Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Be prepared to be strong-​armed. Whatever your coupon says… your car is that «special car» that requires all kinds of special add-​ons. Even though you have an American made 2007 GMC with 124,000. Miles — if you decline the up charges, you’ll have to sign a paper claiming you were fully aware you asked for regular old oil rather than the fragrant oil scented like the testosterone of Sheik Ali Kamanade. I’m not even convinced these carnies use new oil.

Second time I am bringing the car back because of oil leaks once i got it home. Last year the pan plug was screwed back on crooked. Yesterday they told my wife they couldnt find a leak because it was raining and to bring it back on a sunny day. WTF?

I’ve always felt like there’s some sort of negative stigma attached to oil change places that made me steer clear of them until today.
My experience at this Valvoline changed that. Immediately after pulling into the bay, Anthony approached the driver’s side window and proceeded to provide me with hands dowm the best customer service I have ever received. He was down to earth, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He completed all of the «safety checks», asked me how my day was going, and made some excellent recommendations about what service would be best for me — he also took the initiative and asked about my windshield wipers, which I have been meaning to replace for weeks now.
The rest of the guys on the team here were awesome as well: everyone was quick, efficient, and very friendly, but I am serious when I say that Anthony went above and beyone. I am into rally racing, and while the credit card was being processed we started talking about racing and how he is eager to become a part of the Valvoline Nascar team. I know this is «just another Unilocal review,» but I do sincerely believe he would be an incredible asset to the team. Thank you!

Scam? You decide
I ask my wife to bring our 2006 Volvo XC70 for CONVENTIONAL oil change. She walks down the street to TJ Maxx to shop while they do the work. She returns to a $ 90 bill and was told synthetic was REQUIRED per Volvo, which is not the case per the owners manual. Per a Volvo tech I know, sythetic oil in higher mileage engines (like mine) can lead to leaks as synthetic is thinner, and it is «not recommended» to go from synthetic to conventional oil. So I am screwed by Valvoline with the potential for oil leaks and committed to synthetic for the life of the car.
I wonder if being a woman had anything at all to do with this…

They seem to do an efficient job. Prices for an oil change are average for the area. In the half hour that I was there I noticed that they gave absolutely everyone a list of recommended repairs (including myself). I have a new car so the repairs (though inexpensive and minor) seemed unwarrented.

Excellent service, knowledgable employees and fast turnaround. I highly recommend them!

I went there once so far and all the guys seemed real nice. No complaints so far.
