Holiday Inn Dayton/Fairborn I-675

We recently stayed here while visiting the U.S. Air Force Museum. It’s a very convenient location to the museum, but we found the room we had (328) disappointing. My wife booked the room based on the website photos, which made the room look like a suite, with a king bed and a sleeper sofa for our 16 yr old son. Upon entering the room, we discovered that not only was it not a suite, but that it was a tiny rectangle with the sofa a mere 2 ft away from the king bed.
We are a modern family that has a lot of electronic gadgets (smart phones, laptops), and there were not enough outlets for all of our chargers. We ended up running to Lowes the next day and purchasing a power strip.
The TV was a modern flat panel HDTV, but the the channel selection was appalling. 23 channels, none in HD except for HBO. That was disappointing, but even worse was the 30 second delay between a press of a remote control button, and the channel actually changing.
The beds were comfortable, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. After two nights in this subpar room, we bailed out a day early and upgraded to a Marriott Hotel, which was much more modern and better equipped.
At the end of the day, this hotel was merely «ok», but nothing to write home about. It was cheaper than the Marriott Hotel that we upgraded to, but the extra cost of the Marriott was well worth it.
All things considered, I can’t recommend this hotel at this price point. We’ve stayed at Super 8 Motels which had nicer rooms than what we had in this Holiday Inn.

Typically I shy away from Holiday Inn properties (Holiday Inn specifically, not the other chains) because they are old and outdated. This property looks to be upgraded and one of the nicer properties in this chain. The breakfast is typical for this chain and the price is pretty standard too. (8.95). There are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes from here so don’t feel obligated to eat here in fear of lack of choices. I didn’t go to the gym or pool but they looked ok. The room was nice and comfortable and the bathroom looked updated as well. I would stay here again if I am in the area.

The place is nice and I was pleased with the appearance of cleanliness of the room. However, our room smelled funny, sort of like bad B. O and the beds are ones like my grandma had when I was a kid. (Room 500) Felt like springs were in my back all night. Sleeping on the floor would’ve been better.

I’ve been staying here on business travel regularly for the past year. It wasn’t a bad place to stay before, but there’s been a noticeable, positive change in the entire staff. They are now a genuinely friendly, helpful team, looking to give each customer the most comfortable stay possible.
Wifi is reliable, food and bar are good and the pool/​fitness center are nice as well.

I usually just do food reviews, but two weeks ago. We stayed here for a few days. I was a little apprehensive. That quickly disappeared. Starting with the staff. Very friendly. Any staff that walked by guests always said high and smiled even if they were in the middle of a task or a conversation with another staff. The room. It seemed small as my party had a standard two bed room. But in reality it’s the same size as any other hotel with a basic room. I felt the beds, for the most part, comfy. It had some sort of memory pad foam. The sheets on my bed were clean and soft. And plenty of pillows. Also in the room was a desk with power outlets on the lamp. A nice comfy desk chair, another chair. Tv and night stand. Standard fare. The bathroom was a bit unusual. Long counter which was nice for the four us. The shower/​tub was pretty standard. The weird thing was there is no fan. There is a vent but it wasn’t active. So the shower steamed up every time. Also the lighting in bathroom was not great. I mean it’s a bathroom. Functionality it was fine but the ladies in our group needed more light for makeup. To me it’s a slight knock but nothing that would keep me from staying again… Food, there is a restaurant in the lobby. But my group had buffet breakfast … Except for the last day were we did eat in the restaurant. The food was pretty good. Constantly getting replenished. Typical breakfast fare. Eggs, bacon, sausage, they did change up some things each day. Grits, pancakes, waffles as well. Fruit salad and different juices,… Over all a really nice stay, some bonuses, very close to food and shopping. As well as the wright university and the Nutter center.

Older hotel. Room smelled like mold. Restaurant was closed for two days of my stay. The offer of a danish was not enough to make up for the inconvenience of no food available for purchase. I expect hotel restaurants to be semi-​open during holidays.
The good: Exercise equipment worked! Staff was very nice. Breakfast on the one day the restaurant was open tasted good.
Other minor issues occured, but were dealt with professionally. I would not recommend staying here over Christmas or if you like to breathe air that isn’t moldy.

Great hotel very friendly service. I love the beds here and the exercise/​weight room is great. The only thing that seems needs improved is the bathroom especially the shower, the shower scares me. But all together I would recommend this hotel.

If you enjoy staying in a stinky room that wreaks of wet dog, this is the place for you. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I don’t feel the staff really went out of their way to accommodate us. They did have someone come vacuum the room, lol!!! that didn’t do anything to eliminate this disgusting odor. They did after I had to think of some way for them to compensate something, asked for 3 breakfast coupons. They sent up a card which was nice, would have been nicer if possibly the grammar was correct. So, this morning we went to this wonderful buffet. NOT! It was TERRIBLE, my kids and I couldn’t even eat it. It didn’t even have biscuits and gravy, my kids couldn’t even eat the oatmeal, so we came back to the room and started gagging the minute we walked in. I ended up vomiting cause of the FOWL smell. I’m highly pissed off I spent 123.00 for this terrible smelly room. UNACCEPTABLE! Priceline, you should take them off your list! This is not a 3 star hotel.

Great hotel experience. Clean room, super comfortable bed and reasonable price. Close to restaurants, shopping, Wright State University. Short drive to National Air Force Museum. Would definitely stay here again.

the staff at this hotel is fantastic. from housekeeping to the front desk staff (who made a run for blank cds for me in the middle of the night after i had forgotten mine… thanks brian), they took excellent care of me. I will be staying here whenever i have business in the area.

This is a great location for people participating in the USAF Marathon, which is why we were there. Its close to both the Nutter Center for the expo and the WPAFB. Its a little hard to see off of Col Glenn Highway, but perhaps your GPS has it better than mine did. Good clean place, nice pool, wish it had a hot tub.

Nice hotel with a very friendly staff. I have stayed here many times. There is an on-​site restaurant in the hotels that does breakfast lunch and dinner. There is also a quite bar that serves food. Great location only minutes from the shopping area and university.
