Tierney’s Copperhouse

Enjoyed a nice dinner with a friend earrly on a Friday night. Not very busy when we got there but the bar tables were full when we were leaving.
Drinks were unusual and delicious. Nice variety of offerings and alcohols. The fig martini definitely worth trying.
We shared an appetizer of truffled deviled eggs which were creamy and earthy and gone in a flash because they were so yummy!
We also shared the beet salad they divided and served the salad in separate plates to us without us asking. Nice touch! The salad was light & fresh and a beautiful mix of sweet oranges, crunchy red and gold beets, spicy red onions, creamy goat cheese and a tangy vinaigrette over baby arugula.
My friend had the hanger steak over the sweet potato and beet hash. Very yummy and cooked perfectly.
I choose the scallops over mushroom risotto and broccoli. The dish had 4 nice size scallops cooked nicely. I would have preferred more of a sear than a fry on them. It was a weird outer ‘crispiness’ to them. Not edible but just not what I’m used to with scallops. The risotto was done nicely and had good chunks of mushrooms. I wish they had offered a little more broccoli. I hardly call one cluster a side dish. Other than that it was filling.
As a baker I always look at dessert whether or not I think I want it. And I usually find room for something! The dessert menu was a bit of a let down. For such an eclectic menu for all other categories the desserts were disappointing. I felt like I had suddenly stopped into a TGI-​Fridays with an apple crisp, brownie a-​la-​mode, chocolate soufflé and crime brûlée. Ok so the Crème brûlée wouldn’t have been at TGI’s but you get the point. The dessert special was carrot cake. So my friend got the carrot cake and I got the brownie. The brownie was very good. Chunky with chocolate and a good vanilla ice cream. The special carrot cake was in my opinion anything but. It was more of a very heavily flavored spice cake with a sweet icing. I found it hard to find carrots. It wasn’t really worth getting.
Overall I suggest this place for great drinks and a wide variety of good foods. Skip the dessert! Be prepared to spend a little. The bill was about $ 150 (before tip) with 2 drinks each.

went there for a family event and ordered off the menu. ALL the food was outstanding. I had the chicken pot pie and it was excellent

My husband and I often stop here for lunch — we love all the food, but especially the clams. The preparation is fantastic. Be sure to ask for Tayla as your server. She is efficient, personable and fun — one of the best!

Went for dinner with another couple. Apps were great., deviled eggs and nachos… But Lobster Bisque was not good… No chunks of lobster. 2 of ordered the filet mignon and both steaks came out overcooked. We ordered them medium rare… And both came out medium at best… We sent them back because they were $ 40 a piece. The chef came out and asked if we really wanted to send them back because their idea of medium rare was not what the normal medium rare was and she didn’t want us to wait but wanted us to be happy. I have been to many steak places and no one has ever argued after sending a steak back that was not cooked properly. We informed her we wanted them medium rare… Steaks came back out 20 minutes later… Will not return.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this place existed near me. The food was delicious, service was friendly, and the décor was aesthetically appealing yet cozy.
The deviled eggs were like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. It almost had a white bean flavor to it, but delicious.
I had the scallops with mushroom risotto for an entrée and everything was well cooked, just slightly too salty for my taste. I would definitely recommend trying this place.

Never again about says it all! Our appetizers order was delivered to the table wrong, my son was served a cheeseburger with out cheese, my wife’s lobster bisque tasted like really bad MISO soup, My older sons burger was delivered wrong and tasted so bad we had to send it back. The surly waitress made the experience even worse. We asked that the heat be turned up TWICE but it never happened therefor our meals were freezing cold before we could finish them.

We stopped by to get a drink, but ended up having dinner. I had the shrimp cocktail. Large shrimp with Horse radish. They were cooked well and they were extremely large. The value was excellent. I also had the wedge salad. This consisted of an iceberg lettuce wedge, Bacon, tomatoes, onions, and blue cheese. A good salad for the price. My friend had the hanger steak. He had it done medium and it looked medium. He said it was very good. Excellent flavor and it came with two sides, he had the creamed spinach and the mashed potatoes. he said the The mashed potatoes were a bit too garlicky.
The service was very good and the waitress was very attentive. For part of the evening you were all alone in the dining room, which was nice.
I looked at the menu on Unilocal and decided prior to going there what I was going to have. Not knowing that the wedge salad was no longer offered. On Unilocal they actually called the wedge salad the copper house salad. So when I went and ordered I ordered the copper house salad. I ended up getting a different salad, which is something I didn’t want. The waitress was very nice and I returned the salad for the wedge. She said I guess will have to update the website on Unilocal.
Overall a nice experience.

My coworker and I embarked on Copperhouse when were on our way home from a business meeting. We were both AMAZED with how delicious the food was. We shared the truffle deviled eggs and the crab cake– both were probably the best appetizers I’ve had in a long time. I then got the seared scallops which are out of this world. She got the lobster roll which I had a bite of and was also very tasty! We both left grinning ear to ear with happy tummies. Even though I live far away, I would definitely come back. Our waitress was a sweetheart too.

This is our second time here and not disappointed at all ! I ordered the Lobster Roll and it so filling and delicious– would definitely order again.
There is a small area for outside seating which looked cozy, thinking maybe next beautiful night it would be nice to have dinner and drinks out there!

Well decorated, looked very clean, fun atmosphere. The food was very good, loved the signature pot roast nachos. Was a little bit over priced for the portion sizes, but definitely a nice place to go to once in a while.

If it were not for bumping into an old friend, I would not have known about this place (ok Unilocal helped too). This Tierney’s is cousins with the of the one in Montclair.
The host is a doll. The staff is fantastic (especially our waitress Maryann). The food… very good, borderline excellent).
Here’s the deal:
*Order the Signature Pot Roast Nacho’s as an app. There are 4 and the pot roast is like butter… you’re welcome.
*Tierney’s Burger — Gruyère Cheese, caramelized onions on a Kaiser roll… cooked to perfection and wonderful combo! Their fries were great too.
*Beet salad
*If you are splitting them, like we did, request they do half and half. You get your own portion of each which some restaurants don’t do… thank you TC.
*Ask to be seated where MaryAnn is the waitress. She’s the best we have had in years.
*Make a reservation. Place can get busy.
*Plenty of parking. Please is a sneeze away from Rt 46 but hidden.
*Tip generously.
*There seems to be a dining area to the left upon entering. I recommend bar area. Place is big enough to host a party.

We stopped at the Copperhouse for a late night, light dinner. The restaurant is very homey and comfortable. We ordered the artichoke pizza, we have had it before and it is delicious. But that night they forgot the pizza in oven and it got a little overdone. The waiter informed us that they put an other pizza in oven for us. Meanwhile they brought out the overdone pizza we ended up eating that and bringing home the new pizza. The manager, Adam, did not charge us for either pizza. A welcomed surprise. Definitely would go back for dinner soon. Thanks Adam!

Beautiful décor and great menu. The truffle fries are awesome. We love the burger too. The staff is very friendly and attentive — always accommodating.

Yikes this place isn’t good at all. I cane here before when it was a different restaurant. The menu is 3 pages of alcohol and 1 page of food items. Limited menu. They give you bread just enough for one piece each and the fried calamari was super salty.

A bit pricey, quality was pretty good, server was fantastic.
Avoid anything with the word ‘truffle’ in it… they use WHITE Truffle oil, it is nasty. Tastes like rotten garlic soaked in turpentine. It sadly ruined a nice batch of very well done fries and what would have been a great aioli.
The pot roast ‘nachos’ were interesting, slightly difficult to eat, and under seasoned, but the corn salsa on it was best I ever had.
Lobster roll had a few bits of shell in it, but was good, just didn’t need the lettuce under the lobster salad, to ‘bulk it up’.
We might go again.

My wife and I heard nothing but great things about Tierney’s Copperhouse, so we decided to stop in for a lunch date during the week. We were immediately impressed with the look of Copperhouse, since we are big fans of English style pubs. We sat at the roomy bar, but they also have 2 private dining areas that would be great for corporate or private parties/​events or a just regular night out.
They have a nice menu that features seafood, steak, pub-​style comfort food, burgers and some awesome appetizers, along with numerous beers on tap and a very good selection of bottles.
We ordered the highly recommended pot roast nachos and the pepperoni flat-​bread pizza. The nachos were beyond incredible and I now know why it is their staple dish and the pizza (nice and crispy) was the perfect size to share.
Tierney’s has now been added to our bar/​restaurant rotation when we want to enjoy a date night or a night out with our friends.

Went for a late lunch for the first time today. Being vegan, I expected to have a plate of lettuce while my meat eating husband feasted. I am pleased to say I was wrong! I confirmed the red sauce was vegan so I ordered the veggie flatbread with red sauce and no cheese. It was excellent! My husband had the chicken pot pie and said it was very good.

I was really expecting more from this place but I was left VERY disappointed! For example, they charge $ 15 for a small glass of beer… with so many places in the area to choose from, I am left to say next!

A friend suggested we try this place out so I read some reviews like I normally do or check out some pictures to get a feel of what I may want to eat. Nothing was jumping out at me though. Started off with a Copperhouse salad which is your basic iceberg wedge salad. Good blue cheese dressing, not too much bacon and a very large portion for $ 9. For dinner I decided to have the chicken pot pie. Also a good size, flaky crust, decent amount of chicken and veggies but an overwhelming amount of potatoes. Skipped on desert because nothing caught my eye and I was full! Place was good for a group. We had a reservation on a Saturday night and were immediately seated upon arrival. Friendly staff.

I was here for a baby shower a few months ago and the place is really cute inside. The food was decent and I liked the space.
