This review is for the restaurant side. The food here is good. Service has always been solid. Expect to wait on a Sunday morning. The inside is decent but could use some TLC/refresh. The exterior and sign needs a facelift. Another Unilocal reviewer thought it was a car parts store. C’mon Rogan’s lets take it to the next level your almost there!

At 8:45 am we were able to walk in and be seated. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Our meals were both very tasty. After fresh muffins and cinnamon buns went by us on trays we had to take one home with us! Looking forward to a yummy treat after our drive home.

We just spent 3 nights in Exeter. I asked a local where we might find the best breakfast, and the immediate answer was«Rogan’s.» We had breakfast at Rogan’s two of three mornings(they are closed on Tuesdays or we’d have eaten there three mornings!). Service was swift and friendly. I’m sure it gets busy on weekends but it is worth the wait if there is one. The staff was hustling, so if there is a wait, it is because they are full, not because of slow service. And a full breakfast joint is always a sign of success. OMG is about all I can say about the benedicts. My advice: order your benedict with cornbread instead of an english muffin. The combination of their fresh cornbread and their fresh hollandaise and a properly poached egg is ridiculous. I will dream about it. The crumbly but soft-light, slightly moist toasted cornbread was perfect for this. I felt like I was eating corn cake. Pancakes and french toast at adjacent tables looked pretty amazing too. No one was leaving anything on the plate, in spite of ample portions, so I presume these items tasted as good as they looked.

Rogan’s is my favorite breakfast place in Exeter. Service is friendly, food is excellent, and prices are typical for breakfast. They have good options for little ones(can you say giant chocolate chip pancakes, and hot cocoa piled high with whipped cream?), the eggs benedict — my favorite — is delicious, and most important, they have really good coffee. The bakery is also pretty amazing. Seating and the kitchen can be a bit slow at peak times on the weekend, but that’s typical for any popular breakfast joint. Servers are attentive when the kitchen is slow. Part of the reason I love Rogan’s is that it reminds me a bit of the place I used to go to for breakfast with my dad years ago in Mass. I know that won’t really apply to you, but I mention it because I may affect my opinion a bit. Even still, I’d highly recommend Rogan’s even without that added meaning for me.

Received terrible service the last few times I’ve been there. Kept us waiting an hour for food and didnt even check in to see if we needed anything in the meantime. Gave us juice after having sat for 20 min. We had somewhere to be, so never ended up eating. Server didn’t apologize and made us pay the $ 8 for our juice. Never going there again.

Absolutely a traditional American breakfast. From eggs to waffles they have it all. We bring all of our foreign friends there to have the grilled corn bread. Sometimes you have to wait for a seat, but it is worth it and they never rush you out the door. Get coffee elsewhere but the food is great for a local joint.

Jam packed for breakfast on a Sunday morning so a wait wasn’t unexpected and honestly wasn’t that bad. Friendly service and the food for a party of 6 came very quick. The food itself was decent but not spectacular. Good value for the price, decent portion size. The meat lovers scrambler was a little light on the actual meat, but everything was cooked as ordered.

Straight up American breakfast. Friendly, average food, huge portions, atmosphere is a little rough, furniture in tough shape, carpet a mess, but the place seem generally clean.

Such friendly staff and fabulous food! My husband and I stopped in for brunch and had such a nice time. The staff was all interacting with the families and kids at the tables, it was adorable. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved along quickly and we had food before we knew it. Not just food… delicious food! The grilled breads and muffins are not to be missed. My mouth is watering just writing this. Must go to Rogans.

OMGOMGOMG. I never even knew this place was a restaurant. I thought it was a car parts place or something just based on the sign outside. I was wrong. It was the best best best best breakfast I ever had and worth the kinda long wait(while seated). I got an egg white omelet with spinach and mushroom– perfectly done with a side of homemade bakery bread baked right there– whole grains. YUMMMMMM.

This review is for the bakery side only. Went in on the Thursday before Christmas mis morning hoping to find something decent or even a menu. There was nothing on the bread shelf and in the pastry case there are some small cookies and canoili’s that were not even filled enough. Quite disapointed seems this place has not changed with the times and taste of today.

I got my wedding cake here and everyone told me it was the best wedding cake they had ever tasted. What else can I say?

Long lines with too much hit or miss food. There shouldn’t be a wait with 3 people behind the counter one person in front of me and no one else there. Customer service can be over looked I guess if the food is amazing but really this place is sub par.

I have been to Rogan’s several times, always for breakfast. The staff is always friendly but the food is just okay. I really need to say something about the homefries here: twice I have had homefries served to me that were completely desiccated and unseasoned. It looked like they had been cooked much earlier, then reheated just before being put on my plate. It was like trying to eat fried pieces of cardboard. This is extremely disappointing to me as I look forward to good(or at least edible) home fries on the rare occasion that I go out for breakfast.

Always a long wait and not all that great. Their bakery sitting is unused and they could expand in there to make their wait less. Food is ok, nothing to write home(or Unilocal) about.

Sorry, Unilocalers. You failed me this time. Veggie burger was burned, and a plain flour tortilla with a few flavorless black beans, cheese and fried eggs are not huevos rancheros. Really should be CORN tortilla and refried beans or at least more black beans with spices, and hot(temp) salsa(«ranchero sauce») on top. You normally cook the eggs in the salsa or sauce, but at least have hot salsa on top. Had to ask(someone else) for a little cold salsa. And service was weak. They left the check and never even said thank you.

Rogans IS the breakfast place in Exeter! Great people, get there early. Typically a wait on weekends.

Another trip to Rogan’s, another perfect breakfast. It was clean, friendly, fast, and delicious. If that wasn’t enough, we showed up on a Saturday morning and didn’t have to wait for a table. The people who came in 15 minutes later didn’t time it as well but I’m sure it was worth the wait.

i have to admit i am biased. i am in love with the rogan family. but their philosophy mixed with good from scratch food, friendly service and way too cheap prices wins the coveted five stars. i am a breakfast snob if you already gathered from my other reviews. this is because i am not a fan of breakfast but if you give me other different options and make them really yummy i will cave and love you alot. and rogans fits the bill. i like to say it is the kinder gentler cheaper friendly toast. i totally dig the benedict on corned beef hash on cornbread(it has a name but i call it the rogan). the eggs and toast cheap and delivers if you are a plane jane. if you are adventurous usually the specials will hit ya. i have had a fiddle head omelet, banana bread french toast and a few other yummy design breakfasts… they are super fast unlike the toast and super cheap very unlike the toast. let me tell you a few secrets that are huge in changing your life. they make the best wedding cakes.seriously. the make the most amazing pies… the crust is gold standard and the fillings perfect. i no longer make pies i order. and honestly now my family calls me a month ahead to remind me to order the pies from rogans. they are waiting at the door for me when i arrive. chocolate cream pie is a french silk and superior quality you find in a 3 star restaurant. the cherry tart and sweet and packed… lemon meringue there are no words. whoopie pies are better than whoopie guy… eclairs best in new england… no my mom is a connasieur… the perfect mix of cream and custard and the pastry is firm but not crusty and never soggy… english muffin toasting bread a rarity and needs to be eaten. old fashion hot dog buns. do you know anyone that makes these? kitchen 106 in portsmouth should order these and serve their poboy oyster sandwhich in this instead of a kaiser roll from the pantiadioso company. lunch who cares but grilled cheese yum, but the tuna melt is top notch …
