Does CSAA ever actually recharge a battery any more? This morning we were serviced by a truck that also had batteries for sale, and the driver did everything he could to avoid charging our dead battery. He even conducted a «test» that warned against charging, saying the battery could «pop» while being charged.
I’ve been jump starting cars for 6 decades and have never heard of such a thing.
In the end we had no choice but to buy a $ 122 batter for a 20 year old Outback.
What a rip!

I currently have a homeowners claim open with CSAA. I used the company that is contracted with them to come out for repairs. Their contractors underbid by devaluing the materials that were in my home. The measurements for rooms were smaller than the actual size. Now it is a nightmare that I would not sign a contract with them. Because I would not agree to the estimate, CSAA sent authorizations for medical and work history to investigate my claim and want me to cash out for the devalued estimate even though it is wrong. I now have to submit reimbursement requests through mail or fax. I have been told by several reputable contractors that the work will cost twice as much to get done. If you want a company that cares about its insured other than collecting premiums I recommend doing your research first. CSAA has only one star on most consumer websites and now I know why. Do your research and reward companies that act in good faith. If you have CSAA please look up consumer rating sites and read the horror stories then make a decision that could prevent heart aches later. I wish I had.

I’ve found most AAA office staff to be really helpful, and have even had (mostly) good experiences talking with their 800-​number staff.
I called this office to verify their fax number and confirm receipt of a fax and realized the fax number I have must be for another AAA location in the (707). I asked if there was another office and was told «there’s one in Vallejo, but they don’t have their number.»
Shouldn’t be hard for me to find online, but I found it a little surprising that they don’t have their number for reference, and they didn’t offer to look it up for me.

Had an accident today with a rental car, called csaa for a claim. Was greeted by Megan who was amazing in taking care of all the details in a calm and understanding manner. i have been with csaa for over 20 yrs and have never had a problem. In my experience dealing with people I always find that if you treat them with respect they will reciprocate, maybe the 2 disgruntled reviewers might give it a try.

This cannot be your finest example of customer service:
I renewed my $ 57.00 AAA membership in Aug. 2013 by filling out my credit card info on the renewal slip and mailing the slip back in.
My bank processed the $ 57.00 payment on Aug. 21, 2013.
Today I needed to use the DMV services at the Santa Rosa, CA offices today but realized I had still had not rec’d my new membership card. So I went online to the AAA website only to discover that, according to CSAA, my membership status was still expired.
So I renewed again on the website today.
End result is I have paid twice.
When I emailed CSAA thru its website and asked this question, I was answered by a form e-​mail telling me to call an 800 number.
When I called the 800 number and made my way through the phone tree, I was rewarded with a recording saying due to circumstances beyond CSAA’s control, my request could not be processed at this time.

I hope somebody monitoring this page is shamed sufficiently to assist me.

AAA is NO LONGER AT THIS LOCATION. I went here expecting to change some things on my policy, but this place is now some physical therapy/​massage joint.
So if you’re reading this, I’m hoping that you don’t waste your time and gas, like I did, driving to this location. If you’re looking for the closest AAA location near you, I highly suggest just going to their website and looking.

I am writing to complaint about CSAA’s intentional and repeated delays in processing
our bodily injury claim.
I have been dealing with CSAA in settling
a bodily injury claim with CSAA since Sept 7, 2011. The accident occurred
in Nov 24, 2009. I’ve provided all
the required information for evaluating the claim. Knowing the expiration
date, the adjuster has been intentionally
and repeatedly delaying the evaluation of the claim and making an offer:
1. repeatedly denied my request for email communication
and insisted on post/​snail mail communication
2. claimed that she (the adjuster) did not receive some of my faxes despite
that my fax machine successfully completed the faxes
3. insisted on medical authorizations before even evaluating the claim,
despite that I provided all medical bills and relevant medical records
4. hasn’t contacted the medical providers after I gave the authorizations
two weeks ago.
5. seeking irrelevant information, e.g., medical authorization for CMS (Medicare)
and worker’s compensation as we haven’t used those services at all
6. delayed requesting wage authorization until Oct 5, 2011.
If such authorization is needed, she should have requested such authorization
in Sept 20, 2011’s letter along with other requests as she received the demand
letter on Sept 13, 2011.
7. repeatedly seeking nonessential receipts, e.g., receipt for taking BART/​bus,
8. insisted on getting authorizations and medical records from everyone
involved in the accident before even evaluating
the claim for others
It’s clear that the adjuster has been negotiating in bad faith,
repeatedly delaying the evaluation of the claim with the intent of low ball offer,
even no offer at all after the expiration of our claim time due to
the Statute of Limitations.
