The work they did was fine but our experience with the drainage consultant was terrible. We confirmed that we wanted the work done and sent in the contract and half the payment required and then didn’t hear from them again. I contacted the drainage consultant several times and never heard back so I then had to contact the company itself and raise a stink. That got the drainage consultant back in touch with me and he said he had me on the schedule but forgot to contact me to tell me the date. They did come out to do the work — after rescheduling at least once — but didn’t follow the stone’s pattern when laying them back down so I had to contact them again to get that resolved. Did I mention that when they were cleaning up(I was watching them from my bedroom window) they decided the bag of debris was too heavy to carry back to the work vehicle so one of the workers dug through the bag and started to throw heavy pieces into the woods behind our house?(which actually happens to be a drainage area in a shared community). Anyway, it took them weeks to get the pattern fixed because the drainage consultant left the company without ever getting my issue resolved. I kept on sending him texts but got no response so I called the company who came out within a day and resolved the issue. While the company was responsive when contacted, the drainage consultant was not. Based upon this experience, I would not use them again(although maybe things would be better with another drainage consultant).

We live in Loudon County and the dirt doesn’t absorb water well. When we moved into our home a year ago, our backyard was very marshy. Every time it rained, our sump pump pushed out a ton of water into our yard and it would take weeks to dry. We had a contractor come out to build a well of sorts, which didn’t work at all. Instead, we just ended up essentially having a small pond in our backyard — with disgusting stagnant water! It was awful! We had numerous contractors come out and recommend solutions. All of them recommended leading a pipe from our yard to a drainage pipe in our neighbor’s backyard. We couldn’t even consider this as an option because we did not want to dig up our neighbor’s yard or risk an issue in the future which might cause excess water in their yard. However, that’s the only solution anyone would provide — UNTIL Evan from Drainage & Solution Services came to the rescue! Not kidding — he was totally an answer to prayer. He came up with an innovative, out of the box idea which involved underground rain barrels which essentially overflow into each other. Furthermore, he was the only contractor that walked around our house and noticed that we had a negative grade by our foundation which was increasing the amount of water going to our sump pump after each rain. He suggested evening that out and having our gutters go underground, further into our yard and away from our house with pop-up drains to help avoid the amount of water even getting to our sump pump. Plain and simple, his idea was brilliant!!! And no one else(and we had many contractors come out) thought of anything even remotely similar. So, if that’s not good enough, Evan’s team was unbelievably fast — UNREAL fast. And when they were done, you couldn’t even tell they had been there — except that we no longer had a small pond in our backyard!!! They reseeded grass where we had our«pond»(which, by the way, I don’t know what grass seed they used but, it sprouted up within days!). They cleaned everything up, were super professional and did fantastic work. They by far exceeded my and my husband’s expectations. It was truly the best experience I’ve ever had in my life with a contractor! We were so frustrated with the lack of ideas and solutions from other contractors. Evan’s idea was truly a blessing! And we’ve had several rain storms and OURYARDISDRY!!! It’s a miracle!!! :) And the price they charged was incredibly reasonable. Truly could not be more satisfied and would recommend them to anyone! Thanks again guys!!!

I should preface my review by letting you know that we never got past the ‘get an estimate’ phase with DES. I contacted DES to install egress windows in my basement. The sales associate is largely the reason we never proceeded beyond ‘get an estimate.’ The associate called once, I returned the call, then he called me back and explained that he «didn’t have time to play phone tag with me» I brushed his comment off and we were able to schedule the estimate appointment. I thought the appointment went well. He looked over our space, made recommendations and said he’d been in touch. About a week after our estimate appointment I contacted the owner and asked for a status. He indicated that I would have my quote the next day. I didn’t. Instead, a few days later I got a call from the original sales associate who indicated that he had lost my contact info and all his notes regarding my estimate but he proceeded to ask questions about my install anyways, basically re-doing the estimate over the phone. «So you want a standard egress window? Nothing special about the area around the window?» It was really bizarre. So after that phone call he said that he would send me the estimate in a few days. I never received it. I emailed the owner again and let him know that we never got the estimate and with no estimate we couldn’t exactly do business with him; he didn’t respond.
