United Charitable Programs (UCP) is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to empower people to help others by fiscally sponsoring targeted charitable programs that effect positive change through charitable, educational, scientific, or religious actions worldwide. Our programs vary in size, budget and scope, but all share the desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
By administratively supporting these individual projects in many different charitable areas at nominal costs, UCP is able to affect constructive social change at a grassroots level, on a project by project basis.
History
Established in 2005.
In 2005, the organization was granted tax-exempt status under section 501©(3)of the Internal Revenue Code. In 2010, the name was changed to United Charitable Programs to more accurately reflect the mission of the organization. We are, in essence, striving to «unite charitable programs» by fiscally sponsoring them at very nominal costs. As such, UCP is able to affect constructive social change at a grassroots level, on a project by project basis. We strive to share our knowledge and expertise with our projects to help them grow and succeed.
In January 2011, UCP assumed fiscal sponsorship of about 700 charitable programs from another charity. UCP carefully reviewed each program including its mission, managers, and budget before the program was activated.
