I am in love with Ela and Itsy Photography! She got me in last minute before her major move and made my daughters smash cake session amazing. She is a true professional and artist. All my images turned out amazing… I ended up buying extras cuz it was soo hard to choose. And I was able to buy the unedited versions as well for a very reasonable price. I just had my little girl about a month ago and my girlfriend Elaine told me about Ela and Itsy Photography. I contacted Ela right away. She was so nice and so informative on the phone (and I can’t forget to mention that her photos on her website are just beautiful) that I honestly didn’t have to think twice about working with her. She’s really professional and so talented! I Her studio is super cute and I left it up to her to select the colors/​outfits. During the entire session I was amazed how she was able to position my newborn in the poses and dress her in different outfits and capture each precious moment without waking them up. I later found out during our session that she used to be a nurse, which totally made sense. she not only has the photography talent, but definitely the touch with babies to keep them calm!

Ela is a true professional. We had 10-​minth old twins that are quite difficult to photograph, and Ela did a wonderful job entertaining and engaging them during the shoot. We didn’t realize it when we reached out, but Ela is a twin herself (!) and knew all the tricks to keep them happy and smiling!
One thing I also appreciated is Ela’s prompt, almost real-​time responses to all our questions, both pre– and post– session. Her style is entirely her own, and you will definitely enjoy working with her!

The photographer for this company is one person. Her name is Ela Wunderli, and she was like having 5 people do my photos! I showed up not really knowing what I wanted with my kids, and she just took over, and did a fantastic job. My 2 ½ year old learned to say «cheeeeese» when ever we take her photo and I have the hardest time getting her to have a good smile as a result. Ela, played with her and made her laugh and got the most natural smile! Unprecidented! We are very happy with the results and will be calling her every year for Family re-​takes!

I have had my baby photographed by Itsy Photography twice and LOVE Ela and her theme photo shoots for Halloween and Christmas. Ela is wonderful and captures my daughter’s smile perfectly!

Just had my family session with Itsy and met Ela and her lovely family for the first time. She has a heart of gold donating her time for the wonderful charity «La Maison Orphanage Children» and giving back to her clients at the same time. She is truly amazing! We were one of the last family on her second day session but she was still full of energy. If I was a baby I would love to listen to her soothing voice all day!!! When searching for a photographer for our maternity pictures and newborn pictures, we were referred to Itsy Photography by three different couples!
Our experience was amazing! Ela was so awesome throughout our whole experience! From a business aspect, she is extremely responsive in all emails and calls! From an artistic aspect, she is simply AWESOME!!! She has so many props to make the most adorable pictures! We gave her a few hints on what our style is and she took it from there!
When it came to our family photos after baby arrived, we had no clue what to wear to our beach photo shoot! We texted Ela some pictures of our outfit ideas and she helped us pick an outfit that would be awesome with the scenery! Seriously, how many photographers would take the time to do that for you?!
When photographing our baby, she gave us lots of helpful hints prior to the photoshoot to help keep baby asleep the whole time. During the shoot, Ela did such an amazing job keeping baby asleep… I call her the baby whisperer!
I could go on and on about what made our experience absolutely perfect but you can see the proof from all of her 5 star ratings! I would recommend her services for anyone and will definitely be returning in the future for more memories to be captured!!!

I found Ela through Facebook when I was up late one night browsing through my newsfeed. I saw a couple of my friends kids were tagged on her page so I started going through her page and website. I fell in love with her work and knew immediately I would use her! She is absolutely amazing and super patient! We just adore Ela and we cannot wait for our next session!

Ela is hands down the best baby photographer in the entire Bay area. Seriously, this woman is an artist, compare her work to any other local photographer and the difference jumps out at you. Yes, she may be a little pricier than some of the others, but based on quality, she’s actually the biggest bargain you could find … especially when you consider you’ll only get one shot at capturing this moment in your child’s life.
Every aspect of our experience with her was amazing. It started with the relaxed atmosphere she’s set up in her studio. As others have mentioned, her experience as a NICU nurse makes it super easy for her to put both mom and baby at ease. She knows the exact tricks to get the baby into the sedated mode necessary to capture all those super cute poses. Her patience was amazing! We never once felt rushed, we even ran over during the session and she had to go to her nursing job shortly afterwards.
She has an amazing knack for getting that perfect shot, her technique is flawless, as is her skill with lighting and posing. This is not just someone who is doing photography as a hobby, Ela is a master photographer. She’s also a technical master with the post-​production editing, nothing looked overtly photoshopped, they just looked perfect. I can’t tell you how many raves we got on our baby’s photos!
The only complaint we had is that she’s so damn good, it makes it impossibly hard to select a subset of photos from the overall set of initial session photos for one of her packages. Having to decide which photos to keep and which to discard was like having to decide which of your limbs to keep and which ones to remove. We ended up paying extra to include some photos we simply couldn’t do without, and my advice to others would be to go ahead and do the complete package if you can afford it, because trust me, you’re going to wish you had in the end!
She’s so good, even though we’ve since moved from San Jose to the Sacramento area, we’re still planning to schedule our baby’s 1 year birthday photos with her, despite the 4-​hour round trip that it will require.
You’re not going to find a better baby photographer, I highly recommend her to all the new (and soon-​to-​be) parents out there!

This photo shoot was amazing. 5 hours of patience and baby whispering. Ela has so many props and ideas! The end result was truly priceless. Highly recommended!

Ela is truly remarkable! She has a passion for photography and is very attentive to every small detail. Ela is a perfectionist and will capture each scene with 110% effort. She is very accommodating. With her packed schedule she was still able to squeeze us in and we are grateful for that kind gesture.

Ela photographed my son 6 months ago and now I’m finally getting around to writing her a review!
We weren’t shopping for a photographer at the time, but I knew that we would want to do something special for his 100^th Day birthday for Korean tradition. I bumped into a family friend who was raving about Itsy Photography. She really wanted to hire Ela, but was in the midst of saving up for it.
When I contacted Ela, she was very sweet and easy to work with. I kept changing around the dates, and she was super accomodating and patient. There was a additional $ 100 fee though for booking us during the month that she was booked up for.
Her studio (at her home) was amazing when we went there. Super organized and she’s very quick on her feet. She also gave us time to work with our 3 month old’s moods. I was surprised with how short the session was, but I guess you don’t want to drag out hours with a little baby. He fell asleep towards the end.
I have to commend Ela for her talents. She definitely has a great sensibility to color and texture. She knows how to work with the light and she has the gift to capture the sparkle in your kid’s eyes. She makes all the right noises and gestures to get them to smile and giggle.
After we received the first set of pictures to go through, I felt that there wasn’t much variety for me. some of the best facial expressions were in the same outfits. Ela was very accomodating and offered to make additional changes so that they would feel different from each other. After working on that, we got the finalized CD and the way she packaged it was SO adorable.
Few Tips:
— Try not to book when she’s already booked up for the month. You want to be able to spend that extra $ 100 on more photos
— Bring multiple outfits for the shoot, but try some ½ naked too. I had my boy in outfits for all of them and kind of wish I had him half naked for some to show off his chubs
— Ela now offers the package where you can all the photo session pictures on a CD (not edited though). The price seems high, but you might get pretty close to that even with ordering the 4×6 prints. I spent a little over $ 250 in addition because I didn’t want to lose out any of the pictures that were taken in the session. The 4×6 prints at $ 1.75 a piece really do add up, plus shipping.

Okay, so I’ve had this Unilocal account for years and I actually don’t even remember opening it. I love trying new restaurants, but I’ve never written a review due to pure laziness. However, I feel that it is necessary that I review Itsy Photography because Ela is just that awesome :).
When I was pregnant and shopping around for a newborn photographer I was honestly surprised by how expensive it is for a newborn session. Now that the photo shoot is over and we have our images, the images we have are priceless.
Upon arriving at her studio, we were greeted by her adorable daughters. Her studio had so many different props, it looked like she purchased something from every knitting grandmother on Etsy. She has the studio warm and filled with white noise to soothe your little one.
Ela is also a pediatric nurse, so she obviously knows how to handle babies to get those perfect poses and smiles. She took my baby out of the carseat she shhh’ed him and rocked him back to sleep like a pro. How she got my fussy baby to cooperate for four hours is amazing. She really takes her time and strives to get that perfect shot.
When we finally got our pictures we couldn’t choose just 20, so of course we bought more images a la carte. Do yourself a favor and buy the biggest package she offers, even that didn’t come with enough edited images; there were so many cute ones to choose from.
You can’t go wrong with Itsy. Her pictures of babies really capture their personalities and give you that warm fuzzy feeling!

I’m not sure where to start — there are just too many good things to say about Ela.
Let’s start off with her unbelievable patience. Maybe because she’s a mother of 4 or maybe because she’s also a pediatric nurse, she is just soo darn patient with her clients. I say clients because we’ve loved her so much our friends have gone with her and they love her too. We’ve done 4 shoots with her so far — Newborn (@ 5 days old), Halloween, Christmas and Cake Smash. And *EVERY* single session’s pictures came out so wonderfully. ALL of our friends and family are just amazed at how she composes the pictures and how many cool props she used to create different worlds to put our son in.
Not only she’s patient — she’s super, duper nice. Always warmly welcomes us in to her home and studio with a great attitude and puts us at ease before the session starts. For our newborn session, our baby was super uncooperative and Ela was very understanding and spent way more time than how long it was supposed to last and took some of the most awesome pictures ever. We’ve blown up 8 of them and have them all over the house.
Most important of all, she’s amazingly talented and is a perfectionist. She knows exactly the shot she wants and will find a way to get it. and because she’s flexible where she takes your input on what you want, she takes your vision and takes it to the next level.
We feel so fortunate to have found her — Thanks to other Unilocalers. Now our friends are thanking us.

So it’s the morning of my baby’s photo shoot and I’m thinking, «What was I thinking?» We’re running late for our session, I’m EXHAUSTED, baby is shrieking for a boob, and I’m sobbing because we still haven’t mastered the art of the latch. I’m a hot mess as we rush out the door.
My face is tear stained as we arrive at Ela’s. She’s completely understanding that we’re tardy. «Don’t worry about it,» she says. «I want new moms to relax during the photo session.»
As I watch Ela go to work, I recover from my new mommy meltdown. Her studio is a warm, whimsical wonderland with cute props strewn all over the room. She’s worth the money in prop selection alone. There are so many cute hats, ribbons, colors, and sets to choose from, and you’ll want to put your baby in all of it.
As for her talent, I can’t give her enough praise. She has such a great eye! She can coax out and capture the cutest expressions. My husband and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the final results.
Other reasons to choose Ela as your newborn photographer:
Her other job is as a pediatric nurse. In fact, she was almost our nurse when we had to re-​admit our baby back to the hospital for bilirubin. Talk about a small world! As new parents, it was reassuring to know that our baby was being handled by a trained medical professional.
She really knows what she’s doing. She warms the room to keep your newborn baby comfortable and sleepy, she has chux pads galore, and best of all, she allots time for breastfeeding. Remember that latch that I wrote about a few paragraphs up? Well, Ela fixed it. She should add lactation consultant to her list of job titles. Ever since our session (and that was about 4 months ago), breastfeeding has been a breeze.
Her turn around time is quick. She had our photo gallery up within about a week. Once the gallery was up, It took us longer to choose our photos than it did for her to edit our selections. Once we chose our photos, we had the finished images within the week.
At the end of this very long review, suffice to say that Ela is amazing, She is talented, well equipped, and is a pleasure to work with. We received such positive feedback from family and friends regarding our photos. In fact, I have a few friends and cousins who want to contact Ela to photograph their little ones. As for my husband and I, we will definitely be using Ela in the future.
Pro-​tips:
1.) Book early. Not only does Ela’s booking calendar fill quickly, she also charges a late booking fee. If you’re like me and on the fence about doing newborn photos because of the cost, trust me, it’s totally worth it. My baby is now four months and she has doubled since the time of our photo session. I look at the photos of her newborn session every day and I’m so glad that we have such beautiful keepsakes of her time as a newborn.
2.) Purchase the largest package up front. We initially purchased Package 2, which comes with 15 high res, edited images of your choice. At the time of purchase, we thought that 15 images would be more than enough. After Ela posted the unedited photos into an online gallery, we had such a hard time narrowing our selection to just 15 images. In the end, we ended up purchasing 7 additional images for her to edit. Do yourself a favor, and purchase Package 3, the largest package, up front.

In all of the craziness of having twins, setting up a photos shoot of our newborn cuties was the last thing that my wife and I were thinking of. Looking at the resulting pictures, it was probably one of the best things that we did during their first two weeks of life!
About a week after my wife delivered our twin girl and boy, my sister told us that we just HAD to have professional photos taken of them and suggested Itsy. Being sleep deprived and just a bit loopy, I wasn’t too enthused about having to leave the house. My wife, being ever so much wiser and remember the fantastic photos of my niece, called Ela and was able to setup the photo session.
Ela worked SO much magic during our photo shoot! She knows what she’s doing and she loves babies (especially twins). She knew how to get the babies into a sleepy state and pose them in them in the most heart melting poses. We didn’t have very high expectations going in (twins can be a handful) but after the first pose, we were already happy.
Sample shots were on her blog a few weeks after the shoot, with the full gallery available within the timeframe she provided.
If you are having a baby, please don’t just let your buddy with a dslr take pictures, it’s not the same! Contact Ela before your due date and setup a professional shoot, you will not regret it.
