We just had 6 trees removed from around our home. Both crews that came out for the removal and then for the stump grinding were outstanding. They were on time, professional, safe, cleaned up after themselves and ensured we had a positive experience from start to finish. We HIGHLY recommend them!

I needed a stump removed asap that my tractor couldn’t pull out. Curtis came the next morning and got it out with a big 90hp loader. Everyone else I called either didn’t have the machinery for the job or didn’t get back to me until days later. They were professional, responsive, and fairly priced. I looked into renting the same machine on my own and it would have cost me 50% more than they charged me.

I just had a tree removed by Eastside Tree Works. The estimate originally included trees that we need to watch, but we decided to have only one tree taken down. It was a dangerous tree, but the estimate was much better than another one I received. The next day, the crew arrived, rigged into a nearby tree, and took it down safely within an hour. They quickly shredded the parts and cleaned up any debris left behind, even blowing the walks and raking the lawn.
They told me they are available at all hours for emergencies. I’m sure I’ll call them again.

Eastside Tree Works responded to a tree that fell onto my roof last wind storm. I had a HUGE tree fall from my neighbors property onto & into my roof at 3 am on a Sunday morning. I was frantic & thought that I would be leaving a message for someone to get back to me in the normal morning hours. To my surprise they answered their phone and they were at my house within the hour. The gentleman that showed was very professional and extremely helpful. He assured me that they would get the tree off my roof and get the hole covered to prevent more water from seeping in. Shortly after agreeing to have the work done the crew appeared & saved the day! I could not believe how fast & efficient they were! They removed the tree & covered my roof & came out a few days later to finish cleaning up. They did a fantastic job and I commend all of them for their hard work! Thank you!

I recently had a 3 – 4 ft diameter willow tree come down in the last windstorm. I contacted several tree removal companies I found on Craig’s list and ended up using Eastside Tree Service. The estimator, Chris, was on time for our appointment and I was scheduled in a very reasonable time. The bid was very reasonable considering the size of the job. BUT, the best part was watching the crew work. They were extremely efficient and fast and competent. I was amazed how well they worked, how high the quality of equipment was, and how clean and thorough they were. I highly recommend this company. I recently had tree work done by Eastside Tree Works, they did an AMAZING job! I have several very tall, large beautiful trees on my property. I needed dead wood taken out and for the trees to be thinned out so that I can get more sunlight to come in. Eastside Tree Works did exactly what I needed to have done and my trees look beautiful and I finally have some light coming into my front windows. The crew was
very professional, efficient and polite. They did a fantastic job cleaning up. I highly recommend this company if you are looking to have your trees well taken care of.

At my request, Matt (the owner) came out with Chris to discuss the situation detailed in my previous review. I wanted to avoid a he-​said-​she-​said situation with the work crew.
While I got the slightest hint of condescension from both of them regarding the situation, they explained their approach and the way the crew is instructed to work. At minimum, as a customer, I’m better informed, and I will own responsibility for being more clear about what I want to end up with.
— As far as what was run across the loan, the theory is that branches may have been drug across to get to my driveway so they can chip off the street for safety reasons. I can’t confirm or deny, and ultimately it’s moot.
— Matt himself stayed behind — in flip-​flops no less — to rake up the debris left behind by the team.
— We never came to a conclusion on the mysterious voicemail except that I should have called back. Problem is, I don’t call back unless it’s a company name or a personal name I recognize on the other line. Most consumers I know are the same in this day and age of spam.
Their goal is to preserve the health of the tree, regardless of what you want done, otherwise they expect you’ll cut it down. In some cases you aren’t at liberty to cut the tree down but still don’t want it dominating your lawn getting sun or rain. In these cases, do whatever you can to clarify EXACTLY what you want done so there are no assumptions on either side.

I had a clump of 4 Maples near my home, the largest of which was rotted and threatening to fall on my neighbors house. I contracted ETW to take out the rotted trunk entirely and prune the rest of the trunks. The estimate for the rotted trunk was about $ 2000 and the pruning was about $ 800. During the estimate, the ETW guy pointed out several overlapping branches that would be pruned.
After they finished taking down the large rotted trunk (which they did well) I learned that they never changed their rope rigging to prune any of the other trunks. They pruned a couple branches from the same rope location they used for the main trunk. And from that location, they could only reach perhaps 20% of of the cluster of trunks and branches.
I called them on it and they said the pruning was done to ISO standards and that they were experts, implying I wasn’t (i’m not). I asked them how you can possibly prune to ISO standards when you cannot reach 80% of the main branches? Nor did they prune several overlapping branches the estimator pointed out when he was first on site.
I gave them a chance to make me (the customer) happy, even mentioning that I would write a review (good or bad) online when they were finished. If they would have come back to fix their mistake, I would give them 4 stars for integrity. Instead they took the opportunity to reiterate that I wasn’t the expert.
I paid $ 2800 plus tax for two guys working for at most 6 hours with ropes and chainsaw. That’s steep.

When a tree falls it’s not a good day, and when that tree is on your house and power lines, it can quickly become a really bad day. Four days ago this was me — a large tree pushed over by the wind put my house at risk of fire as the live powerline was ripped from the masthead on my roof. I contacted Eastside Tree Works and the owner himself came to my home to look at the damage and provide an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything while assuring me he could remove the tree without causing any additional damage. This was critical to me since I had a Koi pond next to my home and directly below part of the tree.
The tree removal happened in two stages — the first stage removed the tree from the home and the powerlines so that I did not have to worry about additional damage (the power lines where already fraying and wouldn’t last long). His crew was amazing to watch — they worked so fast and knew exactly where to cut to remove the large section of the tree without causing any additional damage. Due to the wind storm the demand for crews was high — yet his crew arrived at my home just as the sun was setting and worked into the dark doing their craft. By the end of their visit my home was much safer and absolutely no additional damage was done — not a single roof tile was hurt from their work!
The second stage involved removing the bottom of the tree, clearing up other tree branches so that new power lines could be ran to my home, and removing all the branches, leaving behind plenty of firewood that I could use in my chimneys. Watching the crew complete the additional work was just as amazing — my yard was a disaster and they turned it into something normal in no time.
I worked with them to also bill my homeowners insurance directly for the parts it covered — they easily separated out the parts I was responsible for. What started out as a horrific event was made so much easier by using Eastside Tree Works. I would encourage anyone needing work done, emergency or not, to strongly consider them.

I was really pleased with the results! It had been at least 8 years since any of the trees had attention and now I feel like they’re ready for the winter. Matt explained a lot when he and Berl came to do the estimate and then the three crew who did the work did a great job and worked with me on sight lines from the kitchen and deck. Thanks!

Great work, efficient service and follow up. Crew was very professional, cutting and clearing done well on a very steep hillside. Follow up calls and service done promptly.

Overall positive experience. We have used Eastside Tree Works at two separate properties. The first job was a 100ft Birch tree which fell over during Thanksgiving and split our beloved Rainer Cherry tree and the second job was a downed Willow branch, plus removal of 3 dead apple trees. Both times the initial assessors were knowledgeable and helpful. The pricing was great for both jobs with excellent discounts.
Both times, the crews were safety conscious, professional and left the property cleaner than when they started.
There were a couple communication glitches, e.g. the second job we waited a few days for a call back to start the process, and pinning them down on their time to arrive was difficult on both jobs. I have to admit that I am a little anal and wanted to be onsite when the trees were being chopped down.
Additionally the removal crew missed the wood in the back yard on the second job, but a quick call to the office and it was sorted out and removed shortly thereafter.
On the whole we had a positive experience and will use Eastside Tree Works again in the future.

Outstanding service, excellent work! The crew (Cole, Justin and Evan) arrived on time and were so respectful of our home and landscape. We hired them to prune and clean our 85′ cedar. They were the most professional and efficient team we’ve hired and actually left the area cleaner than when they arrived. We highly recommend East Side Tree Works and will use them again.

They were going door to door in my neighborhood soliciting work. That should have scared me but I had them take a look at a large cedar tree. They sent a couple of very nice guys over and they agreed that it needed to be thinned and cabled.
They explained what it meant to «cable» a tree and that they highly reccommened doing this. They seemed to be efficient and they were very polite and cleaned up the mess afterwards. They did NOT cable the tree however! I looked in vain for the cable and so did several of my friends… NO CABLE!
I called «Glenn» and left a nice message asking if he could please either cable the tree as he agreed or at least point it out to me. After leaving at least three seperate phone messages with never a return call I gave up.
They were friendly and polite and I expected at least a return phone call!
Never again!

I hired them to remove a huge maple from my neighbor’s backyard. Every interaction was professional and informative, even with a neighbor situation that was less than idealic. They were polite and calmed my neighbor’s tenant down, they were efficient, and cleaned up after themselves well. They even managed to put my fence back up more stable than it was before. I completely recommend them.

I hired Eastside Tree Works to removing two dying trees from my property. When removing a tree, they carelessly damaged a lamp post on the property, leaving it bent and nonfunctional. In addition, they did not clean up the messes made for each tree until multiple phone calls were made and people were sent out on two separate occasions.
After discussing this experience with them, they sent a third party contractor to assess and potentially fix the lamp. Unfortunately, this resulted in him doing further damage then attempting to charge $ 175 to fix the mistake he had made. When I refused, he abandoned the work, leaving exposed wiring at multiple locations on the property, and gave incorrect information to tree company in an attempt to free them from any wrong-​doing.
In the end the quality was below my expectations and resulted in a ton of lost time and damage to my home that they will not fix.
UPDATE: After leaving my feedback, the owner reached out to me in hopes of rectifying the experience I had. I appreciate his level of honesty and genuine interest in ensuring that his company had done their due diligence to reach a proper outcome. We came an agreement in order to attempt to return of the damaged property to the condition it was prior to the accident. I do believe my experience probably does not reflect what many other costumers have seen.

I had a fine experience. They quoted a fair price, did the work quickly, and when there was a misunderstanding, the owner called me and asked me what I would like done to be satisfied, and did it without any hassle.

Really unreliable people, I keep calling to setup an appointment and they won’t return my calls, we finally agree on a day and time and they just didn’t show up, what kind of business is this, I bet they don’t even have an office, they just have a cellphone and are only in the road, not a serious company beware.

Don’t bother. We had two appointment times set, one for bid date and time (they didn’t show) finally we had to call twice and request rhey came Saturday… they did, made bid and time for the work to be done… No one showed, numerous calls and reschedule, didn’t show again. We cancelled the job and told them we would go elsewhere. Ugh!
