Fred Astaire Dance Studio Of Fairfax

My instructor Javier recently made the move to Fred Astaire Dance Studio to be their Studio Director. The place is wonderful! First off, they have a great teaching staff! Kenon, Jason, Katya and Catherine are all upbeat, friendly and encouraging. I was especially impressed by the fact that they all made it a point to dance with all the students during their parties! Additionally, the studio has one of the best dance floors I’ve every danced on. I’ve been to some studios where I felt I was taking my life in my hands dancing on their floors. Not at Fred Astaire! Excellent flooring. And, for newcomers, you can’t beat their introductory special. Add to that their location, next to Mosaic Distrikt with all the shops and restaurants and plenty of parking — it’s great! I highly recommend Fred Astaire Dance Studio!

We have been dancing here for more than a year. It’s a great place — the instructors are knowledgeable and fun to work with. They keep things interesting and enjoyable. We’ve worked mostly with Jason, and some with Katya. I’d recommend both. The studio is clean and well-​kept. If you are interested in either short-​term wedding-​dance lessons, or getting more involved, you can’t go wrong here.

My husband and I wanted to take a few dance lessons. We had two introductory private lessons in the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Fairfax. Katya was our instructor. She was great and a lot of fun! Only in two 30 min lessons she was able to teach us moves for six different dances. We enjoyed the classes and the studio and would love to come back. The only problem is that the newcomers packages they have offered us at the studio are a bit pricy. We are still thinking though.

My fiancé and I went to Fred Astaire to learn a dance for our «First Dance.» I had never danced before, and our instructor was fantastic. We signed up for and just finished four classes. I am extremely confident that our first dance will be amazing thanks to their instruction.
The Studio is very nice, all the instructors are very talented, and they are willing to work with you to get a dance which will fit your song. I would highly recommend this studio!

This was birthday gift from wife, we still new at it, but we really enjoying our time there with our instructor Katya. The facility is very nice and all the staff too. We looking forward for great time learning to dance at Fred Astaire. We recommend this place to everyone that enjoy dancing!

My fiancé and I started lessons here (before we were engaged) because it was something we both wanted to do for fun and exercise. To our delight, we found the studio and its instructors very welcoming. While you do have a main instructor, all of the instructors are willing to help, dance, and have fun, especially during group dances, open dancing, or parties. They are all quick to show you some moves or take you for a spin on the dance floor. With that said, we enjoyed most our private lessons because we were so lucky to be matched with Katya — she is always energetic and positive and willing to work at our pace. She was always ready with a smile, a joke, or a unique way at describing a dance step. She made dancing easy and fun, so much so that we looked forward to every lesson.
Overall we have become proficient in five different ballroom dances, and most importantly, confident in showing off our skills on our own. We are encouraging others to do the same. If you are looking to get some dancing skills, whether for a wedding or for fun, don’t be intimidated, as they make it easy and understandable and will give you the confidence to own the floor!

I first went to the Fred Astaire Dance Studio when I needed to have someone help me choreograph a campy dance routine for a birthday party. Although I was not doing a ballroom routine, Katya helped my brother and I accomplish what we wanted, and our routine was a hit at the party. I had so much fun at the studio, that I signed up for some ballroom classes. That was over a year ago, and I have been a regular student since then. I had some previous ballroom experience from another local franchise, but did not continue as I was dissatisfied with the quality of instruction, attention from the staff, and intimidation of beginning dancers by the more advanced dancers. The staff at Fred Astaire Dance Studio is great. I have worked with all of them — Jason, Kenan, Sevrin, Katya, Missy, Merisa — love them all! They are willing to design a program to fit your needs, instead of just following a set program. The dance floor is great, and there is plenty of parking. The students are all very friendly, and dancers at all levels are encouraged to participate. It’s a lot of fun and great exercise. Thanks to Jason, I now get asked to dance whenever I go out, and feel confident out on the floor!
