I used to be a skeptic. I didn’t even believe in chiropractic care. But a friend said Dr. Glasman fixed his knee problem so I went because my neck was really tight from leaning forward for years in front of a computer screen. After the first week I felt so much better. And Dr. Glasman gave me some super easy exercises to strengthen the weaker muscles in that area. The exercises are also very effective and can be done anywhere. Everyone in the office is extremely nice and they try hard to accommodate my schedule.

Long wait time and they tried to refuse my insurance. (Review posted twice because they have two listings).
My regular chiropractor is Dr. Booker at Capitol Rehab in Arlington, but I woke up one Saturday with searing back pain and couldn’t get in with him. So I arranged for a last minute appointment with Dr. Argen at Breakthrough Chiropractic, which is also where this Dr. Kowarski works.
I had a 9:45 appointment and wasn’t seen until 10:40 — almost an hour long wait. I thought that was the worst it would get but it got worse.
When I went to check out, they got snooty that I only needed one appointment for the immediate relief and that I had another chiropractor. For this reason alone they tried to charge me $ 49 for the exam and something else for the adjustment because the approval from my insurance wouldn’t come back for 24 hours and if I wasn’t coming back, how would they charge me? Uh, send me a bill, I suggested, like every other medical office ever. This was apparently beyond their abilities, so I reasoned with them that I know my copay is 15% of their agreed rate with CareFirst, so if we can calculate that amount, I’ll pay it now just to shut them up. They argued back that they have no way of knowing if they’re even in my network for the 15% to be correct. Sure you do, I said — there’s a website for that — let me pull it up on my phone since you’re incapable of doing it yourself. Ta-​da, Breakthrough Chiropractic on Walnut St, in network.
Then the office manager complained that the address I listed was a PO Box. «What, you don’t have a house?» That was dumb, of course I have a home, but they lose my mail there, so I pay $ 100/​year to have a mailbox and that’s where you’re going to want to send your bill if you want it to arrive. They looked at me like I was a ghost, they couldn’t possibly comprehend why an individual would get mail at a PO box.
I get that they are probably wary of people skipping out on paying, but they were extremely unprofessional about it and I apparently knew more about medical billing than they did. This was my first and last visit here — their hopes of earning a regular patient were squandered by their unprofessional conduct and incompetence.

I’ve been a client of Dr Ben’s and even though I’ve moved across the country, when I’m home I still cut out time for an adjustment of his. If you’re searching for a chiropractor, you’ve probably already discovered there are many but finding a good one is a challenge. As a VERY avid yoga practitioner/​teacher, I get a lot of odd aches and pains so having a chiropractor that knows how to target and apply a multitude of techniques to someone who is already very flexible and has specific needs out of their range of motion is important. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor that will evaluate them holistically and as an individual and wants to invest in their health.

The doctors are welcoming and helpful and informative and helped me heal amazingly, they genuinely cared about my health and answered my questions and even my emails.
I didn’t trust or know anything about chiropractors until I came here as a last resort. But Dr. K, Dr. Ben, Dr. A, and all the staff were so much more deeply invested in my health than any doctor that I had previously seen for my problem. They raised my expectations for medical professionals forever. I am profoundly thankful and I sincerely love this establishment. I strongly recommend Chiropractic and Physical Therapy.

I went for awhile, but felt a real creepy vibe from Dr. K. He does have a very loyal following but I am mystified as to why. I found the staff and Dr. K very pushy about necessary 2 – 3 times a week appointments. Dr. K was too «friendly» and I was uncomfortable. When I stopped going, he called me repeatedly to try to get me to come back in. I found that odd and unprofessional and just added to the «creepiness» I felt and the used car salesmanship pitch I got each time I went. He might be a great chiropractor, but he was too pushy and familiar for me.

For 5 years I’ve been in constant pain with the muscles and nerves in my back and leg. Seen lots of doctors. I’d accepted that I would never have a pain-​free day again. Then I was referred to Dr. K. After 3 months of therapy, I now have days and days without pain. Best. Doctor. Ever. Thanks Dr. K.
Dr. K spends plenty of time with each patient to evaluate how they are at EACH appointment. He also has the best, kindest staff. Everyone in the office greets each patient like visiting family. From Amanda, who’s likely to happily break out into song, to Ben and Paulina who are so great with the therapy and exercises.
If someone recommends Dr. K, GO.

I’ve been having feet issues for a few years, and neither a podiatrist nor a neurologist could figure out the cause. Dr. K had it figured out within the first visit — and after going 2xs a week for a couple of months I’ve definitely noticed a difference! He’s also been helping me out with some back and ankle pain.
It can get crowded — but for good reason — Dr. K is awesome at what he does!

I started going because I was experiencing neck and back pain. I have been going for a couple of months and feel a major difference. Dr K and his staff are all very wonderful caring people who take the time to get to know you and remember things about you. My schedule is often very hectic and they are always accomidating! I would highly recommend Dr K, he truley cares about fixing the problems to improve your health!

Dr. K and Dr. A have put me back together several times! In 2002, Dr. K acted quickly to get me the treatment I needed (an MRI and urgent visit to a neurosurgeon) in order to address a broken L4-​L5 disc (FFF — free floating fragment) which was causing severe pain, partial paralysis, and drop foot. Post surgery, Dr. K provided the 8 months of physical therapy needed to get my leg and foot working again. I am happy to say that I ended up much stronger than before the injury. I am grateful for his quick diagnosis and referral to surgeon, Dr. Edward Hope, and for the consistent and dedicated care rendered to me. Over the years since, I’ve had several issues arise: tendonitis in my elbow, tendonitis in my hip flexor, upper back/​shoulder issues form computer work, TMJ, migraine and neck issues. Each time, Drs. K and A have patiently put me back in working order. I always get much pain relief from the treatments. Most recently, I’ve been dealing with a painful case of coccydynia (tailbone pain) stemming from sitting for a very long time on a car trip. This is a stubborn condition but I am happy to say that I am headed the right way and my pain has decreased by about half since treatment began in January. I expect to be pain free in another month or so and am encouraged this will soon be over, too. I would recommend Drs. K and A for your chiropractic and physical therapy needs.

I was referred to Dr. Allen K. by my girlfriend when I was experiencing some severe lower back and neck pain. I have always been skeptical about Chiropractic services as I worked for a orthopedic surgeon for a few years and I have to confess that I am converted. He has made me not only believe in what he does but my body thanks him. He has also managed to help me with migraines. As soon as you walk in the staff makes you feel great. I love how friendly the girls in the front and the folks at the back are. I really feel it is a family environment, plus they are super kid friendly which is a bonus incase you need to come with a toddler.

Went there for treatments for about two months. First two visits were good. They said they took my insurance and everything was dandy. After 3^rd visit they tell me that im out of network and I have to pay $ 500 for treatments etc etc for my insurance to cover it. That got me pretty heated specially after I asked the receptionist twice if my insurance covered my visits and she said yes both times. So kept going becasue I was in alot of pain. On top of the $ 500 I had to pay $ 30 for a copay everytime I went.
So the place is extremely cramped. Everytime I go in there there are 4 – 5 other people in there waiting in the room getting treatment and you are always bumping elbows with people. Then on top of that after my first 4 or so visits dr K wasnt even giving my adjustments anymore. Some other dr that works there was doing it and i personlly didnt like the way he did his adjustments. A couple of ladies that work in the back with the treatments are kind of rude and Dr K kind of just acts like a know it all. His routine gets old quick and he talks about he is so healthy and what he does to stay in shape and healthy and it just gets old after a while. I dont need to hear your life story. Just crack my back, give me heat and stem and let me on my way please. So after a couple of months i stopped going. got a refund check in the mail bout two months after my last vist from them for the $ 500 I had to pay. I guarentee if they weren’t located on main st ifo one of the busiest intersections in fairfax county they wouldnt get that much busniness because i have been to much better practices.

Dr Allen Kowarski is one of, if not, the best doctor i have met. I really like how he spend one on one time to diagnose and educate you about your individual problems. I have visited Dr Kowarski numerous of times and every time he really shows that he cares about his patient’s problem and works hard to get them better.
The staffs are also very friendly.
