Pizza chef employees are very nice friendly people to deal with. Pepperoni slices I thought were very good, One of the best NY thin style slices I’ve had in Monroe county. Very tasty ingredients. The cheese and sauce go perfectly together. I really like the crust too, Especially when it has a bit of charring on it. We ordered a large pepperoni and it was delicious too. The pricing is pretty fair for the quality. They’re my current favorite place for pizza.

I really like this place. I have ordered takeout a few times and it has been quick and the pizza is very good. I would recommend against their sausage topping as they do not put very much on the pizza and that they do put on is not very flavorful. Stick to the pepperoni.

My favorite pizza place ever. Never had an issue and even if I did I wouldn’t care because the staff is amazing and the pizza is as well. Always consistent.

Best thin crust around! They are as close to New York style pizza as you can get around here. A cheese and pepperoni pizza with medium wings is my favorite, but when I want to switch it up I order their taco pizza. It’s amazing!

I order from Pizza Chef usually twice a month and I am never let down. I have not tried a lot of the menu, but I always get a pepperoni pizza and medium wings. I ask for the wings to be well done and extra saucy and they always happily oblige. Definitely my go to pizza in the Fairport area.

Best slices around, hands down. Been coming here since I was in high school, and every time I come back home over the holidays, I always eat as much Pizza Chef as possible. I used to work at a great place in Fairport, which was amazing and sadly closed, but even then I would prefer getting slices here.

I work right across the street and this little hole in the wall has good pizza.

It has been some years since I had their pizza. They have a nice crisp crusty bottom with good cheese and topping ratio/distribution.

I agree with the other reviewer regarding the customer experience. I, too, WAS a regular customer as was my husband. We regularly stopped by for a slice and ordered whole pizza’s for take out almost every week for over 5 years. Not once did I ever feel comfortable there or welcomed or even wanted. When the owner was there he seemed to at least recognize me but was never more than barely pleasant and then I rarely saw him there anymore — only young high school girls in the«kitchen.» There are always a bunch of guys hanging out sitting at the one or two tables there — probably the delivery drivers and their friends. I would never eat there. It is intimidating just to walk through the doors and I am a person who in my younger days hitchhiked the country and slept in city parks making friends all along the way. The pizza is the closest to NY pizza we have ever found in Rochester but even that in recent years has suffered. The crust is still prepared and cooked well, but they started getting cheap on the sauce and cheese which is when I stopped patronizing this restaurant.

Not sure how this place has gotten any bad reviews. This is seriously the best NY style pizza in Rochester: thin crust, not soggy. Their wings are also amazing! When I come back to Fairport, this is always my first meal. It’s definitely a take-out place, and the building may not be the nicest, but the food is great and that’s all that matters.

I have no idea how this place will manage to stay in business. Time will tell, I guess. We had a coupon to use, so we decided to try their New York-style thin crust pizza(which I usually prefer) and their Sicilian(which my husband usually loves). We got the two pizzas home, opened the boxes, and you couldn’t tell one from the other except that one was square and one was round. My husband called to see if a mistake had been made in fulfilling our order. The girl who answered said that she had made the pizzas and insisted she had used the correct dough for each one. Ok… so we asked if the Sicilian was supposed to be different from the thin crust. «I don’t know,» she said, «I’ve never tried it.» What?! Generally Sicilian is a super thick bready crust, whereas thin crust is, well, THIN. But this girl – who was in charge of making out pizzas – didn’t know if the difference because… she’d never tasted them? So they gave us a credit for one pizza. That was nice. So we decided to give them another shot. Again, our«thin crust» pizza was just regular olé’ pizza. Not at all what I would call«thin crust». And besides that, it was just boring, bland, nothing to write home about. On top of that, the last time I called to order, I asked what the toppings on one of their specialty pizzas were. The girl on the phone said she didn’t know, hang on while she finds out, then she barely covers the phone while she hollers to someone else in the kitchen. Maybe if you put the toppings on your menu, either your customer can read it themselves on your website or your employee can reference it while taking an order so she doesn’t have to holler across the restaurant to someone else. Bottom line: Unprofessional service, apathetic employees, inaccurate menu, and ho-hum food. There are SOMANY other GREAT pizza places in Fairport, we have absolutely no reason to want to come back here.

Every time I’m in town I go here — it’s always a toss up of which is better… the pizza, the wings or the best chicken parm sub ever made. Bad for my diet, good for my happiness!

I used to work close to here and I loved coming here for lunch. I believe Wednesday was taco pizza day, which I looked forward to. The taco pizza is like a normal cheese pizza with seasoned ground beef and tomatoes on top. After it comes out of the oven, they sprinkle shredded lettuce on top. My favorite! Although the taco pizza and other«specialty pizzas» are available everyday if you order a whole pie, if you want to buy by the slice, they have cheese and pepperoni everyday and a certain specialty pizza depending on the day. The place is pretty small. If memory serves me correctly, there are only a few small tables. Perhaps enough to seat 4 – 6 customers? I never ate there – always took my slice back to eat at work. I didn’t feel like I would feel comfortable eating there. I kind of got the feeling that the workers were friends/family, and that there were a select few customers that they were really close to… I vaguely remember one of these customer-friends going behind the counter once. And although they weren’t unfriendly, it kind of bothered me that they never acted like they recognized me or anything, even though I went fairly regularly for the few months that I worked next door. Kind of felt like they had their own clique going and I was an outsider. But that’s just how I felt. I mean, the service was fine, just strangely impersonal for someone who gave them regular business. I haven’t been here in a while so I don’t remember the prices, but I think they were fair – not expensive, but not mind-blowingly cheap. Mmm now I want to go back and get a taco pizza :-D

This is the best New York City style pizza in the area!
