Auto Showcase of Bel Air

I had previously visited Auto Showcase about 2 years ago and they had a car I was interested in however when I arrived that car was sold and it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I decided to revisit after I saw another car I liked and this time the car was in stock and things went way differently.
Last visit there was loud hip hop playing over the speakers this visit was nice, calm and soothing music.
Last visit I had to walk through 2 salesman puffing a cloud of smoke at me in order to get into the showroom and this visit I was greeted outside in the lot prior to walking in and had them open the door for me.
I told my salesman about my prior experience and he said there is new management in place and that they are a whole new operation and I saw it first hand. I was able to get financing in place and they did all the hard work for me. Outstanding work guys!

Wish I could give zero stars. These people are crooks and Sean the manager is a total jerk. I bought a truck from them about a year ago. At the time of purchase, Sean promised me he would provide me with new tires, brakes, and fix the airbag light and a couple minor interior things as long as I signed the paperwork now. My fault for talking him at his word. After weeks of being turned away when I physically brought it in for actual scheduled appointments, I got fed up and went straight back to Sean. He didn’t remember selling me the vehicle and denied promising me the repairs. During this conversation of him denying everything, he tried to blame it on another employee who was right there by saying «Sebrina is a total moron and is lucky even to get dressed in the morning.» I remained 100% calm, he kept denying everything and threatened to call the cops on me if I didn’t get out of his showroom. What kind of a guy does that to a paying customer, let alone an employee?
Anyway, I decided never to even deal with them anymore because everyone working there (including the service department) is as incompetent as Sean is rude. A couple months later, my radiator went up and I wanted to get some warranty info from them. After several calls, nobody was able to get me any sort of information on the service plan included in the sale. You can’t even get a call back from these guys.
My mechanic listed out all the things wrong with the truck that shouldn’t have passed inspection. He said they must be friends with the guy doing the inspection. These items included brakes need replaced, tires need replaced, hole in the muffler, and airbag light on dash blinking. This past fall, my leaf spring shackle broke and busted through the bed. This week, the tailpipe straight up fell off. All in all, I’ve spent about $ 3,000 on all these repairs since I’ve had the truck.
These people are incompetent, rude thieves. Do not do business with them. I warned you.

I saw a car I liked on their website and called to make sure it was there and mysteriously when I drove to see it, it was sold but they had a model 4k more in stock for me to test drive. No thanks.
Prior to my visit I looked here on Unilocal and I dont think I have ever seen so many consecutive negative reviews, unanswered by management on Unilocal.This was a red flag right off the bat. Upon visiting the dealership I had to walk through the front doors with 3 salesman smoking cigarettes, creating a cloud of smoke right in my face and didnt offer to open the door for my wife and I but were polite enough to have us walk through their clouds of smoke. The sweet sounds of Bass music were pumping from inside the dealership when we walked in which was so weird, it immediately turned us off. We had to practically grab someone for help only to find out that our car of interest was sold and they offered the more expensive unit. Oh well, lesson learned. Read the prior reviews and make you own decision.

«YOUR TIME IS BETTER SPENT ELSE WHERE“So went in to test drive a 2009 scion tc advertise for 8,778. Sales and staff were great. The first problem was the total after tax titles and fees. 12,101 dollar!?! One question, how? I didn’t ask didn’t want to know. Obviously I made a mistake somewhere. Told the sales guy I would go see what they where offering at one other spot I wanted to go to a 2010 scion tc and compare the figures. Then pick which ones best for me. The sales guy didn’t want me to leave and said we should go talk to the head sales or owner, not sure. Problem 2. The guy in charge was italian with glass, real smuck. I didn’t know what to say, I m not a bargainer. So I said straight out I m not paying 12k for that car, no way. Mostly because it was advertised for over 3 g’s less. This wasn’t the problem. It was after we reached a head. Neither of us were changing what we were asking for. I started backing up out said ok great thanks, I takes this offer and go and compare the two and make a decision. Then be back tonight (or not) As I picked up the paper he snacked it back like a power hunger little punk who said I m taking all my toys home and you can’t come with me. That was that last straw, that broke my cool. It was immature, threatening, along a long list of other sad traits. Just another shark company who if they think you have money they want it. On two separate occasions this dealership has posted cars, said they were available and then once I set foot on the lot they were magically sold. But don’t worry they have something far more expensive for you to test drive instead.

Had to downgrade it a little bit based on warranty service afterwards. After some initial experiences which were good they just stopped returning calls. My salesman left and it was impossible to get help.

Mark just tried to explain to my husband and I why a truck listed online for $ 12K was really $ 3000 more because of some trade or down payment issue. He said its in the «quickness» of the commercial that we don’t understand. He said that their prices all have disclaimers that basically say that the list price is not really the price you’re going to pay. It’s all in the quickness. Needless to say we left with our own kind of quickness.

I wish I could post a zero for reviews here – the customer service department is absolutely horrible. They NEVER call back and have even hung up on me more than once because they refuse to answer my questions about my tags. The service department is a joke – save your money and your energy and go to another place.

Once visited this place with a friend of mine. He asked, out of curiosity, how much they were asking for a Ferrari. The salesman’s reply was «More than you’ll ever be able to afford!» Horrendous customer service, god awful music pumping through the entire place, and totally unwarranted pretentious douchebaggery.

Do not buy a vehicle from this dealership. They are just putting lipstick on a pig when it comes to their cars. I will list all the problems, and you can decide for yourself. I bought a truck in December, and these are the problems I’ve encountered in only 6 months.
1. Tried to lowball me on my trade in until I started to leave and magically they could pay my asking price which was $ 2500 more than what they tried to give me.
2. Had the truck listed on the internet for one price, and when I got there it was really $ 2k more. Told me they could meet the internet price if I wanted them to take the tires and rims off. This should have thrown up a red flag for me, but I proceeded with the deal anyways.
3. Spent 4 hours in the store while they did another inspection of the vehicle for me «because I am military». This was a total fraud. A week after purchasing, I changed the oil and it was as black as coal, so there was no telling when it was changed, but if you are inspecting it for me, you should probably let me know how bad it was.
4. A light was cracked and they were to replace it. I drive all the way back up there to have it done, and they didn’t have the part. I ended up having them place an order for me and having to drive to the parts place myself and get the part and install it. It wasn’t a big deal, but just kind of poor business to have me drive 45 minutes and not have the part and then have me drive myself to pick it up.
5. 2 weeks after purchasing, spent $ 400 for shocks and replaced them myself.
6. When working on the shocks, discovered that the rims were in horrible condition on the inside. They are so bad that I will have to replace them when I get new tires. (Should have told them to take them off and give me the internet price, you live and learn).
7. Drive shaft issues. Started developing a clunk after a few weeks, found out that it was a known issue on the model, but they had put lube on it as a temporary fix.
8. Recently spent another $ 700 to have the brakes fixed. I had been feeling it pull to the right when braking hard, and now I know why. The left front had been seized up and not working for months. It was so bad that the mechanic had to cut off the bolts. This is something that did not develop in 6 months. It was more than likely like this when I bought it… so much for the inspection.
9. The alignment was horrible. I noticed uneven wear on a tire, so I spent another $ 200 on the alignment for the truck, and it was absolutely horrible when they did the test and had it fixed.
10. Now the check engine light is on. It could be small, but it’s just frustrating to find another problem.
To sum it up, save yourself the trouble. The finance manager in the front is an arrogant guy that doesn’t really care to help. The salesman was good, but everything else about the experience was frustrating. The fact that I have had it 6 months and already spent around $ 1500 on parts and labor for it is ridiculous. I saw these other reviews at the time and figured that some people could have just been unlucky, but now that I see first hand what this place offers, I understand their frustration and believe that this many bad reviews is no fluke.

Just had a fabulous experience, using Wayne as our salesman. Found the vehicle on
, checked it out, gave them our «out the door» number and they made everything work. No questions, they took our trade, handled everything quickly and easily, and we were out the door in record time. If you’re looking for a used car and have specific requirements, check with Wayne Craig… He (and manager Sean) made everything come together!

These people are a joke, they are liars and will treat you like crap. Do yourselves a favor and go buy a power wheels from Walmart before buying from them… The power wheels will probably be more reliable than what they are selling…

Whatever you do you do, DO NOT buy a vehicle from Auto show Case. I purchased a 2013 Jeep wrangler in February. What I thought was a great deal turned out to be a total nightmare. First off there service department did not know what they were doing when they went to install the automatic starter on, which was part of the deal and ended up frying the computer module in the jeep and they had to take it to a jeep dealer to be fixed. The whole 8 hours they had me there waiting at the dealer they told me on several occasions that they did not know what they were doing. Everything got fixed and I was back to loving my jeep that is till the first nice day we had here in Maryland. Monday April 6 when the temperatures were in the 70s. I was unsuccessful in taking the top off the jeep myself, so I decided to go to a local Jeep dealer here in Harford County, and see if they could show me how. After my first experience with the service department at Auto showcase, I was not letting them touch my jeep again. I was told by the service department that I should be able to just unclip and push it back, I explained that I do not have clips that there are bolts that I have to unscrew them. He then came out to the wrangler to look at it and show me how to use my Jeep for what it is used for and the number one reason I bought the jeep and that is to be able take the top off. He proceeded to tell me that this is not the correct top that should be on the jeep and had to go get another sales rep to come out and see if he knew how to take the top off. It took 2 men over 30 mins to get the top a ¼ off. They advised me to go to the dealership I bought the jeep from, I went to see Mike the sales Manager at Auto Showcase and talk to him and I was not happy with his response. He basically made me feel as if its not his problem. Once I left the dealership, I went to another local Jeep dealer and they told me the same thing that the pervious dealer did «Yes it fits but no it is not the correct top.» It should not be so difficult for me to take the top off my jeep, I should be able to do it by myself and that is not the case. I have sent emails made phone calls and have gotten no response for a week from the sales manager at Joppa. I took it to Auto Showcase of Fallston/​Bel Air to speak with the another manager since I was getting no where with the Joppa manager. Bel Air had a salesman come out look at the jeep and he had looked at it and agreed that it is not right and that he would not be able to get it off and if he couldn’t he knew I would not be able to get it off. At this point I have had emails out to managers and the owner. Once I got a response I was told by the owner Dave Landsman that it is not his problem, «I should have inspected the jeep and took the top off before I bought it.» For a dealership to sell cars they should know what they are selling, they should know that you cannot remove the top in such cold weather without causing damage to the fabric and taking the chance of not getting the top back on (per owners manual.) I could not take the top off when I bought the jeep for the weather was too cold and it is recommended that you do not remove the top in such cold temperatures, It was below freezing that night. I was lied to by the sale manager, he told me it would be an easy process to take the top off. In order for me to have a top that is correct and easy for me to take off I had to spend 2 thousand dollars for a new top, so I can enjoy my jeep the way it is intended to be enjoyed. The dealership has made no efforts in trying to make this manner right. They have also had there general manger hang up the phone on me. They treat there customers with such disgrace. They are Scum, and just look for to take your good hard money. Once they have your money they do not care, what kind of crap they are selling you. Stay away and learn from my costly mistake. I hope that everyone that has had such a bad experience contacts the BBB and files a complaint.

This was by far the most unprofessional experience my husband and I had in looking for a new vehicle. We scheduled an appointment, drove over 90 minutes, and the car wasn’t ready when we got to the lot. We were supposed to meet with one salesperson, but he wasn’t available either, so we were shuffled to an incompetent manager. In researching the car, it was that particular manager who refused to email the CarFax report, so my husband purchased the report before we scheduled the appointment. We went on a test drive with someone who was unable to answer many questions about the car, including the meaning behind a warning light that was on in the dashboard. We were told it was the tire pressure indicator, but my husband knew that symbol was different. They continued to be unable to answer any questions about the car, so we left. On the way home, another manager called, and seemed genuinely concerned that we had a bad experience. He promised to pull the warning code and contact us with the information, which they did few hours later, saying that a sensor needed to be replaced. As my husband was making arrangements (with yet another «manager») to purchase the car and return the dealership the next day, they «sold the car.» We’re chalking this up as probably for the best, for if there was anything wrong the car, I have no confidence they would have stood by their word, or the car. It’s a shame — they have nice cars on the lot, but zero people skills. Through this whole process, it was if they were just processing cattle, not people. One last point — there was a sticker on the car that it was a certified pre-​owned vehicle, but the CarFax report (that will guarantee their word), noted that it was not. If you’re not 100% sure of the car you are purchasing, buyer beware.

On August 28, 2014, Ciera called me responding to an inquiry on a car that I had made some time ago. After explaining to her my previous troubles with getting approved for financing elsewhere and only having a $ 500 down payment, I applied online for financing. Ciera called me back soon after and said that I was pre-​approved. I told her that I could not come until Saturday and that I did not have a car to get there. We came up with the solution of me catching the train and that someone from the dealership would pick me up from the train station. On August 29, 2014, the day before I am to go the dealership, I talked with Ciera on the phone explaining my apprehensive about coming there and not being able to get approved. She assured me verbally at that time and also in text that I was approved. On August 30, 2014, I texted Ciera when I was almost at the station that I was ready to be picked up. She responded that she spoke with her «finance man» and «he doesn’t think with 500 down he can get it done». I returned home. This all could have been avoided with proper communication. I even faxed without Ciera asking me to verification documents. I do not believed they were looked at. I even have in text from Ciera that me paying the $ 500 deposit the following week was no problem. The dealership had two days before I caught the train to tell me that $ 500 was not even instead of waiting until I made the trip there. I have talked with I believe Sean once who said he would look into the matter and return my call. He never did and avoided my subsequent phone calls. I talked with Greg Chilton, who I believe is the General Manager. On September 14, 2014, Mr. Chilton said he talked with someone (did not give name) and that person is not willing to refund the $ 70 train fee.

I want to start this off by saying that I have sold cars before. I know the business pretty well and this was the worst experience in purchasing a car ever. It literally made me sick to my stomach and my body was exhausted after:
I was looking to purchase a Lexus that they had listed online. I originally found the vehicle listed at $ 13 997 on
but when I went to the actual dealers website it stated «Call for Pricing» I was looking for a very specific vehicle so I called them to see if I could schedule a visit to see the vehicle. The salesman I spoke to was very nice on the phone and took down my information on my trade in and asked me what kind of payments I would like to be at. He stated he would call me back. Once he called me back later that evening he stated that most likely I would have a payment even less than what I needed to be at and that was without my trade. This was convincing enough so I decided to check out the car.
As soon as I got there they started talking to me about financing without even seeing the car, we were talking about it for about 45 minutes. And I was told the price of the car was $ 15 999, which is 2 grand more than what was listed online. They said that included freight charges and tax, title tags, which seemed absurb for such a low priced car– $ 2000 more??? 6% (MD sales tax) of 13 997 is just over $ 800 so what are these $ 1200 in extra charges?? I was thrown off at that point. I told them i wanted to be in a certain price range with a certain term. The only reason I went in was because they gave me the idea that we could do that. Another sales consultant came over and was showing me what payment options were available. For the term I said I wanted he showed me a price $ 130 more a month than previously discussed. And that was with trading in my car, which they originally told me I could get my requested payment without doing that. Yeah, no! Although my original sales consultant was nice, the rest of the staff was very pushy and rude. They offered me barely anything for my car which has ridiculously low miles for its age. They showed me a very basic print out of cars similar to mine that had sold at auction for the price they were giving me. None of which had similar mileage. Plus it did not list the condition of the cars etc. I did not trust that either.
After going through all of this financing option I said I was not deciding on anything until I actually saw the car. Which wasnt even at the location they had me go to! We had to drive MY own vehicle to the other location to pick up the car so I had to have my husband drive my car back. Who does that???
The condition of the car was reasonable for its age and miles. Some minor scratches etc. The rear bumper was obviously repainted and I knew immediately it was hit. I requested the history report when we returned and my suspicions were correct. It was hit but it did not say where, I am assuming the rear.
Anyway, I liked the car but still was not comfortable with the pushy financing. We came back inside and talked more about the financing and once I stated we were running out of time and had to leave I brought over my husband and friend to head out. As we were walking out another finance manager came over and stated he texted the owner of the dealership and they would get me closer to my payment with an extended term but still werent budging on the price of my trade in.
My husband stated he wanted a certain amount for the trade in and monthly payment and we would get the car. The finance manager was very condescending and said «Well, thats mathmatically impossible.» So my husband let him know we dont have a deal then, and we left.
I have never experienced such shady dealings. I felt that they were pushing me into something I wasnt comfortable with and didnt care. I have amazing credit and financing so I dont know why they weren’t willing to work with me. I kept saying I cant do the payment they were offering and tried to discuss some options and they just pushed and pushed and pushed. They were not willing to work with me at all. I seriously dont understand how they are still open. Worst business practices ever. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Purchased a 2007 Chevy Equinox. Have had car for almost 6 months. It’s only worked 6.5 weeks.
Donny the manager is a joke as is the whole company. Taking these jerks to court!!! Car won’t even move!

Bought my 2006 Cadillac srx 8 months ago… auto showcase is a piece of shit crooks. My suv needs 4k worth of work done. It’s like they didn’t inspect the vehicle after they bought it from the auction. Just washed it. Just washed it and stuck it on the lot. Too expensive to trade in so I’m stuck with this suv and 4k in much needed repairs. Fakes and Phonies. I would never ever tell someone to go here or you will get robbed.

Bought a minivan from them, a few days later we heard a grinding noise when applying the brakes and had it looked at. No back driver side brake pad and the rotor was all chewed up. The inspector looked at the tire and said it should not have passed inspection. In the mean time the tire sensor was on from the time we bought the car with the promise they would replace it once it came in. They replaced the rotors and brake pad but said no to the tires so we called the state police who told them no it doesn’t pass. So now since we made them mad they are saying they never promised to fix the sensor, and the car is still under 1000 miles. These guys are scam artist and need to be shut down. I will spend very free moment I can having them investigated. Do yourself a favor and go some where with a better reputation. A buy here pay here is better then this place.

BAD. They rushed me and were very pushy while I was deciding whether or not to buy the car. Then they did not get me my license plate until the DAY that the temporary one ran out, and I had to fight them for it.
Now I have had the car for less than 4 months and already spent $ 450 to repair it when it suddenly broke down due to a broken part. The mechanic told me that the car has definitely been in an accident before, which was not disclosed by the dealership. This explains the airbag light that has been on for a month — they must have not fixed it after the fender bender.
The dealership has been very rude when I called to ask about these problems. They even accused me of driving the car into something, which doesn’t even make sense, because the accident was before I bought the car and any damage done was repaired when I bought it. The mechanic could tell by the way the repairs were done.
They also gave me a 9.99% APR financing rate, which is absurd, and I have since refinanced to a 1.99% APR rate.
Do not go here.
