Zion Lutheran School

We have loved Zion Lutheran School for 14 continuous years. More importantly, our kids have loved Zion and all it has to offer. My daughter is currently enrolled and is not a member of the Church. She has thrived academically and spiritually in this safe Christian environment with teachers that she absolutely loves. Every teacher has been incredible. They have the expertise and experience to teach at the highest level. My child will leave here well prepared for high school. The size of the school is smaller than years past due to the economy but I like it that way. I would be selfish though if I didn’t share and encourage others to come see for themselves. Words just cannot express how much we love and believe in this school.

My child attends Zion and is thriving! We chose this school based on the high academics of the faculty. Every teacher has a college degree from pre-​school through eighth grade… some with Master’s. That means a lot to me as a parent. Zion values education as well as Christian values. The academics are spot on… because of small class size, the teacher can individualize instruction based on personal needs and strengths and weaknesses. The teachers give so much of themselves to not only the students, but also to the parents. The environment is safe and loving. The school has a real family feeling to it. The students know each other and are learning such nice values. Teachers from each grade know every student regardless of grade. It is such a peaceful and conducive facility to embark on a successful educational journey. I can’t imagine anyplace else. I highly recommend Zion Lutheran to anyone in North County! This is an excellent school.

There are a lot of good schools in Fallbrook!

Our two children have both been incredibly blessed by the opportunity to attend this school. They have learned so much in such a caring community.

My son is soon to be an 8^th grader at Zion and has been a student here since the 2^nd half of the Kindergarten school year.
He previously attended another Christian school, but his dad and I pulled him from the school when his Kindergarten teacher informed us her career path and focus was not for teaching. We knew of Zion, but at the time, logistically it didn’t work with our career schedules. Shame on us! This was our first significant lesson in parenting. You must look inside your heart and sacrifice anything and everything in order to raise a good, Christian child. Nobody said it would be convenient or easy and this was an eye opener for both of us. With this experience, I truly believe everything happens for a reason and God works in mysterious ways leading us back to Zion.
Since my son has been at the school, he has not been the only one who has strengthened his Christian Faith. As a family, we were your typical «2 Day a year, holiday church goers– Christmas and Easter». It wasn’t until my son came home from school one day in 1^st Grade, that his father and I realized the profound impact his teacher, and the Christian environment he was in everyday had on shaping the person he was becoming. He had waited all year long for his chance to bring in a «Share and Tell» item which was special to him. At the beginning of the week, his teacher sent home a large fabric bag for him to carry his item in. I asked him several times what he was going to take with him to school. Each time, he said he wanted to think about it all the while I was pushing for his favorite toy, game, etc. On the last morning, he finally told his dad and me what he was taking to school with him. This seven year old boy sat at the kitchen table and in a very matter of fact way told us he was taking the empty bag back to school. We were both in shock when he let us know the empty bag symbolized the empty tomb of when Jesus rose from the dead to save us from our sins. Ok, another life lesson for his parents! This was the push we both needed to come back to Christ and to start living and walking the talk of a Christian life we always thought we were living.

After 8 years of not only being taught Christian values, my son is also receiving an incredible education. There were 12 students in his class for 7^th grade and all have been on the honor roll at one time or another. If you are wondering, his teachers through 7^th grade have been amazing! His 6^th grade teacher, not only made it a point to know him in 1^st grade, but every year had been counting down the days until she would be his teacher! All of our teachers take the time to get to know ALL students from Pre-​School on up. I know some of the younger parents might not know this comparison, but I have always thought Zion was a lot like the TV series Cheers. When he would walk past a teacher, starting in Kindergarten, they would all call out to him by name and it kind of reminded me of when Norm would walk into Cheers and everyone would shout out «Norm». It was funny, because for the first year, I would constantly ask him who is that teacher or staff member and how do they know you? I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing? It finally dawned on me this school is a prime example of «It takes a village to raise a child!» All the teachers and support staff are here because they feel it is their calling to partner with parents and Christ in raising our children in a Christian environment. This school is truly built and runs on the love of teaching, but more importantly, the love of Christian Faith. Teaching is a calling and no one travels this path in order to become wealthy. They teach because they truly love what they do and how they shape a person’s life and future. I can’t help but be in awe of the fact that when the economy took a turn for the worse, my son’s fourth grade teacher, came out of retirement after 40+ years of teaching to volunteer to teach his class. She taught for 2 years without pay. She did this unselfishly to keep the school open for the benefit of our children and the health of their Christian Faith. Our Church Family here at Zion also embraces and supports the school!
Our little Christian school in Fallbrook is like the little engine that could! It is only fair I also mention the incredible parent and church volunteers who help to bring projects like fundraisers across the goal line every time! All of our sports teams are coached by volunteers, parents and church members alike. There is nothing more amazing than to watch these kids huddle together and pray before a game!
I know that each and every family goes through personal and financial sacrifice to send their children to Zion. Know this, it is entirely worth it!

My daughter has been going to school at Zion for the last 2 years. I have been more than pleased with her education and the staff. Both of her teachers have been amazing! Everyone was more than willing to work with me when I lost my business. We are very sad to have to leave during the school year and will miss everyone! I would highly recommend Zion to friends!

Please do not send your kids to this school especially if you are a divorced family. They do not follow court orders and they pick sides. Unfortanatly I lost out on several key events for my son and I will never get those back. Even after having a conversation with the principal– nothing got better– and she had NO follow through. There are much better places in Fallbrook to send your kids!
