Paradise Residential Care Facilities For The Elderly, Inc.

My father-​in-​law stayed at Paradise for the last few months of his life. Fifi is the owner of the residence and she runs a beautiful place. My wife and I visited every day and we were treated like family. Shirley is the lead nurse and she was fantastic. She provided us a daily update and made us feel comfortable every day we were there. The staff listened to us and always respected our wishes. The number of residence is limited to 6. This insures that everybody gets excellent care.
The residence is in the hills of Fallbrook. It is surrounded by large properties making for a very quiet location. All doors are alarmed and the house has a security gate at the entrance. The house is very clean. It does not smell like many residences we have visited and believe me, we have been to many over the last couple of years.
It was not cheap. But the level of care, cleanliness, location and food are definitely worth the price.

When finding a place for your family, it’s important to know and understand the team who operates. I have know Fifi for over 25 years, and have seen how much she cares for her clients as if they are Her own family members. This trait is highly valued as the accountability she takes to ensure her clients and client’s family are happy. I would highly recommend. Additionally, the property is very clean, which is a huge plus.

When you meet Fifi, the administrator, you can feel her warm and compassion. She genuinely cares and it feels like her goal is to treat you and everyone she is caring for as family not just as a client or patient. I have found her to be very reliable and responsible, I whole heartedly trust her and her staff to provide for whatever my loved one needs in my absence.

The admin, Fifi, works a lot with her care givers. She is very dedicated to her team, and works closely with her clients families as she takes in a lot of pride in what she does.

Fifi, the admin, flows with a lot of love and passion for her customers, which is shown in the excellence she wants to provide to them.

This is a great facility (clean, competent and caring staff members) My mother was very happy during the 3 years she lived at the facility. Their palliative and hospice care was excellent, I would recommend them whole heartily if you need to place your loved one for assistant living.

If there was an option to put a negative star, then I would. Do NOT put your loved one in this facility. The website does not give you any indication about the actual situation happening in this facility. The staff are inexperienced, they have taken things from my family member to the point that she had to carry her jewelry in her purse to ensure that they would not steal it. The bathrooms are not clean or secure. The flooring is not stable due to multiple flooring types (tile, wood floors, etc.) and wooden inch-​high risers that connect the different flooring. There are stairs going into the facility, in the foyer and the outside, with no railings for stability. It is located on a steep hill which makes it dangerous for residents since they can walk out the front or back.
The «receptionist» who is apparently also the housekeeper speaks terrible English and has a thick accent, which makes it extremely difficult to understand. Residents are parked in front the family room TV for hours on end with little to no physical activities. The owner has rules and policies that change frequently. We were told that my family member could not go offsite, however there policy states they can be offsite for 4 hours at a time.
The home health aides smoke and are allowed to smoke in the outside backyard resident common area. My family member is allergic to cigarette smoke, which made it hazardous to her health.
This is NOT a place to put anyone you love. Plus the amount per month is outrageous for what you get.

The staff and facility are very good and clean, but the owner FIFI, is very Greedy, unfair and will try to raise rates to a ungodly amount without notice. Be very aware if you plan to put your family member in this home. SHE IS 5150

I had a hard time choosing a rating for this business.
The home itself, is BEAUTIFUL. Very spacious. Lots of windows. Outdoor area is very niced. The home is gated and secured for alzhemiers patients.
The owner Fifi, has an outgoing personalitiy. She does not live on site. From what it seemed to us, her father helps her run the buisness at times when it comes to billing.
The ladies who live there seem happy.
The Cons: The entire time our loved one was there, we only saw ONE caretaker. Mona was her name. She was there, day and night, weekdays and weekends. I found that STRANGE, since everyone needs a break. We made sure to visit at different days and times. Mona, was very buisness like. Not necessarily loving and sweet, but a «to the point’, ‘Get what needs to be done’ caretaker.
The owner was there occassionaly, sometimes she stopped in during the days for a few hours. I personally didnt see much of her. But did meet her for the first meetings.
The other thing that could be taken as a pro or con is that in order to get into visit your loved one, you will have to drive up to a gate, state your name into a speaker and they will then open the gate and let you in. This is good for security to make sure a car cant drive up the driveway. But…
By the time you drive up, state your name, drive up the driveway, park, get to the door, knock and wait for the door to be opened, your loved one can be positioned in any room, before you get to your loved one.
At other residential homes, its easy to pop in and see what your loved one is doing, without notice. Other homes you can just knock on door and door will be opened swiftly.
Its important to be able to check on your loved one regularly, and without notice.
This home seemed to like having ‘notice’. They didnt demand it, but they stated a few times that if they had ‘notice’ they can make sure our loved one is ready.
The home was always clean and well taken care of.
Our loved one was always clean and our loved ones room was always clean.
Since our loved one moved three more times after this home, due to finances. We found two other WONDERFUL and CARING caretakers, and one who was the worst of them all. From the four homes our loved one lived in, my main concern is cleanliness and the personality of the caretaker… This caretakers personality was… ok…
I think maybe the owner needs to pay for a few other caretakers, everyone needs a break to RESTORE AND REFRESH, in order to keep on caring for the elderly.
When I asked if there were other caretakers, they always said ‘yes’. Yet, myself and my other visiting family memebers NEVER saw another person. At first I supposed that the other caretakers come AT NIGHT, as visiting hours are over at 8pm. But each time we visited we asked the same caretaker we always saw if she was going home and if another caretaker was coming and she always said «no’ its just her there this day and that she sleeps there. This was our answer everytime… that today its just her, day and night.
We showed up on weekends, assuming she had weekends off. But to our surprise this same caretaker was ALWAYS THERE. In about 8 months, we (multiple family members visiting at different days and hours) never saw another caretaker.
The only other person we saw was Fifi the owner, who pops in, early in the day for a few hours. But even while she is there, the caretaker is still working.
Still, this wasnt the worst place or the best. So I tried to rate it accordingly.
It’s hard when your loved ones have dementia, because no matter where they live, you never know what things are like when your not there. We never saw anything bad going on here. The caretaker was COURTEOUS and was FREINDLY ENOUGH, but very busness like.
