We purchased our second Volvo from Don Beyer and it was an excellent experience! Yousef Alhooie was our sales person and he was so easy to work with. My husband and I would highly recommend you ask for him if you are considering purchasing a new vehicle from Don Beyer. You won’t regret it!

I’ve purchased 5 cars from this dealership and they do all the services on my Volvos. I mostly work with Gene in the service department and Deborah in sales and will continue to buy future Volvos from them. The team does a great job taking care of me and the management is very responsive in the rare times there are any issues. The waiting area is nice and the wifi is fast.

The entire service and sales staff at Don Beyer are the very best. They never let me down.

Gene Sladkin was great to work with. The only downside is that it took 4 hours, but he said it would be 3 – 4 hours so I was prepared for it.

Pricey, but not the worst experience.

I had a Volvo, didn’t buy it from them so I can’t comment about the sales department. I did take it there for service, the one positive comment is the shuttle service to metro is nice.
After the warranty something needed to be repaired almost every visit, you can’t just go in for an oil change without them wanting to «fix» something. A few times I would say we will do that next time, the next time there was no talk of «fixing» it. If you have car knowledge it might be an okay place to go. I don’t trust them and never will.
I needed to get a truck, couldn’t have 2 cars where I lived so I sold the Volvo, funny thing, I have 70,000 miles on the truck and nothing other than routine care has been needed.

We went there to look for a pre-​owned car on a hot summer day. We were received by the most unwelcoming salesman ever, he did’n even bother offering us a drink or a cup of water in the high noon heat. He was kind enough to show us the car and let us take one for a test drive. However, when we asked if the price is negotiable he said no and that makes «easier for everyone»…he never tried to earn the business. When we finally were about to leave, he reluctantly handed his card but never shook hands and didn’t bother getting our contact information. Just a strange experience at that place.

Contacted dealership about a vehicle I was prepared to purchase on the spot and for MSRP. Was told they had two in stock, one of which was still wrapped in plastic from delivery. My husband and I made an appointment and drove the one hour with our newborn baby to the dealer to purchase the vehicle only to find that there was already a deposit on BOTH vehicles. Total waste of our time and the salesperson (Deborah…Horrible!) couldn’t have cared less that we were put out. She had four hours to check on this and call us to let us know and didn’t bother. Just lazy and terrible customer service. Go to Rosenthal in Fairfax instead which is where my husband bought his Volvo.

Please promote Brandy for reminding me how well Don Beyer Auto takes care of it’s customers, I purchased a new set of Tires for my Volvo S80 from Don Beyer Auto although I was told by a company called Mr. Tire, that they had the lowest prices in town. Brandy reminded me about the Balcing Rotating responsibilities that, as well as, letting me know that I could and did receive a discount for donating some baby diapers!

Nothing has changed since the last time I rated Don Beyer Volvo. I decided to trade for a newer, larger model and their staff, particularly Reeva, guided me every step of the way. I have no doubt the new car and the service will continue as always.

Can I give less than one star? We ordered a small part from them four weeks ago and have received no up date. Terrible communication. Terrible customer service. Just plain terrible.

We bought a 2007 xc-​90 here 5 years ago. It came with free inspections. I was just in for inspection and was notified upper motor mount failed. I had MY mechanic look at my car. He said there were no defects or problems. I challenged my rejection by calling the state police, (804) 674‑2000. The state police monitor all state inspection facilities. I brought my car back to the dealership and had the police officer and mechanics look at it together. After reviewing his book and making calls, the officer passed my car on inspection. YEA, for the officer. BOO, on the dealership for wasting my time and making me come in again.
Most people would have paid the $ 345 to fix it and would have been done with it. My husband texted me twice, while I was waiting, to get it fixed. I’m glad I challenged it. In my dealings with the service department, I find that they can always find a problem with your car.

Never have had a bad experience. Very professional. I’ve never had to wait long. Addressed any issues. And more importantly, no surprise bills.

I’ve been here twice, and admittedly for unpleasant car maintenance or repair reasons. That being said, this dealership is excellent — the service is phenomenal, the availability of loaners is superb, the online scheduling system works perfectly to avoid unnecessarily burdening my time, and the technicians are on top of car repair issues.
As people note on here, this place is pricey. I’m sure there are cheaper places in the area — after all, it’s a dealership, and they aren’t going to skimp on parts or the extent of repairs. Still, I can’t complain about the quality of the service or their repairs.

I have been servicing my Kia Sedona Minivan at Don Beyer for 4+ years and still have broken side mirrors and a broken passenger-​side sliding door. I have been extremely patient because they always say the right things, but at the end of the day if you can not fix a vehicle you can not be considered a first-​rate service center.
There is no communication between various departments (mechanics, service representatives, loaner car department) and the consumer pays for that dearly (pun intended!). The service team (Gene, in particular) are often extremely condescending and patronizing… not sure if it is because I am female, but if I say something is broken and show video, take me for my word. Their response is if they can not reproduce problem in the shop, there is obviously no problem. And defective side mirrors are not thought to be a priority as I was told «it is not dangerous. And if you need to adjust them, just push them manually.» How is that an appropriate response from your service agent?!
I really have enjoyed the Kia minivan and am in the market for a new car. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing another Sedona because I can not subject myself to another 4+ years of this «service». And as for Corporate’s response to just go to another dealership, why should the consumer now be the one to travel extra miles and be further inconvenienced because the closer dealership is inadequate? I do sincerely hope that Beyer Kia is held accountable for their poor overall customer service.

Do not buy your car here. We purchased a used XC90 here 3-​years ago with 20,000 miles on it. We’ve put less than 30,000 miles on the SUV and despite that it is constantly in the shop. Even worse, we will take the car in with one problem to only discover another as soon as we get the car back. This week the car was in the shop twice with two different problems. The XC90 is clearly a lemon, but combined with the poor service and lack of attention to detail we won’t be going back to Don Beyer.

It is really hard to imagine a dealer experience being better than that we’ve had with Don Beyer over the years. We bought our first certified used car from them in 2003 (a V70XC), and it served us well (still have it)…though we did have to utilize the awesome certified Volvo warranty from time to time.
When we needed a new car in 2010 we stopped by DBV and connected with a sales agent, Yousef A. Negotiating with Yousef was stress free and mostly done via email. The next time we saw him was when we went in to sign the paperwork. The vehicle we bought (taking into account the model, color and accessory combination) wasn’t available to he handed us the keys to a new S60 and told us to drive it as much as we wanted until our specific vehicle arrived.
Since then we’ve had great experience after great experience with DBV. They’re very close to our house, their website enables appointments to be made online, they have late night vehicle drop-​off, sometimes have loaners available, always wash & clean the car, and their waiting room is spacious, clean and with free coffee and CNN.
When repairs are needed (and none of our cars are covered by warranties now) they can be expensive, but you’re paying the inflated cost of OEM parts more than anything (and that would be the case with any dealer or any car). DBV frequently sends out nice coupons.
Chris P. and Gene (service agents) have treated us very well over the years. We’ll need a new car soon and DBV tops the list of dealers we’d consider to get our business. Thanks to DBV for the many years of great service!

As many people have mentioned, the place is expensive. I came in for one $ 250 (+$ 600 for labor) issue and came back with several recommendations that needed would have cost over $ 3000.
However, contrary to what others have said, I believe that their recommendations are thorough and reasonable. While they try to sell it to you a little, you ultimately have the choice of going through with it. I ended up going with a temporary fix so I could drive back and get it fixed elsewhere.
While my advisor Will was very friendly and knowledgeable, overall I did not feel this place was anything special, especially given the price. When I tried to get some technical language from the mechanic as to what they did to do the temporary fix, I was told, «Took some panels apart, banged a hammer, and lubricated it.»
That being said, I have given my experience three stars. I was given the service requested without difficulty but believe I could have paid less and had better customer service somewhere else.

I called the dealership to make an appointment to see an used 2010 Kia that they posted on their website. The salesperson (Paul) was polite on the phone, and I headed out there on a Friday afternoon.
It took me about an hour to get to the dealership, and Paul was great about getting the Kia ready for the test drive. During the test drive, Kia drove great and Paul was a delight. The condition was also top-​notch.
However that’s when I asked about the price. It was $ 4000 above their website posting. I asked about why there was such a difference (I pulled up their website on the computer), he found out the Kia I test drove was a completely different vehicle. Same model, similar mileage, off by one year and $ 4000 more expensive. So I asked about the cheaper one, and they ended up making the mistake of saying it was an automatic, but it’s actually a stick shift, which I’m not interested in.
All in all, Paul was a delight to deal with. But it’s inexcusable that I wasted almost 3 hours of my time test driving the wrong vehicle. I specifically said the year, make and model of the vehicle that I wanted to drive, and it ended up being a different one. The right one was posted incorrectly on the web site.
Paying attention to details is what separate a good dealership than an average one.
