Floors To Go

After buying a home in Fairfield we decided to have laminate floors installed. I looked at the products that home depot and lowes offered, but I was not impressed. By chance we stopped into the Floors to go show room. We looked at flooring, and for the heck of it carpet too. The budget we had would only get us new flooring at both home depot and lowes, Tom blew that away! He came out and measured the house, then we meet him at his store. The carpet and the floor exceeded or expectations and the price was on budget for not just the flooring, but the carpet and padding too! Tom’s crew also demoed the old tile entry and took up the vinyl and old carpet, and hauled it all away!
The install was fast. The flooring looks amazing as does the carpet. I could not be happier and we now know where to go for all our flooring needs from now on.
He also has an impressive collection of beautiful furniture and home accessories in his store. My wife has purchased several items and has her eye on a couple of couches and wall décor pieces. Great place, great owner, great staff and I’m a customer for life! Thanks Tom.

We had a wonderful experience getting carpet installed in our house on short notice with
Floors To Go. Tom was super helpful and worked hard to get us what we wanted. We love our new carpet! Alex, who installed it, is fantastic. He works hard and goes that extra step to make sure it looks perfect. Thank you so much for taking great care of us.

We just moved into the area and interviewed a number of flooring businesses, my husband and I chose to work with Floors to Go. The owner seemed like an honest guy and was not pushy at all, and his staff were pleasant. We are pleased with our experience and the quality of the work. For the inital process I would give them 5 stars. We had a combination of wood and carpet installed.
However after a few months, I felt nails poking my feet at the transition between the carpet and wood flooring. I called the owner and asked him to send someone to fix the issue. He said he would send someone within the week. It has been 3+ and still no word. So i will have to call again and follow up… this portion of the interaction i give 3 stars. I believe follow through and good costumer service is still important even the bulk of the job is finished.

We have gone to FTGo for over 15 years for all of our flooring needs (and many home furniture/​décor needs) and have never ever been disappointed. The owner is very kind, helpful, and even PATIENT when I can’t decide:). He always makes sure that we are satisfied with installation, and the crew works quickly too. I trust them with my key which wouldn’t happen at Home Depot or Lowe’s. So glad Fairfield still has Floors To Go. I would be very sad if they left!!!

The only reason this business is even deserving of one star is because of their installation crew. Raul is AMAZING! He works hard and does quality work. Raul is not one to take the easy way out, which I appreciate when someone is working on my home. Unfortunately, the owner Tom is a different story…
I hired Tom to install new carpet in my home about three years ago. The experience was fine; did not seem to have any problems.
Then, my home flooded a few months ago, and I wanted to hire Tom again since the first time was a good experience. However, this time has been a NIGHTMARE.
First, he ordered WAY TO MUCH hardwood for my floors downstairs. I understand 10% cushion, but I had 3.5 boxes of wood left over. He refused to refund the money even though it was his measurements used. That was over $ 500 of extra wood I did not need. Then he completely mis-​measured my upstairs for the carpet, claiming I had 100 extra square feet that I did not have. This again increased the cost, and I was not willing to pay for his mistake. To make matters worse, he claimed that prices for carpet had more than doubled since three years ago. I was getting the same exact carpet as before, less square footage, but the price was over twice as much. Does not make sense. I can understand a price increase, but that is ridiculous.
My husband and I decided we had come too far to go with someone else, and we just wanted the job finished. We ordered the carpet and hoped for the best. Tom told us that it would take two weeks for the carpet to arrive. After three weeks and no call, I proceed to ask about the location of the carpet and when it would be installed. I got the run around for a whole week until finally 4 weeks after I ordered the carpet, Tom tells me it is in and can be installed Monday between 8:30 — 9:00am. Great, I thought! Well Monday at 9:15 I call Tom to see where his installers are, because no one has arrived. (I had to take a day off of work) Tom explains that they did not finish their job on Saturday so now they wont be there till the afternoon and will probably have to finish on Tuesday. I was not happy! I could not afford to take TWO days off of work and he didn’t even let me know ahead of time. He was completely rude on the phone, unwilling to admit his mistakes, or show any sign of customer service at all.
I will never use Tom and Floors To Go again, nor would I ever recommend their business. They are completely unprofessional, and show no customer service whatsoever. It is truly unfortunately because his installers work hard and do a good job. Hopefully, Raul does side jobs!

Had a GREAT experience with this company. My 90-​year-​old mother wanted new kitchen flooring so I took her to Lowe’s first. What a mistake! Because she already had three layers of flooring down they said the entire floor plus sub-​floor would have to be removed, new plywood put down, and the new floor laid over that.
Fair enough. But I’d have to figure out how much plywood we’d need myself («we don’t do that in the flooring department»), pay an extra charge to have it delivered («we don’t do that in the flooring department»), and find a contractor to pull up the old floor myself («we don’t do that in the flooring department and we don’t know anyone who does — you might try the yellow pages.»).
So we went to Floors to Go, instead, where they loaned us free samples (vs having to «rent» them at Lowe’s), gave us a great price (better than Lowe’s by a long shot), and best of all, came over and handled the WHOLE thing in one day.
The guys they sent out were great, too. I let them into the house and while I was still introducing myself to one, the other was already running around moving furniture, taking measurements, etc. to get the job started. We came back that afternoon to a beautiful, finished floor.
I would do business with Floors to Go again in a heartbeat, and recommend them to anyone who wants a great, PAINLESS job at a fair price.

Owner is incredibly honest and super helpful! He got us a great deal on pergo for our old house and then years later, remembered us and hooked us up with beautiful floors again for the new house! Great décor for sale next door too.

This place hooked it up. Small business owner, pretty honest guy. The gentleman that owned the place worked with me to get a room carpeted at a very reasonable price. The installers worked quick and got the job done in a heartbeat. They lack a star due to the installer being almost 2 hours late and not really speaking a lick of English when I had questions for him. Overall a painless experience for a good price and hard working employees.
