History
Established in 1923.
In 1923, Clara and Russell Stover began making candy in the kitchen of their Denver bungalow home. The company, initially employing seven employees, is first known as Mrs. Stover’s Bungalow Candies. The Stover’s recipes were made with only the finest cream, butter, nuts and chocolate; truly «handcrafted in small batches».
By 1924, they were operating five stores in Denver, as well as stores in Kansas City, Lincoln, Omaha, and St. Louis. Eventually, they opened the first factory in Denver. By 1943, the company headquarters has relocated to Kansas City and the company name is officially changed to Russell Stover Candies. Russell Stover Candies has grown into the number one boxed chocolate company in the United States with iconic product offerings such as bowline boxes and classic red foil hearts. The company continues to develop innovative and unique products, all still predicated on their principle of «handcrafted in small batches».
