This is our favorite burger place. Fantastic sweet potato fries and amazing sundaes. Favorite burgers are the Teriyaki and Santa Barbara! By the way, the price is right(not overpriced like just about every other NJ burger joint, tastes yummier and a great atmosphere. Very family friendly.

Good quality ingredients and fantastic menu. Price point is what you’d expect for a higher end burger joint. Definitely worth the trip every time. Staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. Would return or recommend to a friend.

Was not impressed. The burger patties seemed like they were pre-formed frozen ones. The rolls looked and tasted like the cheapest Sysco had to off. It was clean and staff was nice.

Huh, the Habit Burger?! I’ve never heard of this place before but after a quick suggestion from my lovely fiancé we decided to head on out to this local spot. I’ll keep it short and simple. It’s amazingly great for a burger spot. The place is packed which makes seating hard to find but it’s definitely worth the hassle! The burgers are delicious, the veggies are fresh, the fries are crisp, and the environment is clean & bright. Best of all is the price. They charge under $ 9 for a Chaddar Burger combo. Lol, those are McDonald’s prices but with quality. I tried a small side of ceaser salad which hit the taste buds as well. I would definitely make this my #1 burger spot going forward. Just saying… :-)

Wow that was a good burger! I have never been to a Habit Burger. I understand they are becoming a nice size franchise and if the experience I have had at this location is the norm I think this place is going to be hugely successful. That said… Let me get to the review. I have only been to this location once before I had the pleasure of eating here and unfortunately they were closing up as we walked in. They greeted us kindly and apologized that they were unfortunate closed. They were very cheerful & polite and that impressed me. I knew I would be back. When we finally got to eat here it was the 1pm lunch rush. Things were busy, but everything ran very smoothly and organized. The restaurant was clean and while it was busy, it was calm and had a relaxed atmosphere. I could see people clearly having a nice experience. Nice selection of food and pretty resonate price for the obvious quality of food. When we ordered the young lady who took our order was polite, patient and had a smile on her face. The order was taken with clear attention to detail for exactly what we wanted. When the order was complete and I was walking away I noticed anther customer’s burger on sourdough and I wanted to change my burger to be on sourdough. I asked her right before she helped the next in line and she quickly made the change with a smile and no fuss. I know this sounds like a minor thing, but many of us had tried this at other places and the staff can act annoyed or even angry that you are inconveniencing them. I was struck by how much I appreciated that and her attitude. I mentioned it to my wife because I was so pleased with the service. When the food was quickly ready and I went up to retrieve it was handed our food by another very friendly person. It looked and smelled fantastic and I walked away smiling. Before I took a bite I again remarked to my wife how much I liked this place so far. The burger was fantastic. Cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful with the cheese melted so well it was gooey, but not a mess. The veggies were crisp and clearly fresh and the sourdough was super crisp and perfectly toasted. I normally like a good amount of ketchup on my burger, but I didn’t put any on and I did not need it. It was so good just like it was. The fries were crisp and well cooked, not too salty and not all greasy. Good enough to not need ketchup, but even better with. Very good all the way. My wife had a chicken sandwich and was also very pleased, but I was really loving mine. I kept on trying to get her try my burger, but she didn’t. I kept saying to my wife while we were there and days after how much I liked Habit and how much I am looking forward to going back. She thought it pretty peculiar because I am ofter very critical of places and especially of the many times rude, unprofessional or lazy staff. This place has my future business and I am really looking forward to going back. I think the staff and management should be commended for doing such a great job. It is appreciated by me.

Similar to In-N-Out — really yummy! I LOVELOVELOVE that you can get your burger lettuce-wrapped instead of with a bun. I always order bunless but to have that as an actual option on the menu and make it so it’s easy to still eat with my hands? Awesome. Really tasty burgers. Fries were okay. Nothing special.

Fresh burgers topped with quality vegs and crispy fires. They have a pepper station which won me over. The price is great for the quality you get and the service was great. Love this place when craving a quick fast burger.

Pulled into a quality strip center in Fair Lawn, NJ to go to a Starbucks. I saw the Habit Burger and went in. I had never heard of Habit Burger before, but will certainly remember it. The first thing you notice should how pristine it is inside. Clean, bright, and stocked. Great booths too. Many you choices too, including a tuna burger. I ordered the $ 3.50 Charburger with Cheese(55-cents extra). It comes with mayonnaise, pickle, fresh tomato, lettuce and caramelized onions on a toasted bun. They also have a combo with drink and fries for $ 7.10. What’s amazing is how big it it, and how tasty even if the law tells them to cook it medium-well. That said, it’s full of flavor. Great bun too! Just a fantastic burger! Also, a great selection of drinks that you serve yourself. Fantastic Strawberry Lemonade and Lemonade. As good as the food it, it doesn’t compare to the staff and management. What a great bunch of people. I’ve never seen such incredible people and the way they treat their customers. They literally bend over backwards and can’t do enough.

This place is pretty good. It’s as good as smash burger but not as good as shake shack, which is, in my opinion, the best fast food burger of all time. But the food is really, really fresh. Every review talks about a long wait but when I went there was no line and we walked straight to the register and ordered and received our food probably ten to fifteen minutes later. That was awesome. Everything was just-been-cooked hot, which I liked. All in all it was pretty good and I would come back.

I’ve been giving out tons of 5-star ratings lately; but this is well deserved. They just put up a new mini shopping mall in my hometown and figured I would try this spot. Ask my girlfriend and she’ll tell you I’m a bit of a burger enthusiast myself. The burgers here are kickin’ — awesome bbq burgers, bacon is perfect, fries are equally as awesome. The inside of the actual place is super modernized and there’s a ton of seating inside and out. Perfect summer spot for a burger with some friends.

I think Habit smokes smash burger and 5 guys. I would rate those a 3.5 and habit a 5. Habit has better fries which makes the whole meal a better experience. There is something up with the floor though. This has nothing at all to do with the food but the floor is a little slippery as you walk back towards the bathrooms. I am shocked that everyone doesn’t love this place. I have recommended a few people and they have all agreed. Habit is #1 in this space.

No love for the Albacore tuna sandwich? This is quite possibly and in all likelihood the premier fast food burger anywhere. It is made from a complete sushi grade tuna filet served on your choice of buns with lettuce, tomato, tarter & teriyaki sauces. The tuna is ultra fresh and top quality, best served medium rare. At $ 7 it is a bargain, a steal even. It is the best tasting tuna sandwich I have ever had and I really can’t imagine it being usurped by anything, certainly nothing remotely close in price. So, while everyone else can rave about how awesome their char burgers, fries and onion rings are, I will take the high road; the healthy road. Order this burger, eat it and smile. Your body will do the same. Promise.

The Habit has a great story about being from Santa Barbara, CA., since 1969. Now I wanted to see if the burger was as great as I’ve heard. I walked in at 7:00PM, there was a substantial line, but it moved very quickly, so I wasn’t a big deal. The menu was very organized, not too big and that made it easy to make a choice and not hold up the line. I ordered the Original Double Char Burger with cheese and bacon. I decided to go with what made them famous. The meal came with french fries and a medium drink which could be refilled all night long. The burger was very, very good and nicely seasoned. They only cook them one way, which is cooked all the way through. It doesn’t matter though, because the burgers are somewhat thin. They stack the lettuce and pickles on the bottom, with the caramelized onions on top. B+ The french fries were tasty but I wish they were piping hot. They were a little cool, which always diminishes the experience. Just good, nothing special. C+ The drink selection was very nice and they had three different iced tea selections, all of which were unsweetened. That is refreshing for those of us who don’t like it too sweet. The iced teas were very, very good. A+ Service was prompt and friendly. The facility was very clean and modern. Just one small recommendation. The men’s room has a urinal and a commode but it lacks a partition, which only allows one person in the men’s room at a time. The bathroom is plenty big enough, and quite frankly should have been built with the ability to allow access by more than one person at a time. This should get fixed immediately.

I highly recommend the Albacore tuna sammy on sourdough with grilled pineapple or the grilled chicken Caesar(strike that, any Caesar) I really probably shouldn’t rate a general burger place 5 stars but quite simply, there isn’t a 4.5 and they are definitely past a 4. The alternative meals here are seriously good and the other places in the given boring area are comparatively boring(Qdoba,) overpriced(Noodles, StarBucks,) or just worse(Noodles, Qdoba.) The only place better around here is Anthony’s unless you want to go a lil’ distance. I’ve gone here a whole lot of times over the past several months. The Caesar Salad as well as the Albacore Tuna Sandwich(yes, a filet, not just cut up) is actually quite delicious and unexpected. The portion size is excellent also. The house dressing, a thickened balsamic(what fast food burger place has good balsamic?) is nice as well. In terms of the burgers, I usually get a burger topped with pineapples and their others or the Teri-meal. The service is nicer here than most burger places. It’s like other burger places, but with much better alternate options, what’s not to like?

Came in on a Sunday evening around 6:30, and it was a packed! Definitely busier than I thought it would be on a Sunday evening. I guess the warm weather and first real glimpse of Spring has brought everyone out of hibernation! The prices aren’t too bad, but I care more about the burger. I got an original Charburger which comes with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, mayo and pickles on a toasted bun, and of course, in California style, I had to get avocado on it too! I was with oth My cousin got the fresh squeezed strawberry lime juice, and it tasted like concentrate strawberry lineade with tons of sugar! Eh. Not what I think of when I think of ‘hand crafted juice’. I hope the burger fares better. So the actually patty tastes like a glorified Burger King patty. There’s a wimping amount of mayo on it that I forgot I even took a bite of meat. The bread though, tastes like Fuddrucker buns(though mine was also slightly burnt aka charred) and that makes me feel nostalgic. Also, with the amount of lettuce on the burger, I probably could have gotten away with calling it a salad. I forgot to take a picture of my receipt, but they ordered each burger I got on the receipt and on the wrapper so I knew which one was which! Very helpful! Would I go here again? Nope. Too many better burger places around.

For being a casual fast food chain restaurant, it’s a really good place to grab a nice burger bite to eat. It’s your typical normal fast food restaurant layout, but more California style(well because the chain originated from California). It reminds me of In-n-Out. Food selection: typical burger selections, but they also indicated that you can enjoy your burger lettuce style, which means it’s a burger but with two lettuce wraps in between instead of bread. Getting the Charburger meal(comes with fries and drink), I found the burger was really good, but, the fries were really smooth. I don’t know about the fries, but I kind of was raving over them when I took my first bite. The fries are a definite plus. I also liked how the employees come around and do quasi-server work(taking your food, refilling drinks, etc); it’s pretty awesome! All ain all, I’d come back here, it’s as good or maybe even better than Smashburger. However, Shake Shack will always be bae to me.

For a fast food place, the food was alright. The veggie burger was almost too perfect, perfectly shaped — is it home made? im torn. i think so but they must use some perfect mold in order to make it, because even the meat burger was perfectly shaped. You can tell hands didnt make this. The bun was nice and fresh, it needed more cheese tho. One thing i enjoyed was the option to get raw or cooked onions. Also, a nice flare to this was two slices of cucumber – never had that before but i liked the crunch and the freshness. Like i said the burger needed more cheese – also $ 1 extra for cheese. this is complete crap. The fries were okay, i feel needed to be cooked a little longer. The staff was nice and friendly, but kinda slow.

My first visit — they did well! Although new I did not see any hiccups in my visit. The line moved quickly, my food was ready within a few minutes, the servers were all friendly and the tables were clean. When we were done eating the servers came around and helped clean — Wow, I hope they keep this up! My burger was made as requested. I thought it was seasoned properly and the sour dough bread it was served with was great. We utilized the indoor seating but you can sit outside. Mostly just a parking lot view but I love the area it’s in. You can walk across the way and pick up a Starbucks or an ice cream after dinner. I definitely will be making this a Habit :)

This morning I read the headlines on one of my favorite sites: «The Country’s Best Burger Comes From A Chain You’ve Probably Never Heard Of» Huh? A major burger chain I have never heard of, AND its rated the«best fast food burger in America» by consumer reports? I rushed to add it to Unilocal database to help inform the North NJ community. Apparently, The Habit Burger Grill was a chain previously reserved for west coast folks… until now! They originated in CA, and now they are invading the east coast, first stop — Fair Lawn, New Jersey! The opening day for the NJ location was Monday, August 18th2014. They claim to serve freshly ground(never frozen) patties grilled over an open flame to order and apparently most of the other food is prepared fresh in-house as well. They also offer a complimentary condiment bar, a welcome feature I miss with the local Fuddruckers being closed for some time now. I know where I will be escaping my office-cave to eat lunch today! The first, Habit Burger Grill east coast location, right in Fair Lawn, NJ! Exciting! Post-lunch feedback: OK, maybe not so exciting :(I have a stomach ache. In my opinion Habit Burger should definitely be considered a ‘fast food burger’ to be compared to the likes of Wendy’s and Sonic Burger since it cannot hold a candle to a solid burger place. Today at 2:30PM the line was out the door and I was very excited, however the food certainly did not meet my expectations. I ordered a double char burger with standard fries and a side of ranch dressing and my girlfriend ordered a single char-burger with a side of onion rings. I consider the both of us to be seasoned burger tasters and we routinely compare consumed burgers to the competition. We would both agree that this was a very salty hamburger with noticeable ‘char’ flavor… The only problem is that the ‘char’ flavor honestly seemed to remind me of a Burger King whopper. The fries were pretty good but also remind me of a fast food joint. I was not impressed at all with the experience. Consumer reports failed. Long live Unilocal

I’m actually still sitting here while i write this review. For a place that just opened, the habit burger is doing an excellent job. I ordered a double char with bacon and cheese with fries and onion rings. Service friendly and enthusiastic, they were probably trying really hard to impress. They did. The food was very good. Kicks the crap out of local chains, I.e.(Shake Shack, Steak & Shake, Bobby Flay’s, etc.) Burger tasted obviously flame grilled as advertised. Pricing was OK, gets expensive as you add stuff, but worth the prices. Fries and onion rings were pretty standard, but good. I like that they have a free pepper bar with jalapeños and peppers. I’ll definitely be back here.
