Lotus Nails Spa

Late post but wanted to share. First time at Lotus Nails and it was a bad experience. The gentleman started my shellac mani and when a client of his showed up, without an appointment, he passed me off to someone else. Mind you, they might see a young face and think «not a good tipper.» I am a very good tipper when it comes to great customer service. However, there was no customer service at this place. Not only was the customer service bad, my nails looked horrible. They were so horrible, I went to get them done at my normal spot 2 or 3 days later… that’s how bad it was. BTW, this is only my second bad review. Where has customer service gone these days?

Getting my nails done is a luxury. At the same time, I believe that there is always something to be experienced in different shops, stores, restaurants, etc. I’ve been to several top notch nail salons in the area, but this place is my go to and I love it! It’s clean, the technicians are friendly, and I never feel gypped. They were very detailed and careful on my gel manicures, which is important to me since I typically only get them done for special occasions.
I highly recommend this place!

I’ve come to Lotus Nails 3 times now and each time I’ve walked out really satisfied. All the employees are really nice and I have yet to get a technician that didn’t do a good job.
Compared to other nail salons around the area, Lotus’ prices used to be a tad bit cheaper but I noticed this last time that they have since raised them. Not a big deal to me, since the quality is good. (Mani/​pedi was $ 40)
I’m glad I found Lotus and will be coming back here more often.

Great nail salon! Not only do you get your nails done but the staff that works there are amazing! Definitely a place worth going to if you want your nail technician to really listen to what you want!

Went on a random Wednesday around 1030am. I believe I was the only customer. Very nice staff. Kim did my gel manicure very well. I got a light pink which can be streaky, but she had no problem doing a third layer when I asked. I also love that she opened up a new package of tools before my manicure. I will definitely be back.

Now that Jackie is not the owner, I’m not sure where to go. Jackie has always done my nails and she is amazing. I is a great feeling when you find a nail person you can trust with your hands.
So now I hope she opens a new place because I will be there and I think a lot of her clients will too.
But in the mean time I have to find another place. Ugh.

About three months ago this was my go to place for nails and waxing. There must have been a new management change over because the prices have raised dramatically with a small decrease in quality of service. Wonderful ladies, just expensive for no reason now. Upset I have to find a new salon.
The management of this establishment did contact me about a month later requiring my receipt for the expensive trip. Nice but incredibly impractical. Who keeps their receipts that long???

Excellent customer service! My technician was very friendly and took her time while doing my nails. I did not feel rushed like most nail salons.

Decided to try something new to see if I could save a bit of money from my usual place. Given the good Unilocal reviews and on the way home location, I thought Lotus a good bet.
Lotus is fine. Decent polish selection (perhaps a bit old), good massage chairs. Above average foot massage. Water was a bit cold, but this happens.
What bothers me is this: instead of getting a manicure, I asked for a polish change (to save some cash). I showed my tech some «fun» NYE options and she said no problem. My nail «design» is no more complicated than a French manicure, so I expected to pay a French price. Instead, I was charged $ 25. Had my tech warned me, I would’ve just gone with the normal French or just paint. There was no warning. Also, the design isn’t exactly what I wanted (but it’s fine and I didn’t say anything thing so I can’t blame the salon, obviously).
In sum, paying an extra $ 20 with no warning really made me never want to go back. There are at least a handful as good or better salons within a mile or two.

The technicians are quite great.
— Brandon are fantastic with the designs and meticulous with his works.
— I heard great things about Jackie but never personally tried her.
— I had my nails done with Nikki today and she was decent until she cut me. (They didn’t bleed but she cut my cuticles too much that they are very sore when I type). Hence, the reason why I gave this place a three stars.

So it was my first time at Lotus nail spa and the nail technician was Brandon and he did exactly what I asked for. I couldn’t be any more happier. he pays close attention to detail and his work is very clean. I will definitely be going back to see him and the prices are reasonable. I found my new nail spot

Got ombré manicure and regular pedicure for $ 75 (tips NOT included). Wasn’t really happy about this pink ombré w/​my olive fair skin tone. Will revert back to French mani shellac with possible design IF I decide to go back.

Wonderful place! Jackie the owner is so sweet. Brandon is so good at design and is like a ninja on pedicures. Jasmine is so detailed for pedicures. A little expensive but worth it.

Usually I have Jackie (who is AWE-​some) but today I had Tiffani. If you want a wonderful massage, Tiffani is the one for you! My pedicure was perfect.
I live out-​of-​state so when I am in the area, I always stop in.

This is an update to my review I posted yesterday when I first checked in. On their Unilocal page it says «check in and get $ 5 off any service $ 25 or more». So I went with a mani/​pedi for $ 40 and was told that the $ 5 Unilocal offer had expired. That was my first sign — coming from the owner. Any reputable business owner would honor what is advertised and then contact Unilocal to find out why it is still posting that discount. Don’t draw a customer in from Unilocal with that promise and then tell them you won’t honor it. I had brought a friend and we both got mani/​pedi anyways since we were there. My friend was done first and paid for both of us and gave each technician a $ 10 tip. Only when I asked to see her receipt did I discover that I had been charged an additional $ 7 for my appt. Why? We sat next to eachother and had the exact same treatments. Made my blood boil
Neither of us will be returning.

I really liked Lotus. Randomly on a Sunday I decided my toes were too hurt to go on, and I really needed a pedicure. So, I called them around 12, and asked if I could come at 1230. This place is just down the street from my BFs, so it is SUPER convenient for me.
I don’t know the name of the Technician I had, but it wasn’t Brandon or Jackie. They both had customers back to back to back. I don’t get a whole lot of pedicures but this place was 10x better than the other two places I had been going too.
Prices aren’t bad, and I saw Brandon doing some special work, and it looked beautiful! But make sure you TELL them when you call.
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. By luck I got in when I called, but the place was PACKED. Every person who left, someone new came.

So I decided to give it another shot because I was desperate and my usual place was just too far today… and figured I’d get a different tech but I got the same person! What bad luck– perhaps it’s because no one requests her and she’s left for walk ins. I feel bad for saying this but her massage is sooo bad, like she’s digging her nails into my foot. Her name is Lynn. Wait for someone else.
I checked that their instruments are auto claved and pumice is bleached. No worries there.

I came here because of the raving reviews and the proximity to my house. Thanks Unilocalers, this truly is a 5 star nail salon.
I came to get my nails re-​done after another salon did a terrible job. They changed my nail color and trimmed my cuticles and they look amazing! I’m very impressed.
Fair pricing, not too crowded, and friendly technicians. This is my new go-​to place.

I think the picture speaks for itself. Very messy and slow job.
I have a gel kit at home so when I go to get my nails done professionally I expect an impeccable job. This was very far from that.
The technician I had was extremely nice but I was disappointed with the end result of my nails.
Also, the polish kept wrinkling and I told her it was probably because the polish was being applied too thick. She had to remove all of them and re-​do it which was another extra 30 – 40 minutes of my time wasted. When she re-​did it, several of my nails were still wrinkled. She gave me a discount off part of my gel manicure, but I was still very disappointed with the results.
This is not what I expect from a professional nail salon.

After moving to the area a little under a year ago, I’ve tried a lot of salons for mani/​pedis and have been merely whelmed. But lotus is the real deal! I came in last Friday afternoon at 35 weeks pregnant for mani/​pedi. It was clean, friendly (but not overly) and not super busy. Ample parking (though it was a little mike crowded once I left.)
SOOOO relaxing! Great massage for both services and was in and out in about 2 hours (including dry time.)
What makes me write this review?
My nails haven’t even chipped and it’s been a solid 7 days.
I have a 2 year old, a dog and a full time job and am constantly washing my hands, dishes, cleaning up stuff, etc. but regular polish (not gel) and my cuticles look awesome still and my feet are still soft!
I will definitely be back, although not sure when since my nails are still in such great shape.

So after about a week of searching for who I wanted to my nails I finally settled on Lotus Nail Salon. They didn’t have as many reviews as all the others but what I read was enough to bring me in. To be more specific looking at reviews if there was something negative someone from the shop at least tried to mitigate the situation. Kudos.
So about the spa. I called ahead to make sure am someone was able to give me a fill. Upon my arrival I was greeted as I entered. (Which is a must for me… like seriously speak & acknowledge me when I come to give you my money) I was asked if I wanted a pedicure as well… hey why not! Jasmine was the tech who did my nail. Water was nice & hot. Tech was pleasant & chair was comfortable. The detail to clean up the cuticle, dead skin & all that was A+. I like more pressure for my massage but that’s presence. My toes look & feel great
About my hands. Let’s just say I’m VERY picky about my nails. She picked up what nail was crocked & fixed. Gave me my fill, color, abstract design! I LOVE them. Jackie Ma did my nails & gave me tips on which times are best to come, when I call ahead how to book an appt to ensure I get what I want & engaged in conversation making the 1^st visit a nice visit.
Definitely going back. They had soooo many pretty colors to choose from so happy to finally have a place to frequent for my nails.

I live in DC and just stopped in while visiting the area. Definitely the best mani/​pedi of my life. I LOVE THEIR CALLUS TREATMENT! my feet have NEVER been so darn smooth.
The establishment is clean, small, and relatively quiet. While the lady I had was a bit slow, not from being lazy or uncertain of her skill, more so being a perfectionist; she delivered the best service EVER. I wouldn’t change her. :)
All in all. The best. I’ll be returning!

Brandon is my savior! I’ve been looking for a nail salon that does ombré nails and lo and behold, the only person near my area and the only male technician in the shop is the master of this craft.
I came in on a Thursday afternoon and it was fairly packed with customers inside. I had an appointment and Brandon started catering to my nails right away. I told him what I wanted and he didn’t hesitate on carrying it out.
Warning: The ombré process is quite time-​consuming so be prepared to take a few hours out of your day if you want it… Lesson learned.
Actually, one of the the other techs asked him to do the ombré for her customer too while she cleaned off my nails, that’s how you know he’s the go-​to ombré guy. And despite the fact that my nail technique was extremely tedious, he still pampered them completely by adding oils, lotion, and a finishing hand massage.
Needless to say, I was all smiles when I walked out of there. My nails came out perfectly filed with a beautifully transitioned pink to natural-​colored ombré!

A wonderful nail salon experience. Everyone is so nice! I had Brandon take care of me and do a regular pedi and gel manicure. I was very satisfied with their services. He was very careful and made sure I was taken care of! He did a great job on my nails! Feels nice to be pampered like this. Prices are also not bad for the area.
Also, if you’re going to be coming back they put the tools they use on you, into your own labeled box. You can put your name and email and they leave it there for the next time. Pretty sweet!

Lotus Nails Spa is a hidden gem! The salon is in a tiny strip mall on 29 next to El Tio Tex Mex Grill.
I walked in and had to wait about 20 minutes. Although they close at 7:30 during the weekday, they still took customers in 10 – 15 minutes before they closed! Linh was my tech and she was friendly and meticulous. It seemed like every technician, including her, would ask you what you wanted in terms of nail shape, how long/​short you want your nails to be, if the water was too hot/​cold, etc. which was very accommodating. The quality is great for the price you pay — I received a gel manicure and regular pedicure (with an additional $ 3 if you want the peppermint scrub) for $ 55! What a steal compared to the prices of other nail salons in this area. All mani/​pedis include a warm lotion massage. I didn’t feel pressured with any upselling either.
Since it was my first time, they gave me a container to keep a set of manicure tools (you put your name, email, and phone number on it) to use when I come back. Since I had a good experience here, I will definitely come back soon!

I’m updating my review since the ladies have made great changes to ensure they perform their services with great care. Plus, the owner, Jackie, is so sweet and always takes feedback well unlike some places, and she truly wants to improve anything she can for her customers. She is wonderful. All of the technicians are also very sweet. She even threw a Valentine’s Day party for her customers the week of Valentine’s Day, giving out delicious chocolates and cookies, and decorating her salon. She also had decorations and goodies during the Christmas holiday.
If you are a repeat customer, they keep a set of manicure tools in a container with your name and number on it so they can use it when you come in each time. They always ask you if the water to soak your hands and feet is OK for you, «is it too hot or too cold,» they also ask if they are being gentle enough while cutting and filing your nails and during the pedicure massage. They also ask how short you want your nails, or if you just want them filed and shaped up but keep the length. I’ve been to some nail salons and they don’t even ask you what you want beyond the nail color; they just start right in, or even if you tell them, they forget and do what they want, and when you politely correct them, they get mad. Not here at Lotus Nails Spa, the owner and technicians make sure they do what you want and take feedback very well.
They keep adding to their already impressive nail color selection by getting fun, chic, classy colors; including gel polish, for holidays, so women can pick something different and have fun options for special holiday times. Sometimes it can take customers awhile to select what color they want since there are so many wonderful options.
The only mild annoyance can be the front parking area directly in front of the salon. It’s crazy, mad busy all day long, since there are restaurants in the strip mall around it, but there is plenty of parking in the back and on the side if the front spots are taken.
