America’s Best Value Inn

This hotel was very very nice. They only had a few rooms so they charged us 85.00 each night for two nights. That’s with a CDL rate. The rooms were nice no problems. Then we went to swim in the indoor pool I don’t know what it was but it smelled awful. Then the man came in and said no jump off side. That pretty much killed it. But if I was in the area I would stay there again.

This motel doesn’t even deserve one star! They do not have enough non-​smoking rooms (IL law says at least 75% must be non-​smoking and they don’t begin to meet that requirement). Owner/​manager was very argumentative regarding smoking laws. The room we had reeked of stale cigarette smoke. We had terrible throbbing headaches the next morning and we aren’t especially allergic or sensitive to odors, but this was horrible. I don’t even know how a smoker could stand it! No compensation was offered — just more arguments and the owner even went so far as to say because we made our reservation on-​line, we weren’t entitled to a non-​smoking room. Not only will we never stay at this motel again, we’ll never stay at any America’s Best Value Inns! They are far from the «Best» and are certainly not a «Value».
