Best Italian food that I’ve had in a very long time. Great food drinks and service, would recommend to anyone and everyone!

My go to place for lunch and dinner! From the pasta to the sandwiches to the salads everything is delicious. Great service every time too.

Another over rated high priced restaurant with bad service. Saturday night at 8:45, after taking our order we are informed they are out of all pizza. How do you run out of pizza? From there it did not get any better. The waiter was MIA most of the time. We waited 10 min for glass of wine and a new fork. The portions were small and overpriced.

Worst experience ever. No pizza at 830 pm. No silverware. No asking how the service is. No wine. Holy cow. Awful.

Great selection of modern Italian food. We highly recommend the braised short rib risotto. The food quality and selection exceeded our expectations and we would visit this restaurant again in the future.

Tazza is a great small place to visit, with a menu for wines and dishes that make your mouth water. The bar-tender Gina, was amazing and willing to accommodate any special needs and interest, along with remembering us after 3 months. My low score comes from what we we’re told is an owner Lenny, who sat in a sweat suite like a jersey thug, at the end of bar and never got up unless to change the radios station(yes radio noise), and never asked how we were doing or if there was anything that could be improved. Will come back for Gina, but don’t want to give the owner any more of my money.

Once was Tazza Osteria & Bar Chop Suey is now the Tazza Osteria & Bar what. We used it on the Wednesday mid-day, therefore it wasn’t packed. There wiskeys checklist operates to many webpages. We could actually test 412 year-old or much better Japanese wiskies for $ 40. Great, knowledgable web servers.

We went on a Saturday night with a party of 5 and the place was packed. It was a fun scene and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. On the downside, we found the food bland. While the portions were large, the taste was ‘meh’. The grilled octopus was tasteless and soft. I also had the seafood pasta and while the seafood was OK, the pasta was bland. Overall, it’s an OK but not comparable to other Fairfield pasta places like Avellinos and Centro.

This place was great! Every single food item we ordered was fabulous. Best at gratin I think I’ve ever had anywhere! It was a very quiet night but the staff was very friendly and attentive. Everything came very quickly. Will definitely be back!

Ports at the bar to charge your iPhones ! What a great idea. How many times are we looking for outlets. Tazza put in the actual ports. For dinner I had the Homeade parpadelle with a spectacular light marinara sauce. I was impressed to say the least. The gnocchi was also very light with a special cream sauce. The owners all«hands on operators,» paid close attention to their customers added to our delightful experience.

Nice place… modern look with a minimalist feel… two sides, bar and restaurant, we were on the restaurant side… bar wad crowded, with lots of laughter(a good sign in my mind). We had an intimate table for two, and even though the next table was loud, it wasn’t disturbing… we both had items from their small plates menu which was perfect so we could share and have several plates. She started with the gnocchi on the menu, and I had the spinach gnocchi special… hers was with mushrooms and mine had a Bolognese sauce… both gnocchi were light and airy, and tasty. the chef knows what he is doing. Second course I had the hanger steak, she had the grilled octopus. both were cooked well and were delicious…

Reservations at 8, had to wait but I big deal as we had drink at bar. The bar area is very narrow. All the seats were full and you can’t even walk behind the seats. Got seated finally, table for 6. Manager brought a round of shots over. Just something light and sweet. That was nice and he and the waiter were friendly. The food is what I expected, nothing over the top. I had pasta dish. Kind of small but good. Nice atmosphere and good time. I gave it 3 stars just because there wasn’t anything special.

Have had drinks here more than food, but what I have eaten has been all very good, well executed & served. A standout pasta is pappardelle with sausage in a light cream sauce… pasta is super(fresh) & perfectly cooked. The antipasto platter can be shared for 2 or more, and while not really a culinary feat of excellence, it is great & a value as well. Bread/Oil & Olives make the wine better & servers & peeps out front are friendly & welcoming. They top off waters & drinks without hesitation — which I like. Pizza was just OK, but it’s not a pizza place.

My husband and I went to Tazza last evening, and I must say I was totally underwhelmed! It was a Thursday, and the place was packed, probably because of the«Excellent» review in last Sunday’s New York Times. I don’t understand why the reviewer rated it so high. I had linguine with clams and he had a risotto dish. We both found them bland, although I must say that they were very generous with the clams. I wish they had put more«oomph» into the dish. Even the fresh ground pepper didn’t help. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but the noise level was so high that we couldn’t even carry on a normal conversation. I don’t like having to shout at my dinner partner all evening. There was a group of eight people at the next table that was doing a lot of drinking, and the more they drank, the louder they got. The acoustics are probably designed to be loud, as that seems to be what the majority of people like, for some reason. They have an enclosed porch, which I walked out to. It only had about five tables, but it was much quieter. Unfortunately, it was full. I gave it two stars because the staff was so nice, but I doubt if we’ll go back. I know they’re trying very hard, but there are so many better Italian restaurants in Westport and Fairfield.

I had a lovely time with my Groupon here. Snap one up while they last! Great and accommodating service(for lunch). Not sure about evenings or weekend. The parking lot might be an issue if it’s a busy weekend. They needed more tea selections, which they said they were working on at the time. But food was beautiful and delicious! The bar was spacious and fun décor. I loved it and will go back.

We went last night(Frriday night) and had a wonderful time! The owner was welcoming and generous. The bar staff were knowledgable and and accomodating. The food was fantastic! Had the gnocchi, octopus, and barrata as small plates. Perfect with a few wellmade martinis. The portions were on the small side because they are called SMALLPLATES. The entrees we saw were ample. Plus who wants a doggie bag of octopus anyway?!? Great local and regional incredients. We were even told they tested at least 15 kinds of tomatoes to compare and find the best for their menu. Now that is attention to detail! So if you want an uninspired pile of boxed spaghetti this is not your place as they even made homemade dough for manicotti shells and whipped up a spectaular dish on the spot for another patron when it wasn’t even on the menu! The prices are reasonable for food, wine, and mixed drinks. The service was great and we saw ample staff all night… frankly more staff than you typically see in a place twice its size. I even liked seeing the barbacks/bus boys in professional wait coats. Definitely cozy and comfortable. We are so happy to see this little spot come alive with new management, décor, and menu. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Will never come back. My friend brought me here as a surprise with 7 of my friends and she was completely embarrassed. Waited over an hour for our food and watched every other table served and cleared. We were the last table sitting before getting our food and no one would tell us why. After making a comment to our waiter and asking to see a manager, they stared at our table but refused to come confront the service. Later we approached THEM and were given excuses, like they didn’t expect such a large party… we made the reservation 3 days prior. Food was decent, most meals were cold by the time we were served. Maybe better with smaller party but the service and lack of communication was unforgivable. Very disappointing.

Was not impressed. Menu looked good — interesting and delicious — but preparation was subpar for the price. Maybe I hit them on a bad night. But I wouldn’t spend the money to chance it again at the high prices they’re charging.
