This place is amazing ! A little hard to find but it is well worth it. Got the salmon cream roll and it hit the spot it was clear Ike’s the salmon inside for those who don’t like something raw. It was reasonably priced as well unlike other sushi vendors and restaurants. The owner is a sweet guy and the food tastes great.

Hits the spot. This place is –inside– Lotte, a Korean grocery store that’s a bit dilapidated and a bit eccentric, and it might seem a bit weird going in if you’re not Korean… But don’t let any of that stop you. The food here is awesome, inexpensive, and adventurous. Been here many times and it’s always consistently good. They have Korean and Japanese dishes– try the grilled eel, the oyaku don(bowl of fried chicken breast over rice), or the grilled beef and udon noodles. Ambience is, well, weird; you can sit in their food court at the corner of the grocery store and relax next to sacks of rice and a pleasantly dilapidated fountain. Go a few times and you’ll want to become a regular.

I got the sashimi lunchbox and it was definitely a lot of food for a decent price. 12 pieces of sashimi and a california roll on top of tempura, salad, and miso soup! The sashimi was fresh, even on a Monday night, and services was fast. This will be my new go to sashimi place for a quick fix!

The restaurant is inside a small Korean supermarket. Being a long term costumer(6+)years, I visited the place often and never had any bad experience. The quality of the food and the price is simply unbeatable. Salmon box and #42 are my favorites.

You can’t beat the price, convenience, and taste of this place. This restaurant is a tiny place inside of Lotte and everything we ordered here tasted amazing. Not to mention the prices are so cheap for what you get. I left here feeling satisfied with spending 20 something dollars on our meal. They have a lot of combos to choose from, so if you feel like eating a wide variety of thing, this is the place for you. This place was a fusion between Korean and Japanese food. They had kimbap, dukbooki, bolgogi, sushi, udon, and bento boxes. I got the kimbap and udon combo. This combo only cost $ 8.00! The broth for the udon was really tasty and great on the cold day. The kimbap was tasty too. It was filled with fillings and perfect amount of rice. They have so many sushi rolls to pick from. Make sure you look at the whole menu posted below the photos because they have some great rolls that we didn’t see until after we ordered. We tried the shrimp tempura roll. This was very good. You can tell it was made fresh to order and the shrimp tempura was crispy and hot. They have a lot of bento boxes to choose from. The bento box came with a lot of sides. It had California rolls, potato salad, salad with a delicious dressing, rice, and a main dish. Well worth your money! The place is tiny, so it’s not a good place to come with large groups of people. There is not a lot of seating inside the store. The workers are friendly.

Although the setting may not be ideal, t he food is actually pretty good. The food taste better and you get a lot more than what you may get in a stand alone restaurant. I know it may seem a little wierd to eat in a kind of old and badly in need of renovation supermarket, it is worth the trouble to find it. I like everything I have tried here. My favorite thing to get is the spicy pork Bento box.

My wife and I really enjoy eating here. Since it is the closest Korean restaurant to our house, it’s fortunate for us that the food is delicious! We came on a Friday night specifically to eat here. For those that don’t know, it’s located inside a Lotte Plaza. We never shop at Lotte but we do come for some Yummy. They have a huge menu. On this particular Friday, we ordered a tuna sushi roll and a beef donburi. The sushi roll was delicious, and the tuna was fresh. The beef donburi was huge! Besides a huge bowl of rice and beef, they also give you a small salad, kimchee, another pickled vegetable, and miso soup. The donburi was great, with the rice being the right consistency and the beef being very tender and flavorful. We try to come here every so often especially when we’re lazy and can’t make it out to Annandale. My only complaint is that the ambiance could be a bit better. The waterfall is too loud and the music is too loud. Otherwise come for the great food!

I gotta say for a hole in the wall spot in a Korean supermarket… Udon is not bad. For dinner about $ 8.00+ tax this is a large bowl of udon and kimbap. The broth of the udon was surprisingly pretty flavorful. The kimbap was made to order so it was fresh and delicious. Well if your on the go and need a quick dinner this is your place for a quick light meal.

What a great surprise! It’s a tiny place inside Lotte. I ordered the seafood hot pot to go and it was tasty, spicy, had a lot of mussels, squid and shrimp and it was big enough for two. We also had the noodle stir fry with seafood and it was sinfully good. We will definitely come back.

Who knew? Lotte is a sleepy little market compared to all the grandiose Korean supermarkets that have sprung up in and around Fairfax in recent years; however, it still has its share of attractions, and one of them is this cutely named eatery housed in its«courtyard.» The courtyard consists of three takeout and dine in places and a mini waterfall that seems rather out of place, though the stone benches and tree trunk tables are nice. Anyway, Yummy Restaurant is where it’s at! I recently sampled one of the best soba noodle soups, ever. Yep. The tempura udon noodle soup is generally more popular, as soba noodles are definitely an acquired taste. But the tempura soba noodle soup is a healthier alternative that tastes just as good. That unmistakable dashi stock was absolutely delightful – warming and umami. Each sip, or slurp, rather, took me back to LA’s Japantown, where my girlfriends and I indulged in many cheap, wonderful bowls of ramen and udon noodle soup. Yummy Restaurant also has many other menu items besides noodle soup to choose from – donburi and sushi combos alongside familiar Korean dishes(jjamppong, naengmyun, etc.). They provide pictures of most of their offerings so you’re not shooting in the dark. Orders come out pretty quickly and the prices are easy on the wallet(tempura udon/soba noodle soup is $ 7.35). I don’t believe in going to places like Yechon to pay almost double the price for something I could get in the cafeteria of a supermarket, especially if it’s as tasty as Yummy’s creations. This casual dining spot is a winner, and I will definitely be coming here more often.

This is one of my favorite places to grab a quick nice meal. I’ve been coming here since 2008 when I was still in school, and have been coming in pretty regular since then. Décor isn’t critical to me, so my rating is purely based on the food and service. The food is excellent and the pricing is extremely reasonable. Service is also very good, the couple who owns the place are nice people, they also remember me too. I would recommend the tempura udon, or the ten-don, which is what I usually get, but I’ve come here enough where I think I’ve gotten at least everything on the menu at least once, and I haven’t had a bad dish yet.

Another hidden gem… lmao A Korean market that has Korean food court. Yummy restaurant is located there which serve Korean and Japanese food. Doesn’t sound too good right? Don’t let the image fool you. I’ve been to this place once in a while since 2008. I always get tendon, believe it or not this place make the BEST tendon in Northern Virginia area!!! Why? because this place can make pretty damn tasty tempura. And the variety of vegetable tempura is fantasticl!(usually different type of vegetable every few days or so) So far I’ve got cool type of tempura like mushroom, shiso leaf, onion ring, tofu, white fish. And of course shrimp tempura. I don’t know how they make it… but they nailed this dish very well! Once again, the best tendon you will ever get in this area, hands down. Also, it’s only $ 8.50!!! it comes with miso soup, salad with yummy ginger dressing, kimchi, pickled radish. Quite a steal. And I tried their Oyakodon before, it’s also very yummy. IF you go to this market just to do grocery shopping. I RECOMMEND you to get lunch or dinner at the Yummy restaurant! and you can thank me later. lol 5 stars… because you get very good food in a decent price. I’m not sure why the owner didn’t open the restaurant outside of Lotte’s yet!

Its a great little restaurant in a busy Korean store, the portions you get are perfect and I definitely enjoyed every aspect of this meal. Perfect for a quick lunch or those busy on the weekends shopping and need a bite to eat. On par with most Korean spots in Annandale.

This is my favorite stall to order from. If you have never eaten or ordered from a Lotte food stall they are known for having good tasty foods. This one and the one in SIlver Spring are my favorite. The bento boxes are my favorite. I love variety but am a small Asian gal who can’t store much, so the bento boxes with a little of this and a little of that are just right for me. The udon here is not worth it. Stick to everything else. 4 stars for taste 4 stars for quality 4 stars for portion size and price 4 stars for friendliness 3 stars for the wait time

This treat is just a tiny hole in the wall concession inside an aging Korean Supermarket. It’s been there for more than five years so I’m surprised to be the first reviewer. It’s a café counter with trays and no waiter service but serves up meals, not snacks. The entire joint is no bigger than a taco truck, and about as elegant. There are a few small tables that could seat 2 persons inside the restaurant. Out in the common area there are larger tables with sitting stools. The menu is huge– literally. it’s a hodgepodge of shingles posted all over the place, leading into the eating area, in Korean and English, with great color photos. Prices are unbelievably good, most meals under ten dollars. There’s a wide variety of udon and box meals. There are no banchan dishes besides kimchi, but we were amazed by the included sides. Many meals include a small salad with tasty ginger dressing. The bulgogi or spicy pork box for under $ 10 included 2 nori rolls, a few pieces of tempura, potato salad, and fresh sculpted orange slice in addition to the tasty salad and a nice portion of meat. The food is fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented in real ceramic Korean pots or bento boxes. Portions of meats and seafood are generous, making this an extraordinary value if you don’t mind the very makeshift atmosphere. A few trees and cute tables made from tree stumps don’t hide the fact that it’s a shack adjacent to the checkout line of a dingy supermarket. I actually feel a bit guilty to pay so little for all that’s given. You can’t see any restaurant signs from driving down the street. Look for the Lotte supermarket, a large separate building kitty corner to the rest of the shopping center. Go in and head all the way to the back of the store to find this restaurant. And next to it is Palace Noodle, which is also a winner for cheap and delicious Korean dishes. Accepts MC/VISA with $ 10 minimum.
