally have to pump out the sample in the little paper cups so that takes effort. The people that I have seen working this store don’t seem to like effort. Just my observation. The toppings station is a bit more limited than most of the other locations and they don’t have the ice cream cone bowls like the brand new store in Epping. They don’t have white chocolate chips as a topping and this was the case the two times I was in. I know that another frustration for me is that the peanut butter based toppings are mixed in with all the others and I think they really should have they separated into their own section. Several of the other stores have HOMEMADE whipped cream which is very good. This location has READYWHIP. When I asked about this I was told that people think the homemade whipped cream is too messy and sprays on their clothes. Really??? Maybe the owners just don’t want to fork out the money for the nitrogen cartridges that are needed to make the whipped cream from heavy cream. I wonder if CORPORATE allows for this deviation to the«formula?» On my last visit, 4÷22÷2013, my daughter and I stopped off for a cool snack as she is on school vacation. After paying around $ 11.00 for our 2 yogurts we sat down as we had the place to ourselves. It was around 5:45PM. My phone alerted me to the fact that a wifi connection was present listed as Orange Leaf Customers yet the password was not listed anywhere in the store. I went up to ask one of the school aged employees(2 were present) what the password was as she had no clue. She picked up her cell phone made a call and gave me the password. That was easy! Then the fun began… Three guys, late high school maybe early college age walked in. Two of them sat down while one grabbed the large cup(ITISHUGE) and started to fill it to the top with all flavors under the sun. I turned to my daughter and said, «look at that cup it is going to cost $ 100.» He then started to put toppings on this massive mound of FROYO and I figured, this guy must be new to this! Well, I was totally wrong as his buddies continued to laugh it up! Blonde girl who was SITTING on the counter hops off, asks how many spoons and she gives him three. She forgot one thing… TOWEIGHTHEFROYOANDCOLLECTHISMONEY!!! This was THEFT! I called the location on 2 separate days for a total of 3 calls trying to leave a message for Omar, the franchise owner to let him know what is going on in his store. I sent a message to Orange Leaf via their website and nobody has called back to say THANKS! So, if you know someone at this Orange Leaf I assume you are also getting free product while the common folks pay high prices to cover the«loss» for the free-bees that are given to employees friends.
