Angelico La Pizzeria

We ordered fusilli, mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, and cheesecake. The fusilli was a very large portion and it was tasty. The meat sauce was very flavorful. We did not like the mozzarella sticks– they were the worst mozzarella sticks we had ever eaten. I ended up picking off the gross breading and eating the mozzarella with the sauce.
The wings were the best part of this meal. Excellent sauce and nice and flavorful, but it wasn’t medium spicy like I asked for.
Cheesecake was ok. It satisfied my craving for something sweet– it had a good crust but a little too crumbly, and the cake part was a little bland.
We might order from here again if there’s nothing else open.

AVOID. What’s worse then their food? Their rude and belittling management.
Unilocal needs a 0 star option. We called to discuss our (late) delivery order and the mistake… Instead of discussing and resolving the order, we were rudely cut off and told «don’t repeat yourself» (when we hadn’t) and that it was grub hubs fault and we should take up the specifics of THEIR MENU with grub hub… Our issue was minuscule and easily recoverable, but their reaction and handling was shameful.
NOT RECOMMENDED.

The pizza was just a cheese and was very very average so I won’t say much about it. I won’t try it again.
Now the steak and cheese sandwich on the other hand was perfect! It comes with a side and green peppers on it. It was a shock when it came on a sandwich roll but it’s big and filling. I’ll try other sandwiches next time

Was not a fan. Their spicy portobello mushroom pasta was bland in all senses, and they gave me a cheese bread when I asked for garlic bread. Bottom line is that I would not order from them again.

I hate to give this place even a 1 — it deserves 0! I ordered delivery for chicken parmesan and lasagna. the chicken was literally chicken nuggets chopped up and put on top of spaghetti with worse than chef boyardee sauce! NO flavor at all! the lasagna was layers of cheese with the same crap sauce and the ‘garlic bread’ was a cold slice of pizza! UGH! I will NEVER order from them again!!!

The pizzas are delicious, however the pastas are sub par. Every time I’ve gotten my pasta it has been watered down and lacking flavor. I’ve had to add my own spices. I’ll be solely ordering pizzas from Angelico’s.

I ordered delivery online, half an hour later their manager calls me and tells me they dont wanna deliver because I tipped them NOT ENOUGH!!! Can you believe it, I tipped $ 3 for $ 15 order, and he said they wont deliver because it is not enought tip, if I would tip more they would deliver. And their food is not even good, how this store is still in business I cant understand.

CALZONE BREAD WAS UNDERCOOKED AND GOOEY. Gross. On top of that, the sampler I ordered only came with two dips, not the three dips the online order said it was going to deliver. I had to call them and remove the sampler from my credit card, but I still had to pay for the undercooked calzone that I threw out. I’m still hungry :(

Extremely poor quality food. Ordered the chicken parm, which came with a bunch of tiny cubes of grilled chicken rather than a large piece of breaded chicken. Also the sauce was straight out of the jar Ragu quality. I also had the eggplant sandwich, which tasted like olives and nothing else. I’ll be sticking with Paisano’s for all my delivery needs.

Delivery service was inept. Preordered to be delivered at 11:45am. Was called by delivery person at 12:15pm asking for directions. Gave him step by step instructions (take second road, turn right at stop). He called me back 15 minutes later at a different location asking if I could meet him where he was. It was 20 degrees out and he was a half mile away. It took another 15 minutes to be delivered. Food was average — nothing extraordinary.

This is the WORST place ever, and I am not just talking about the food.
However, since this is what really matters the most — the food sucks. Their «steak and cheese», is really bits of meat and shredded cheese mixed with some. (i hope) mayo sauce? it also comes between their «homemade» bun, which was hard and flavorless.
I will say even though the food tastes like bargain brand paper towels, compared to their attitude, the food wins.
I ordered through their delivery service and paid online via credit card. Once the food came… mind you… 40 minutes later, I was told by the sweet young delivery driver that I did not pay. I told this high school teenie-​bopper that he is mistaken and he should call his manager to double check. Now this has nothing to do with the young boy, but his manager. The manager refused to believe that I paid online and that I needed to give the boy cash again. There was NO way I was going to pay cash, I let him know that I will pay AGAIN over the phone with my credit card and then I will show up the next day with my transaction pending statement to prove him wrong. He laughed and said he didn’t care, but that I still needed to pay at this time. Well guess who was right? ME! I told ANGELO (the manager) that he better cancel one of the transactions and that he should look out for a negative review soon, he laughed at me. I wish as a punishment I could make him eat his own disgusting food, but I don’t think he’d be up for the challenge.

Please, please, please someone help me find a great restaurant in Fairfax. Not a decent one, not a pretty good one, a great one. I’m not picky, just want a place that I can look forward to going to, Been in Fairfax for a year and I feel like I am going insane. Iv’e tried 9 different pizza places and cannot get a decent pie of pizza. Was looking forward to this pleace, for gods sake it has Pizzeria in the name. It looked and tasted like the Wegmans’s store brand. The extra star is for the price. Pretty decent, but woe is me, it seems like I shall die in the placce without ever experiencing a decent pizza. Gramaldis, Frank Pepe, Lombardi, Ray, Pizza Bianco, Unos, Frank Pepes, Can’t one of you bastards come to Fairfax and make a decent pie…

First time customer. Ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sub. First issue, it came as a sandwich on some artesian bread. That was ok, but not what I ordered. The big issue, this was like chicken nuggets on bread with sauce and cheese. Almost no chicken and the chicken that was on it was soggy. You could tell it was frozen. Yuck! If I had my phone I would have posted a picture but I left it at the office. Have to say worst chicken parmesan sandwich ever.

The pizza lacked in any kind of seasoning. The Cheese Cake was delicious, but the cannoli was soggy.

Tried the buffalo wings tonight. Very good. Large drums and shanks with lots of meat. Good sauce. The Ken’s blue cheese was lacking but other than that it was hard to stop eating these wings!
Also this shop is open until 3am! what more could you ask for!?!

Okay, they’re back on my good side.
I ordered the grilled cheese — which is like a pound of cheese on warm, soft focacia bread. It comes with tomatoes (would have liked to have seen more than two slices on the massive sandwich)… and it’s like eating a cheese calzone without pizza sauce… or a big, fluffy cheese pizza without sauce. it’s magnificent.
The service has always been good — except the one time in the review I posted — and it seems it’s getting better.

WOW what a shame this pizza used to be the greatest pizza in Fairfax. But It looks like its under new management and it’s completely now pizza taste horrible like frozen pizza. You cant even taste the cheese anymore. Its such a shame because they used to be so good and now it ranks below pizza hut and even near the frozen pizza categories if I could give this place 0 stars i would.

Not sure what happened to this place! This used to be my favorite pizza delivery spot. The pizza dough is undercooked and the toppings just fall right off. The sauce is lacking flavor and the cheese is a greasy mess. Giving it one extra star since it used to be amazing. Maybe they just got a new cool staff. Such a shame!

This was my first time in the actual restaurant. My (then boyfriend, now) husband and I used to order from Angelico’s all the time when we lived in Fairfax. I had completely forgotten how much I love their pizza!
You walk in, place your order and they will bring the food out to you.
It’s a fairly small place, but it wasn’t crowded when we were there Saturday afternoon. We ordered the Roasted Eggplant which is one of my favs! It’s big chunks of perfectly roasted eggplant, their garlic herb sauce (which is extremely light and wonderful), super briny olives, chunks of cheese, roasted peppers and chunks of roasted garlic. Death breath inducing, but ever so delicious!
This is definitely my favorite pizza in the area!

The customer service wasn’t too bad considering I had ordered for delivery. I called and the phone rang about 6 — 7 times before someone piced up and then was placed on hold for another minute. Someone then answered and took my order for a thin crust Supremo Pizza, Sampler Selection which contains Hummus and Mediterranean dips and Pita Triangles and two Heineken. Total was $ 39.00! Was told 20 minutes and did not arrive till almost an hour later.
My wife and I looked at the pizza, and it looked good, but taste wise and crust wise, not too good. The crust looked like it was the frozen kind, and the flavor wasn’t really there. I hate the thought if I had ordered the hand toss crust now.
My wife and I grew up in NYC, and know what pizza is suppose to be like, and this is not it. I don’t know where these 3 — 4 star reviews are coming from for they do not deserve them. Sorry to hating here people, but the pizza does not live up to the expectation that I thought it would have for an ‘Italian’ place. They would not make it in NYC for serving food like this. The only saving grace for the 2 star rating is the Sampler Selection, but too bad the Hummus part did not have enough flavor as well. We did not tast the garlic or spices that Hummus usually has. The Mediterranean dip had plenty of flavor which the Hummus should of have.
Not sure if we would order from here again with the way the pizza and the Hummus tasted like it did. I think Pappa John’s by me makes a better pizza than this place does and delivers in a better time frame. Too bad Pomodoro’s doesn’t deliver all the way where I live, for they have the best pizza here in NoVA!
