I eat here often and love to bring friends, because it is different from most lunch stops. All fresh. Baked goods are their own, baked right here! DONOTMISSTHEMINESTRONESOUP! Their food is not loaded with salt so you can actually taste the fresh vegtables. And for my husband, the meat lover, the meatball sandwich is his favorite.

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago to pick up a variety of pastries to bring to my grandparents. The girl who took my order and rang me up was very helpful and gave suggestions on what to order. Everything I bought was delicious! I will be back :)

I am very familiar with this company’s pastry and have always been pleased with it. In This particular location see staff are most pleasant and efficient. It is unfortunate that today I had a salad including chicken breast, in which the chicken was rubber. If They can’t do lunch properly they should avoid it altogether.

After recently spending three weeks in Italy, I’ve come to miss the delicious paninis, gelato, and sweet treats. But, Dianda’s does a great job filling in those gaps. I first came here a few years ago with my mom and we make it a point to go each time I’m home. We get cakes here for Birthdays and other events-they’re fantastic and taste homemade. The lunch menu is great, there’s a wide variety of foods from salads to sandwiches. The Verdura panini is incredible!!! It’s a family-owned, cute little spot in Old Fair Oaks. The staff is usually hard at work, but when they have a chance to talk they’re always so friendly. It’s one of my favorite spots for lunch!

Welcome to little italy. It was refreshing to walk in and smell itialian food and bakery items. It was very welcoming walking in and seeing all the desserts. And the ladys working there all had true itialian accents. Which made me feel warm inside, cause i haven’t had any great itialian food really since i came to California. Bowl clam chowder 3* It definitely wasn’t new England clam chowder, but i get that being on the west coast eating in a itialian restaurant, it was a little loose for my liking and it had big«jojo» size potato in it.(Potato cut the long way and in big chunks). But it still had clams and tasted decent. Chicken pesto sandwich on ciabatta bread 4* Pesto is really good, chicken was cooked great, cheese was melted to a perfect gooeyness, and the bell peppers were great, but the bread was slightly grilled extra and the ends when bit into was hard, but the rest of the bread was soft. Not sure if its supposed to be grilled but definitely better if it was not. Meatball sandwich 4* It was one huge meatball cut in half and placed on the sandwich and cut in half, sauce was amazing, and cheese was fully melted, the only draw back was the meatball was a little dry inside, tasted good but dry. The best thing. portabella mushroom sandwich 5* The sandwich had plenty of portabella in it, also with the great pesto sauce and had artichokes. Grilled red pepper, and again perfectly melted cheese all over. Each plate came with tiny sea shells in the pesto sauce with a fews peas inside. That was really good. Décor is very nice, have a bunch of itialian relics located throughout the store. we all were full and decided to pass on desserts, even though they looked really good. I will go back and try them on a empty stomach, caus i dont want to try them 6 hours later after buying them and be disappointed that i didn’t eat them when i got them. Ciao, till next time. Cant wait to try the decadent desserts! And they also have itialian soda! :)

Delicious chocolate cake and amazing staff! This is what a bakery should be like. I was sold the minute I walked in and smelled the place.

I love, absolutely LOVE, trying new bakeries and I’ve been craving cannoli’s. I brought my sister here and almost immediately the vibe wasn’t pleasant. I asked for cannoli’s and one of the employees gave me a snotty attitude and rudely said they didn’t have any. We were here early, so it’s not like they ran out. This same employee ignored me after instead of seeing if I would like anything else. I got in line again and waited for another employee, she told me it was a 20 minute wait for the cannoli’s and after getting a dozen and trying one out, it wasn’t worth it. The rude customer service, snobby attitude from an employee… NOPE! I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Its been a while since my last review on this place, but wow! It seems like they really have stepped up the service, the older folks who work there still seems a bit grumpy here and there, but overall the entire quality of this establishment has improved so much! Their food hasn’t changed at all, its still fantatstic!

The pastries were stale last time we went there and we got a sampling of a few kinds. They just weren’t any good at all. Also, the people behind the counter are so freaking rude! Just snotty and unfriendly. I’ll be going to a different place from now on and won’t bother with them anymore. Too bad, because the one in San Francisco used to be one of our favorites and I was happy to have one near me out here. Actually, I went here last year and it was better. I wonder what happened?

«I’ll choose my girls over American’s any day!» Recently went to lunch here with my mom between massages. Needless to say it did NOT help me relax. When the owner came by the table to ask about our lunch, my mother whispered«the food is GREAT, but I got a bit of attitude from the cashier…» Long story short, the owners response was«well maybe it’s you who has an attitude, I’ll take my girls over Americans any day!». I’ll admit, I had not expected her to be at all sympathetic, but that response was fairly shocking. My mother’s mouth literally hung open. She went on to tell us several times that she gets her workers from elsewhere and Americans are too lazy and her girls will actually work. Told us that obviously we were the ones at fault and her girls NEVER do anything wrong, and she’s certainly never gotten a complaint. Well, this lazy American certainly won’t worry about paying her rent anymore… *shakes head*. Little does she know that mom frequents her place, and takes clients there for lunches. Or… she DID. Her food isn’t THAT good. And a plain salad for $ 9??? Wow. Beware!

My updated post for this place: No more Dianda’s. Here is a link to an Italian rum cake recipe:
I no longer need to come to Dianda’s for their rum cake. I do not miss the snobby workers at all!

Their cannoli is legendary from here to San Francisco(the bakery was founded in North Beach), and their reputation is well deserved. However, the cannoli is just the tip of the iceberg: Fresh baked artisan bread(available on the weekends), cakes, baked goods of all kinds, and a great brunch/lunch menu. One of the best kept secrets in the area. Tip: The artisan bread, available on the weekends, is super popular and tends to sell really fast, but they bake it continuously during the day, so if you go in and the basket is empty, just be patient, they’ll have more out quickly. Hey, why not have a cannoli while you wait…

Hot cross buns, Hot cross buns, One a penny, Two a penny, Hot cross buns. was the song that played in my mind on repeat when i saw the sign in front of the bakery. I went inside and there was no customer as the worker vacuuming the floor. I understand that I walked in 30min before they closed but the staff were friendly and I got my Hot cross buns and a fig/hazelnut biscotti and headed to another café where I got to sit and enjoy the amazing biscotti. I was too full to try the hot cross bun but I would go again, maybe in the morning.

I would only go for their cookies which taste pretty good. Other then that the rest of the pastries is disappointment every time I give it a try Tried today their éclair which was so hard to the bite! The lady said they made it this morning. It didn’t taste like they did It should taste fresh, crunchy and airy on the outside and creamy in the inside. And the whipping cream taste more like butter then whipping cream. The older lady who took our orders was really rude to us. I guess she was having bad day
