There are several TJMaxx and Marshall stores closer to where I live but this is the first TJM I have ever been to and it never disappoints. I can usually find some really great deals toward the end of a season or find some random things that are priced lower than other places. First of all, don’t expect to walk into a high-end store with all the frillies. You’ll find bargains here if you have the patience, young padawan. Now to serious shopping business! One of my regular purchases from here is a triple-milled French lavender bath/shower soap because they usually have them for a much better price than what I can find online or from Nordstrom Rack. This specific store carries a good variety compared to the others and I normally come out with a few soaps so I don’t have to come back very often. They also have great deals on salon brand shampoo and conditioner although if you are looking for specific ones, it could be a hit and miss. They have some facial cleanser for cheaper than what you could get them for from Beauty Brands which is wonderful. If I can get something for less, I definitely will! I have made several purchases from here including shoes, accessories, home necessities, clothing and have never been disappointed. I have been buying some food containers here for my lunches and they have awesome deals on those. I might replace all my old storage containers in a few more visits! Some of the things here might be last season’s but those would mostly be the shoes and clothing. As far as the home essentials and hair care products, I don’t think they really go out of style. My only issue is that this place is not so organized. Like I said, patience.

I just can never find anything good here. The stores in Carbondale and Paducah, KY I have had better luck with. Beauty care area is always a mess. Prices are always too high it seems.

TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and Home Goods hold a very special place in my heart. I have gotten many a designer handbag for way cheaper than at any high end department store. In the past year, I have begun to embrace my domesticity and branch out into the décor section of TJ Maxx. During my most current visit, I found several desk organizers on clearance for around $ 10! I also found a two piece Cuisinart skillet set for $ 15…needless to say, I was beyond happy. What some people may dislike about these places is the treasure hunt you must embark on to find the item you’re looking for. I see this as a fun game. I rarely go to TJ Maxx looking for one specific item, so it’s exciting to me.

Post-holiday picked over clothing, but managed to find one tie I liked. There were a few scattered quality cooking pieces in the housewares, but nothing in a color or size that interests me. I’ll have to look a little harder for the Anthony Bourdain inspired saucepan heavy enough to ding heads.

Nothing really special about this place. It was a mess, and the inventory wasn’t very good either. The lines were a little slow, but it wasn’t a disaster either. Would be willing to give a second chance.
