Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream

Great location to get some ice cream!
After a nice afternoon stroll on a sunny spring day, we stopped by this location for some dessert. So happy I decided to check in on Unilocal because we got a 10% discount — thank you Unilocal!
The store is clean and tidy, and service is quick. As another reviewer commented previously, the staff is on the younger side at this store but that’s not a big deal. You can sample all the flavors you want before your purchase. I decided to get a medium cup of Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Dough, which consists of Caramel & Chocolate Ice Creams with Chocolate Cookie Swirls & Gobs of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough & Peanut Butter Cookie Dough — yummy!
There’s seating indoors and outdoors, or you can take your ice cream to go and enjoy it in the main plaza area of Fairfax Corner.

I feel like it’s overpriced and I noticed that they didn’t give out portions equally. Some of the workers scooped out more ice cream and that was somewhat frustrating. It’s so expensive to start out with, don’t be skimping out! Taste though was good! It’s not the best ice cream ever, but I prefer it to cold stone creamery!

Since the Reston Ben and Jerry’s is closed for the time being, I decided to make the somewhat longer trek down to Fairfax Corner for Free Cone Day. This was my first time at this location and I loved the surroundings. It helped that it was such a nice day, so enjoying ice cream while sitting on benches watching people enjoy the spring weather was a great experience.
I realize that Free Cone Day isn’t always the most representative example of visiting a location, but everything lived up to expectations: there were a decent number of people there around 2:30pm on a weekday, but if there was a line, it moved quickly and the Fire and Rescue volunteers manning the counter were very courteous and efficient.
The flavors on offer are what one would expect. My current favorite is Chocolate Therapy. And Phish Food is also a classic. While I am personally not lactose intolerant or vegan, I know people who are and the introduction this year of ice cream made with almond milk seems to garnering a lot of interest. I didn’t try it, although now I’m kind of wishing that I had… I suppose I will just have to go back!
Bottom line: Until the Reston location re-​opens, I’ll definitely keep this place in mind if I feel the need to visit a scoop shop.

Product is good, staff is nice, but the store is dirty. All the tables are disgusting, the floor is filthy yet the staff is hanging out behind the counter just chatting away.

They implemented a stupid policy where you can’t have a different flavor of ice cream if you want more than 2 scoops on your cup/​cone. What kind of stupid policy is that?! How does Ben and Jerry’s make their Banana Splits?! I will never come back to Ben and Jerry’s.

We have always loved this place, we went today Sunday @ 3:10 pm the service is horrible, one young girl running the place after 10– 15 mins waiting on line a young guy came in from outside and he had a bag in his hand and jumped immediately to taking orders which is great except he didn’t wash his hand and had a runny nose seems he has a cold and told me no lemonade no cones no pomegranate no strawberry the only things available is Mango !!
Which they should put a sign that we open partially today, I think the owner should spend more money and give more attention to his place.
Find another place and don’t waist your time.

Love that Ben and Jerry’s offers a free cup or cone of ice cream on your birthday. Cashier was very helpful and sweet. He offered free samples and I gladly accepted. My favorite was the Cherry Garcia. It wasn’t too sweet and had loads of cherries and dark chocolate pieces throughout. Their Phish Food is also delicious, you can’t go wrong with chocolate ice cream, gooey marshmallows, caramel swirls, and fudge fish. The store is clean. There is a restroom in the back. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.
I can’t say I’m a huge fan of their ice cream or that I’m a regular here. I am extremely grateful for their generosity in giving us free ice cream on our birthdays and other occasions.

I try to come here at least a couple times a year because the ice cream is just so delicious. Probably one of my favorite ice cream places around here. My favorite flavor is the coconut 7 layer bar which is hands down the best flavor. You have to get it if you like coconut. Milkshake or sugar cone is good for me.
The store itself is small inside with about 6 small tables. Summer gets incredibly busy, very long lines with not enough employees. Especially on the free cone days. Can’t go wrong though, so good!

When I found out that they have «Happy Hour» specials in the afternoon it was a bad day for my diet… but a great day overall!
The staff is VERY friendly. And why shouldnt they be, they get to serve ice cream to people all day long. If you cant smile doing that then there are deeper issues.
I like the chocolate dream or chocolate triple threat… not sure what it is called but its chocolate ice cream, fudge ice cream and then chocolate pudding swirled into it. Oh and there are brownies in the mix somehow. There are many other AMAZING flavors and I have yet to try the sorbet. Yum!

Sample Ice cream before you order, sweet. Community involvement, nice. Next to the movie theater, awesome. A hop-​skip away from the town center fountain, perfect! I love stopping by for ice cream before a movie, or after dinner. Right now they’ve got a «Liz Lemon Greek Yogurt». Since I just finished catching up on 30 Rock, a cup of Liz Lemon was calling out to me.
Skip the waffle cone, go for a waffle bowl! Less mess, and you still get to have the waffle.

I came into ben and jerry’s to treat my cousin and aunt to some delicious ice cream. They were visiting me here since their homeland is Peru. They were not familiar with many of the flavors, but the guy that helped us was very patient and helpful by giving us sample to try. Each flavor they tried they liked, and when the decision had to be made, they all picked the butter pecan flavor! they loved that flavor. As for me, I went with the chocolate therapy and coffee coffee flavor. I am a chocolate person so chocolate therapy was a great ! I really liked both the service and the ice cream.

This place is my favorite ice cream store in the area. I even received 10% off my bill by checking in on Unilocal!:) They have a lot of different flavors and it’s perfect to stop by before going to the movies or to grab an after dinner dessert. My only quip is that the bathroom is incredibly dirty. I don’t know what that says about the store, but it really grossed me out. If not for the bathrooms, I would give this place five stars.

Spent a lovely Friday evening at Fairfax Corners, which included a trip to Ben & Jerry’s for a little ice cream. Their flavor varieties are amazing! One of the newest ones is called «Steven Colbert’s Late Night Snack,» consisting of chocolate and potato chips. The names crack me up: Chubby Hubby, Phish Food, Chunky Monkey, etc. The ice cream is delicious although a little pricey. They were more than happy to give me tastes of whatever I wanted, which is always appreciated.
The location is very small, with only a few tables for seating. If the weather is nice, you are better off sitting outside on a bench or even better, going across the road to the «square.» More benches, tables and chairs with umbrellas, and fountains that bob and weave for the kiddies to play in. Sometimes there is even a band playing. Nice way to enjoy your sweet treat.

I love the 3 for $ 12 take home pints deal.
The red velvet is surprisingly really good.
My all time favorite is strawberry cheesecake.
Rocky-​road isn’t too bad.
If you check-​in on Unilocal you get 10% off which is nice.

First let me say I’m basing this rating on this particular location only. I love eating Ben & Jerry’s at home on a hot summer day, so this review is not about the actual ice cream.
I was on a date one Saturday night and after dinner at California PIzza Kitchen, we decided we’d get ice cream and walk around and sit by the fountain. Good way to spend a Saturday night, right? WRONG.
We get in there and the line is at least 15 people long. Granted, it’s a Saturday night at like 9pm, so I’ll let the line thing go. But what WAS annoying is that the people working there didn’t seem to be giving 100% effort in helping with the line. They didn’t seem to want to get the line down at all.
The biggest complaint I have though was the bathroom. Because the line was so long, I decided to run to the bathroom real quick. When I got in there, I almost threw up my dinner. It was the dirtiest, most nasty bathroom I’d ever been in. I think I’ve been in cleaner port-​a-​potties. There was trash everywhere, there was a foul odor, and it was quite apparent a previous patron had been in there earlier and had, what appeared to be, some massive «female issues». I won’t go into the diguesting details, but it was horrifically gross.
I quickly walked out and told my date I couldn’t conciously eat anything from this place without probably throwing it up shortly afterwards. He ended up ordering a cone and throughly enjoyed it.
The last thing I’ll say, and this just sounds bitchy, but while walking around earlier, there was a worker from there (obvious by her bright tide-​dyed t-​shirt) sitting on a bench outside, sucking face with her boyfriend. Now, if someone wants to spend their break from work making out with their significant other, that’s fine, but I wish she could hadn’t done it in such a public place — because when we went in later that night for our ice cream, the girl scoopiing out the ice cream was none other than face-​sucking girl and I really didn’t want her to serve me food (which was a moot point after the bathroom anyways).

I love this location! The staff is younger (I think GMU Students) and they don’t look at me like I’m crazy when I want to try every flavor. They also have pretty good recommendations if I can’t decide. The new Frozen Greek Yogurt is amazing and like the scooper said «it doesn’t make you feel like you just ate a bowl of ice cream.» I loved it!
Also, there are wonderful places to sit outside when the weather is nicer. I guess that is more of a compliment for Fairfax Corner but Ben & Jerry’s pays rent to be there right? Anyways this is a great location and I highly recommend it if you are close to Fairfax Corner. Also, you don’t need to wait in a ridiculous line (*cough* Pinkberry).

I admit — I only came here for the free scoop. So yes, the free scoop was great, the line was long, but seriously you’re an idiot if you come here on a regular basis and pay money when you can get a pint at Wegmans (on sale) for $ 2.50. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the place but… i’ll take a pint before ever stepping into this store again…

Great place for ice cream! Love the Chunky Monkey, Peanut Butter Cup, and the Pumpkin Cheesecake!

Just save yourself the money and buy a pint from the grocery store!
If you do decide to go to the store, DO NOT order their smoothies. They blend a ALOT of orange juice with just 2 measly scoops of raspberry sorbet (or some other flavor that I forget) that it just tastes and looks like reddish/​pink ORANGE SLUSH! and you pay over $ 5 which is a complete ripoff.
POTBELLYS has AMAZING ice-​cream for a fraction of the price and tastes 100 0000x better! Not only that, IT’s LOCATED RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!! :D

It was one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had. Even at this Ben & Jerry’s. I was there on a Thursday, I was looking for good old plain vanilla. The girl said they (don’t know who she was referring to) messed up the order and the regular Wednesday deliver did not have vanilla. So no vanilla for the whole weekend? That is stupid.
It was also close to dinner time, around 5:00 or 5:30? And she was the only one working there. That made no sense. And there were good 7 people in line.
So I selected 1 scoop of the Mint Chocolate Chunk and my husband also got a 1scoop (both in cups) and the total was close to $ 10, say what??? The ice cream quality was more than questionable.
At least my stomach did not hurt afterwards, next time I’ll go around the corner to Potbelly’s and get a scoop for $ 3 less. Rip off people!!!
Oh yeah, she was also in a crappy mood. Poor kid. Why was she the only one working? One score for the store is at least the one working there, she did wash her hands after handling money each time. Good for her.
The owners and management, you all suck. You should all be fired.
