Played today and the course is in real good shape. The only bad thing is the bunkers are washed out. The staff is very friendly and the price is right.

I am leaning towards a 5 but will settle on 4. Great staff and a awesome deal on GolfNow website. I just do not see what everyone is complaining about. I shot a great round of golf, pace was very good, but I did play on a friday. Maybe weekend play is not ideal. Great challenge, but being that I shot about 5 shots under HDCP, I was happy. Great layout.

I have to say that after playing here this past weekend, I understand why they are struggling. The green fee was reasonable and the course was in ok shape, but the pace of play and attitude of the staff was terrible. GPS has been removed from the carts and seems that many other cost cutting measures are being put in place. Upon being stuck with 2 other groups on a tee, I called and asked if they could speed up the groups in front of those of us stuck on the tee, I was reprimanded and told they were playing at a perfect pace. It is true that they played within a 5hr round, which is not standard, but given that there were only 5 groups on the course and 3 were stuck on the tee; this was not acceptable. I was told they had just been to the tee we were one, which the groups in front of me confirmed was a complete lie. I play all of the area and respect that it is tougher times right now for courses, but when you have people that are still paying good money to play your course, at least show a bit of respect. I will not be playing there again and can tell you that the group I played with said this is an ongoing theme with people they bring out to the course.

You can usually play here for less than 30. The greens are getting better than they were in the summer. They’ve done away with the GPS. It’s a tough course, IMO,(plan on losing a few balls) but in good shape. Some of the fairways are tight, bunker-protected greens, tee-offs over water, etc. I play often here since it’s never very crowded, and you can get a good price.

Paid $ 45 via golfnow and it wasn’t even worth that. You can tell the economy has hit this place pretty hard. Tee box markers were sparse… if ever there(or colored correctly). Greens were in rough shape. Fairways weren’t terrible but not amazing either. Driving range was a joke(few balls). Even the balls that were there must have been used by 100 courses before they arrived there as they were almost perfectly smooth with no dimples along with no targets(flags) on the range. Positive: The GPS on the carts was a nice addition. Stopped after 9 holes as I wasn’t in the mood for a 5 ½ hr round of golf.

I played here about a week ago and while it does have a scenic layout and decent fairways, the greens were absolutely horrible this September. I don’t think there is a single green there that wasn’t pockmarked with patches everywhere. This course has either been hit hard by the weather of the past two months or just not been kept up. I’ve played 2 other courses in the past month that didn’t have a problem with their greens so I’m not sure why their greens are so bad. Another point is that they never mentioned anything about the greens when we were checking in and paying. Wish I had known before teeing off. I would say this is a good course once they fix their greens to make them playable.

Friendly golf staff in their pro shop and super hi tech golf carts with GPS. We played here on a Sunday afternoon and it was smooth sailing, the guys in front of us played quick and there was noone behind us. The fairways were a little on the brown side and dry but the greens were in tip top shape. This is an extremely challenging course so bring your a game and dont be afraid of losing some balls in the water. Their snack bar is pretty minimal and I didn’t see a cart girl all day but for the money we paid as we used a groupon, I would go back and play here again.

This is a brand spanking new golf course erected as part of the Durham Lakes community. A couple friends and I played here when we were stuck in Atlanta for a few days. If you view the pictures on the website, you’ll notice that they depict endless green fairways. When we played, the surface had the consistency of grass, but was yellowed in color. So it was kinda like an 18 hole course made of straw, or hay. I suspect that they were still either in the construction phase, or maintenance stage though, because the greens were being aerated, and there was absolutely nobody except our foursome on the course. BIG props, however, to the GPS-equipped golf carts that had the course layout and calculated relevant distances. Prices are standard, running around $ 40 or so for green fees and unlimited range balls to practice with. The holes themselves are on the challenging side, even from the middle tees. The distances are long, the fairways narrow, and the obstacles consist of huge gaping mud-filled ditches that are so cavernous you might as well be spelunking. If you happen to shank one in, kiss your ball farewell because it won’t be coming back. That said, it was a simultaneously enjoyable and frustrating 18 holes. Definitely come here for a test that may just provoke you into snapping your club in half, a la Tiger Woods during the final round of the 2007 Masters.
