Masterworks Window Fashions & Design is an award-​winning full service interior design business in Northern Virginia, metropolitan Washington D.C., and the Maryland suburbs of Washington. I’m Linda Bassert, and my team and I offer Color Harmonies for Your Home, and Artistry at Your Windows. I work collaboratively with my clients for interior spaces which reflect your personality and preferences, look great, and function well. Most of my clients love art and have collections which are important to them. Your Story is My Inspiration. As a Certified Window Treatment Consultant, and Window Fashions Certified Professional, custom window treatment design is a core specialty. Paint Color Consultation is another specialty for which I am well known. I put together the «Mission Possible» team of professional workrooms, installers, and referral partners appropriate for your project. For business professionals, my storytelling perspective on design brings your unique message to your office space. In addition to custom window treatments, motorized window treatments, and blinds and shades, my work for clients includes reupholstery and slipcovers; custom bedding, pillows and cushions; art and framing; and furniture, lighting and accessories. My work has won awards four times at the International Window Coverings Expo Design Competition. My business also has also been awarded Best of Houzz in Customer Service in 2014 and 2015.

History

Established in 2006.

My journey to establishing my own interior design business began in 1974 as a retail management trainee. I was told I had to move into sales, instead of management, when I became engaged. Eventually I was asked to move into the «Shop at Home department» of a major department store chain, and there discovered a passion for custom window treatment design. After returning to the field after being home full time for 13 years with small children, I worked in Chicago, Boston, and finally moved home to Northern Virginia, where I was the senior Shop at Home consultant for a high end furniture company. When that company went out of business in 2006, I went into business for myself, and won my first design award in Feb. of 2008, for a Master Bedroom project for an Arts & Crafts Collector. Later award-​winning projects include a Transitional Dining Room, a window treatment designed in relationship to a woodland view, and a Traditional bedroom for an historic society. Business Owner

I’m Linda H. Bassert, the Design Principal of Masterworks Window Fashions & Design. Born at Bethesda Naval Hospital while my Marine Corps father served in the Korean war, I grew up moving about every 3 years. This is why I love all the parts of the home which take the structure and make it home: the art, accessories, furnishings, and window treatments. I believe passionately is that it is your home. One of the highest compliments I have ever received from a client was this: «Linda, I know you had a hand in it, but when I come home, it’s ME.»
